*ABOUT YUSIF* My name is Yusif. I am a Seattle Washington born indie artist. I was born in Seattle Washington & now I live in Kuwait. I record most indie music videos & music gear reviews at my home recording studio in Kuwait. I focus on acoustic music mostly.
I started my career doing alternative indie music with an indie rock alternative pop vibe. My style lately is more acoustic rock or retro indie folk rock with some alternative pop & alt pop in the mix. My vocals sound like Cat Stevens married Bob Dylan. My songwriting is inspired by John Lennon and Stevie Wonder.
If you like indie music you'll love this retro indie folk rock channel
Can you tell me if its possible to split a piano 1e part midi en 2e part the orignal sound? I want to do so for a better bass sound for my left hand instead of have 2 pianos or pc setup. This is for live performances. I do have a yamaha cp33 .can you give me advise? Thank you!
1:45 Great information, what if someone has a novation 49 midi controller a maschine mklll, and an audio interface how do you go about setting that up? Thank you.
So help me out here 🤪😱😂 How does this not have thousands of more views? (and likes). The guitar sounded like it needs its own show. (It was that good) and vocals were flawless. Most excellent performance. Thanks for posting.
Nice playing and singing… I always get the 3 rd verse mixed up. Funny you forgot fist line to sing also. That’s happens alot. Like a primer, once you get the first line, rest comes somehow… Take care and long may you run.
Great idea, but that door now weights over 125lbs and those 2(?) hinges will eventually break and/or come loose. You'll need at least 4 hinges to hold that amount of weight.
and yet the door remains firmly on the hinges multiple years later... i actually wanted to add more gypsum but the hinges were starting to creak so i stopped at 3 layers :)))
Cool setup, Yusif! I recently set up something very similar with my Boss RC-500 and Behringer mixer for live performances to loop vox, guitar, and keys. You mentioned you frequently send the out to an amp for live performance; I was wondering if you ever experience issues with buzz/hum in your Channel 9/10 (where you route the looper back into the mixer)? I am experiencing this currently, it's not unbearable but my equivalent of your Channel 9/10 is generating quite a bit more buzz/noise floor than any of the other channels. I power my RC-500 with an isolated power supply (Voodoo Pedal Power 2 Plus) so I don't think it's a ground loop issue. Thanks for the great video!
thanks dylan! for the buzz/hum issue i would double check your gain staging in each step of your signal chain. also, remember: guitar pickups are unbalanced, so there will always be some extra buzz with electric guitars and loopers due to that. hard to say more without seeing it myself :) it could be channel 9/10 is malfunctioning, but it's more likely something with the gain staging of your looper and pedals setup than the mixer, that's my guess
Forget the haters about the screwdriver tapping (but maybe next time, something soft tipped)...is there any way to go straight from this to the PC? What would would be the best way - and what would be the easiest way?
Nice video. May I ask (sorry I am kinda new in this topic): does it make sense to buy such a small mixer and connect my Genos (unbalanced) and my HS7 (xlr) to it? Main target is to maximise the quality of sound. I mean it also works connecting the key and the monitors (jack-jack) ifc. But it’s a asymmetrical signal then. Thank you 🙏
Gracias bro, saludos
Just stick with the Artist MIX. People are going nuts over the newer S1 but trust me, there's not much of a difference between them. In fact, what does one want an additional iPad for to watch metering? You've already got your Pro Tools screenl etc and it's all about mixing without looking at your screen they say. The Avid S6's just ludicrous! It's like having a disco in your studio. LOL I owned a Pro Control in the past and that thing's "just fine". The faders were better than my Artist series controllers. The problem's that it's humongous. That's what I like about the Artist/S series. They're small and do (almost) the exact same thing as my Pro Control did, but a little less well, haha. Having an S6 is like having a dummy Ferrari in your bedroom with a gaming chair in it, a wheel, some pedals to control your virtual gas pedals and some buttons on the roof, like "beep beep". Just a lotta stuff you won't need most of the time. ;)
I'm not a piano guy really, but I'm recording some Acoustic guitar originals and want to use a Yamaha PSR 175 (I found in the trash) just to add some drone notes and funky background stuff. I thought I need a midi cable but it looks like I don't. I'll just use the 1/4' outputs into my Interface....right? I'm using Reaper. Great explanation!
So if I have my microphone into a seperate piece of hardware, and from that piece of hardware if I use two XLR outs into channel 1 & channel 2 and press the stereo button, it would be true stereo? So that way I can use 3/4 & 5/6 for other things?
why would you want to run 1 mic in stereo? unless you have stereo fx like auto-pan or something going on. otherwise just run a mono xlr our (usually left channel) from your hardware. you can run your mic in stereo on this thing. tho i do remember testing it 10 yrs ago and getting some bleed from L to R even in stereo mode, so I'm not sure how "true" the stereo on it is... only one way to find out!! bring your hardware down to your local music store, hook it up, and test it!! : - )
@@YusifRefaehey man, was going to buy a boss ve500, just for all the cool stereo effects? But im thinking its kind of dumb as vocals should or atleast sound better centered. Right? Should I stop thinking stereo is the best for everything? Lol
