Great video sensei, thank you. I have been doing ZNKR for over 12 years now, but the arthritis in my big toes has stopped me, I was wanting to learn a new set of kata, but the musoshinden ryu omori ryu and chudan are all from the floor, would it be ok if I learned okuden tanchi waza without learning Shodan or chudan katas?, it's much better for me because its standing kata.
I love this feeling explained at 10:45 "You don't know what it is that you did. I think everyone has had this experience. This is real waza" Thank you for this affirmation
Unfortunately, I do not have Kawaguchi Sensei’s Seitei Iai video; however, there is an online subscription service at gen-universe.com/ where you can find it, and many other training videos. I have yet to subscribe, but plan to when I have time for viewing.
Why did you have someone narrate this that cannot pronounce the terms properly? It is hard to watch when one cringes at the mispronunciation. Thank you for sharing this video.
If you think this is bad, the parts edited out are even worse. This was produced by the All Japan Kendo Federation many years ago. When it was first released, I shared comments similar to yours with an AJKF officer. In typical Japanese fashion, the response I got was a sucking of air through the teeth, a tilt of the head, a sigh, and a single word - muzukashī. Bottom line, low budget and a target audience that was a secondary thought. At the time, however, it was the first resource of its kind on the subject. It is better than nothing, but sad that there have been no efforts to advance it, or produce anything else like it.
We can actually make a better overdub using subtitles and AI voice tools to have perfect intonation and pronunciation. The video quality is dogshit though, even AI upscalers will fail.
Yes, you are very welcome to translate it and share it with others. This instruction changed my kendo and I am glad to see so many other kendoka are also finding it helpful. Thank you for helping spread the knowledge.
Thank you for all wondeful videos. I was looking for the briefing of all Katas Musoshinden Ryu and I finally found them, not only the fluently briefing but also wonderful online lectures. First of all I would like to watch all of Katas through and practise step by step. Thank you again with all my respects to Kawaguchi Sensei.
Thank you for sharing this video. It's helpful to understand, as like I were currently in his Seminar. I can barley understand Japanese, but his Japanese accent is really clear and he uses easy Budo words. Then I could understand what the Sensei suppose to say.
