My name is Heather and I am an aroid addict. This channel will comprise of rare aroids, fails, reviews and propagation methods (that worked for me). I am not an expert - just a girl who likes to play in the dirt and experiment.
Something being expensive does not make it better. Mother and Soltech are two great examples of companies that came along during the COVID quarantine and capitalized on selling overpriced lights. Great example is the fact that Barrina will provide you the same results for the fraction of the price. Sansi also makes good reasonably priced lights as well. I would never however spend money on Mother or Soltech.
So glad you gave the rundown of plant parenthood 👩🏽🌾💚😅. I appreciate watching to see what challenges and solutions others encounter to decide if that could also work in my conditions. Plus I just like real people.
Love da background! Im glad the prices are going down for the Thai Con. I know its crazy that we paid top dollar just a couple years ago. They arent sold in stores in Hawaii. (Walmart, Costco, Home Depot etc)
Thank you...I ordered a Plowmenii and then was told by seller that the plant is a McDowell. I am happy actually cuz i think i will like it as a rare plant, and maybe my friend wont have it...and when it grows...i can pull it out and see if i can get some good trades! Wink😊 😉
Hello, how are you? I'm from Portugal, and I wanted to ask you how this growth went? Did it go? Well, I hope so... I would really like to buy these seeds, do you know where I can find them?
I just did this with my last PPP. I've purchased 5 of them over the last 18 months and every single one has failed miserably. My white princess is growing well, but the Pink is a joke in this household. I'm done!
I wonder if you have spider mites. That monstera Thai constellation could be saved. Have you tried New Zealand sphagnum moss, the one for orchids. It also helps transition from water roots to soil roots. That extensive damage could be due to spider mites infestation and/or problems with the soil, like too much fertilizer, maybe compacted old soil.
Hmmm it could have been spider mites. But in all honesty it was becoming a lot of work of trying to keep it alive. I will however, keep this advice for my other plants! Thank you for sharing!
I recently did this 🪴🗑️ all thru my grow tent and it made me feel so much better afterwards. I was able to organize and prioritize as I went. Felt freeing
When ever I have had enough of a temperamental plant I tell it, 'your done, this is your last opportunity" cut it back, put it in morning sun and forget about and somehow it works. However these days I have no time for fussy plants. I love your big dog in the back ground towards the end, I'm sure your plants love him
@@leafletco❤ of course hun 😅I been watching you for a while now and I appreciate all the plant RU-vidrs that are still making content! So many have quit n it’s hard sometimes with life getting in the way. So I treasure OG RU-vidrs like yourself that are still making videos! Thank u hun ❤
I gave away and sold 75% of my plants. Turned the garden into a cement patio/party area. All the fruit trees are gone😢. A lot of my cacti and succs are gone. And some of my tropical plants. I kept all the expensive and rare ones
I am hunting a Monstera Albo because my one node produce all white leaves and died. I will be happy and love to pay shipping if you would share it to me🥰 i am a fan of your video and learn from you. My Thai Constellation still in Leca and Fluval Stratum they’re happy the substrate so I am leaving alone.
I’m currently doing some downsizing (plant collection). Believe me it’s super hard but I am looking forward to that fulfillment once they’re all in the hands of people who can give them love and care. I’m only keeping the ones that are actually giving me joy and also I can confidently take good care of. Also the ones that can go well with my aesthetic and complement my decor.
you really should grow them straight in the ground where you want them. they will die because they are so fragile when they are small. if you have to, use biodegradable planter pots for poppies. poppy seeds are weird. they can grow almost anywhere but don't enjoy pots. idk why your friend told you to do with wet paper towel method 😅 they're practically weeds bc they grow so good. transplanting is almost impossible though. that's why using the biodegradable pots is better so you can just throw them in the ground. they also prefer DRY conditions. many natural varieties of poppies grow around the middle east which is actually pretty dry and cold. this is also why they need a period of cold temperature before they germinate. not sure if you were aware of that.
you really really really should just plant them in the ground, not in a planter. just in the crappy soil you have at your home. direct sunlight. the seeds also need to be COLD for at least a month before being planted. you're a great gardener! but you're actually doing too much for your poppies and that's why you're having trouble
@@wmd40 that word is stratification I found out recently, if a seed is only active after a cold season. It makes it easier to search for tips now haha. Im literally trying to all the ways people here have had success
@@Echo3_ thank you! with poppies the best bet is to just throw them on top of snow in the winter. the snow melts and the seeds will fall into the soil which is moist as well...and all the cold helps them grow. starting them inside is hard bc they are like weeds! they grow and spread easily almost anywhere but need specific things to start. im trying to start poppies indoors just bc i can. i have had the seeds in the fridge for months and i am going to try with biodegradable pots indoors. will let you know. i am more of a houseplant person so this has been very fun for me. thanks!
@@wmd40 thank you for the advice. I usually broadcast seeds that have been in the fridge once the outside temps are not going to get above that temperature for the rest of the year. Sometimes I get one or 2 pop up and they die off early in spring. I have 80,000 seeds pf all sorts of poppies so this year I’m going to try a big of everything. Oddly the garden I have success year after year is the partial to half sun garden in my back yard and a large pot in the front yard. All the gardens designed to have the best success never give me anything. I think anything I put love in to dies or never comes back , so is my life 😂
