Hi Roger. I finished rebuilding my CNC router and tweaking it in. It has the SMC controller. I'm wondering how you check and calibrate the feed rates so they are correct with the speeds you set in your G-code. Thanks.
Hello, thanks for the information. I would like to ask if a Windows laptop would work as well and how to physically connect it to the CNC machine. We have a 1300mm by 2500mm CNC 3D router and we want to control it with a software rather than the richauto a11e hand held controller
My question to you is, it worth up grading the board to be Lightburn compatible? I use light burn on my other diode lasers. I want to use the K40 to cut and engrave plexiglass.
I purchased a Vevor K40 from ebay, the seller said it was new but when I received it the bulb was broken and the case lid was bent, I contacted them and they refunded me $100. So I kept it bought a good bulb for $125. I found your youtube channel and this instruction you are giving is really helping me align everythng. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Roger, thanks for this information! I am running Mach3 on an older PC winXP which sadly is not booting up... It's been a while, but was wanting to run my mill on my newer PC win10 64 bit. I was using C11G BOB/parrallel port on the old PC ..what would you recommend as an updated motion controller? I read that small USB red board you use in another vid is not win10 compatible? Hoping not to have to redo too much, I have also read about the UC100 but don't think that works with 64 bit...thanks in advance!
I've been wanting a wood lathe all my life and finally bought one for my shop...at 62. I cannot wait for tomorrow to tear into it! Thanks for your very simple video! This is the exact same lathe I just bought as well, I also bought the 36" extension.
Roger, there is a big difference between Windows 10 home edition and Windows 10 professional of the files in the software especially when it comes to DLL files, If you have Windows XP professional DVD Software there and I'm sure it will drive old interface bored, Just on one PC desktop you can have two different Windows running on the one hard drive there by partition the hard disk drive as in like Windows 10 and also Windows XP with the installation, when powering up the PC it will give you an option of Windows 10 or XP too load up
Good morning 🌅, very interesting but a bit beyond my knowledge, how ever you mentioned automating lathe, I purchased a MCN KONTOR 1500 semi auto , Sadly the automotive system of it has packed up, partly due to me as I tried to move my machine last year, I’ve got it onto a large trolley so I can move it, I went and pushed it sideways. The wheels moved but the machine Toppled over, whereby it smashed the carriage, I’ve now got it in its location, so I can use it for it’s just normal woodturning, I have been thinking about purchasing some linear rails and fixing them to the metal bed, to see whether I could make up a travelling table, On it again, So I think I’ll be watching your up-and-coming to tutorial, I am a retired specialist Joiner cabinet maker, I’m good with my hands but not so good with electronics, May need due to my age I’m in my 70s , I’m now retired living in France, look forward to seeing and listening to your next territorial,
Thank you Roger for the video. I setup my machine following the steps, including the Z axis using the probe. Unfortunately when I ran my machine, it moved lower than the wood on approach and snapped the drill bit on the side of my wood. Should we reset the Z axis in the same way you demonstrated with the X+Y?
Hi, you need to use Gcode mm (Tap) or Gcode inch (Tap) files Carveco Maker will generate them for you. My CARVECO/ArtCAM 5% discount code is ROGERWEBB5798 (ONLY AT THIS ADDRESS BELOW) store-us.carveco.com/collections/roger-webb-discounted-products store-us.carveco.com/?ref=B40mt_z8N7xiu
nice to see a small mill working good with a good size cutter and to see a good finish. would be nice if you setup a touch probe or a feeler guage as using paper is not that good as on harder metals you can have some aggressive cuts
2024 and for me PCs have been both entertainment hub AND TORTUTURE CHAIMBER! you get games/programs that just don't quite work on the newer OS like before or not at all. You try to jump to a variant of linux- some stuff works better than windows under wine, some not at all or did work but then doesn't pending each iteration of either OS or wine/software version. Its a constant see-saw! I got a version of windows to install on sata drives thanks to a tutorial way back to edit the iso (so my legit cd is just a cool shiny coaster now) as well as W7 that no longer registers due to a change in hardware. I figure i will just have to create a hard drive for each OS or keep them on there own machine offline....
Can I ask, why do you put a plate under the laser when you auto focus ? I thought it was set to focus on the material to be cut., thanks for all the help by the way
