I need help thinking about it. I messed up, so I mainly got B's and C's more so C's than B's and i just graduated is it possible for me to do something about it and hopefully join yhe the academy?
Not if you’re trying to get into the academy. I got a 1320 and didn’t get in last year. I’m taking it two more times before I put in my final application this year. Keep studying and aim high. Good luck, hope you get an appointment
A 1200 is the minimum to be considered "competitive". It does not necessarily DQ you from consideration but you need to have a strong, well rounded application. There is also Prep School that could be an option with lower ACT or SAT scores.
I’m currently a senior and didn’t really do anything while I was a freshman sophomore and junior, but I do plan on raising my GPA and try for varsity track this year, I also will try to take my sat this year since I didn’t my junior year? Any tips?
Hey man! I'm in my sophomore year too and I'm planning on going to USAFA or USNA as well. What are you academics like? Also I want to be an F-35 pilot (that's the goal) but any plane would honestly be a dream for me
@@eradicI'm also a sophomore and interested I have generally good academics like a 3.9 unweighted but I'm also in honors. I'm varsity track and cross country but I think I need to look into some more extracurriculars what do y'all do?
I finished my sophomore year! My GPA is a 4.5 but idk what it is unweighted since i do honors and stuff. I dont do sports but i do workout and do physical activities and i also do JROTC!! I want to be a fighter pilot! F-22 is the dream! I hope to see you all at USAFA !! Im applying for the Summer Seminar next year and hopefully will be able to get in to USAFA after my senior year! Im praying for yall! God be with you and guide your path to your dreams! 💖💖🙏🏽🫡 see you soon warriors!
You need a nomination, but if you didn’t previously serve then don’t worry about a nomination from your commanding officer. Getting a nomination is a requirement for all applicants.
You still have a shot, but you'll have to apply through your country ministry of defense though, the rest (of the requirements) are pretty much the same, the usafa accepts ~15 international students each year so it's going to be v tough, best of luck to you m8 + you can visit the admission website for more detail
Thanks for the video! It is a major goal of mine to be accepted into USAFA for the aerospace engineering program. I am going into my junior year of high school and I have a question about the application process. I am going into college starting as a freshman two years early through a program. This allows seniors and juniors in high school to continue on to college as freshman two years early in what would have been their junior year of high school. I will be starting my degree in aerospace this year with general ed classes this fall and will graduate at 18 with over 60 college hours, the year that I find out if I am accepted to the academy. Are college hours transferable at USAFA? I also have a question about athletics: I am active and I have consistently worked out for years, but haven’t been on a sports team since middle and elementary school. I have focused primarily on academics upon going into high school and have received high A’s every year (98+.) I am on the academic team, have been class president in high school both years, regularly volunteer for the Vfw veteran related functions, have hours of community service, owned my own baking business, beta club, student council, jr chef, art club, and have produced the high schools’ morning announcements for years. Are there any other extracurriculars that would help round my application out? Thank you so much for the video and information! I appreciate it!
Hello! I wanted to thank you for your work! I appreciate it very much! There's one question I wanted to ask tho, How much time should I be enlisted in the Air Force to ask squadron commander for the leave and help for application process? Can I enlist in the Air Force have a job for three months and apply for academy? Again Thank you very much.
Hi! I'm currently enlisted and got accepted into USAFA Prep. Personally, I would inform your Commander as soon as possible, especially if you're really willing to put the effort into applying to the Academy. It's a long process, but if you're really hungry for it, you'll get in without a doubt! Now, to answer your question: The LEAD program requires you to have at least 1 year time in service if you're stationed stateside. If you're stationed overseas, it's required that you at least have 1.5 years time in service. Either way, you'll still need to complete a DEROS waiver that your Unit Commander will have to also sign. Hope this made sense! If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks a lot!!! I’m currently applying for entering on 2023 but I’m not completely sure whether to take the ACT in addition to the SAT exam. Do you know if I get any extra credit for doing both?
I too am applying for entrance on 2023 and no, I don’t think you get extra credit for taking both. Personally, I’ve been studying for the SAT every night for 45 minutes to take it on August 27. I was stupid and waited until the last minute, so I only get one chance at the SAT. Also, I’d love to talk to you about the process, we can answer each other’s questions. May the dark side of the force be with you, Lord Vader.
@@benvanderbok6092 How's that going? I'm actually a freshmen in-college doing AFROTC and am doing my SAT in November and hopefully still submit a application. I didn't believe in myself as a senior in highschool so here I am
@@Justin-bz7ed I can relate to that, I have a hard time believing in myself too, with a 3.34 weighted GPA. My application is riding on my SAT results (which should release soon), and my CFA results. I finished my essays for my congresswoman just now, and I am submitting my nomination application. I still need 1 letter of rec, and I need to finish my resume. The truth is, time is ticking away. I advise you get to work right now on your application, if you haven't already. Take every SAT until the application deadline, and even after the deadline, as I believe you can still change the submitted scores. Maybe throw in a few ACT's too. Where there is a will, there is a way. If I get rejected, I will re-apply next year, and the year after that. If they still reject me, I will be a commercial airline pilot. All paths lead to the skies for me. As long as you know what you're doing, and you try not to doubt yourself, you'll get to where you need to be. Maybe we will meet in Colorado Springs some day! Out of curiosity, what college do you go to?
Great Video! If you dont mind could you answer a question for me? Im finishing up my junior year of highscholl right now and I really am set on going to usafa. However, with all the covid stuff and school shutdowns my grades of my sohpomore year dropped a ton and now although I got all As this year, if I achieve that next year my gpa will still only be a 3.2 on a 4.0 scale. Ive taken around 7 ap classes, got a 33 on the act, am in the double A state band, first chair trumpet player in my high school band, I lift, and im part of the track team. Also I have hundreds of hours of community service. I want more than anything to get into usafa but I dont feel like im good enough to even be considered because of my gpa. Do you think I should apply or is it a lost cause? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
