Looks like the "new Roadrunner Bar/Grill. Nice! Live 1/2 the time just north in NV...hot here also. Thanks for the video, you've convinced me to come down and enjoy the cool water.🥵
Thanks for this. Just found your channel. I grew up in southern CA and used to visit Parker frequently when I was young. It’s a really fun place with lots to offer. I live on the east coast now and hate it. Can’t wait to retire and move somewhere back to the southwest. I’d consider Parker as a possible retirement destination. I’m in my early 50s so not that old, but access to medical care would be my biggest concern. Driving to Phoenix for a doctor appointment doesn’t sound so great.
Hello, and thanks for watching. I retired here in Parker 5 years ago. The cost of living is cheap. 2 years ago I broke my arm on my dirt bike. We have some great local doctors here, but I went to Lakeside medical in lake havasu and they were reasonably priced. I was back riding in 6 weeks.
Thanks for the information. That is good to know there is some decent medical care not too far away. Mind if I ask one more question? I’m thinking about visiting in February for the Parker Dam 500. Any good tips for a spectator? I’m seeing there are a couple spectator areas on Shea Road. I would be staying in town and not camping. Could I drive out the day of the race and find a decent spot to watch or would I have to camp out in advance? I’d be in some flavor of rental car so likely no off road capable vehicle and obviously no ability for camping. Thanks!
A few years ago, it was so easy to watch the race. Now, spectators have limited access. I don't even go anymore because. You need to buy a CRIT offroad pass just to drive up Shea Road from what people have told me, and you have your pay to park. A car can pull off into the parking area, but be very careful on Shea Road. It has a lot of open holes on the road that will pinch a tire. The best part of that Race coming to town is the Downtown Experience in downtown Parker. That's a lot of fun, that's a must see
Thanks very much! That was helpful. I will definitely do my homework on parking and the CRIT off road pass. Seeing all the trucks downtown does sound like a must see. Have a good one.
They should have known better than to shoot off fireworks with dry brush so near. The places we've done shows, the city has shorn the dried foilage and placed plenty of fire trucks around in case the fireworks start in fires. Also, you have to shoot one firework up to see how the wind affects it before setting the rest of the cannons in order to counter the wind. How the wind is at eye level and how it is where the fireworks are breaking can be massively different. One of our parks were in a gully so the wind above street level was vastly different from the way it was below street level. We had to adjust the cannons accordingly. If nothing can be mitigated, then the show shouldn't happen. That's just the breaks.
@@LESLASLESLAS The burning of fireworks releases a large amount of air pollutants, particularly sulfur dioxide (SO2), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), and particulate matter (PM) along with several metal salts, for example aluminum, manganese, and cadmium.
Not in the area at this time, but it makes me hoping that the Roadrunner is going to do well soon. Trying to get my wife to agree to relocate to the Keys!
I'm retired also, it gets over 100 degrees, I have to really think do I want to take that side-by-side out or not. We have Ranger, so I can pack a bunch, but still worry about being stranded... Maybe a bike rack for the back with an EV bike? Maybe shoulda kept my Wrangler? No perfect solution, but you are right, just don't too far out in the heat w/o backup rigs. Great video, makes me go south from home in NV to our place in Parker...
I've learned from your videos to always keep folding chairs in my Ranger, along with my cooler. Makes chilling in the middle of our desert a great experience!
Great video, I need to get back to the Keys soon! Friends said there was a huge thunderstorm a couple of days ago. Thanks for the great reminder of why I love the area! 👍
Odd to see what looked like a legit RV hook up pole with an AC plug and a water spigot. Would have been fun if you'd have check that out. Cool lil outing though.
You have a good eye for details. Yes, I was checking that out too. They made it look like a real RV hook up. It's just a cool prop, complete with a phone charger cord. 😅😂
Yes. I live in Parker. The area I'm at in this video is known as the goatman area. Just north of the Off-road race pit. I think the rooster bar is in that area somewhere.
That's gonna put you pretty close. It won't show up on any aerials as it is too new. I'd take you out there today, but I've got a nasty cold and don't want to spread that around. I can probably run out there with you towards the end of next week..
those rocks are on Indian land, and you cannot collect anything on Indian land unless you are Indian, if those guys got caught, they would be in big trouble, they were probably looking for fossils in rocks after you split them in two.
This is not what the Parker 400 should be. This race was never a “Pay to view” event. Sorry I didn’t go because of this. Hope in the future the Parker race p, whoever is putting it on returns to the roots of this desert race. Don’t change the course to block off spectators and charge a fee to see what was free. 😢
There are no emergency exits on that coach, The guy got burned us pretty good, got flown to Vegas something to keep in mind when shopping for a coach, because this didn't have an emergency exit
