I would say that the song is more suited to a character who has been barely on holding on to the light but something has happened to have them finally snap and the darkness over takes them and the one who commited the deed, is about to get totally WRECKED beyond their wildest imagination!
The lyrics of the song have meaning to them that apparently hint to later in the series according to manga readers. Wondering how long until we get season 2.

The original version feels very quiet and intimate in tone to me, so I wouldn't have thought it and "epic" would go together. This is really cool and sounds so lush! Kudos on the really unique percussion rhythm in the chorus.
