Another impressive production. But what are the animals? I couldn't identify any of them.
@ChineseOpera8

Thank you David! Yes,.. The title of the school is '5 Family 5 Animals' [ GGM. Ark Y. Wong's combined school name ] , but on the hatchet form the animal shapes aren't used. This a '5 Family' form. :) In the '5-animal' forms however, they are Tiger, Dragon, Panther, Snake,& Crane.

Very nice. Especially seeing "pre" Tia Chi movement. Thought the "reverse" foot step movement was very interesting and would really like to an application of that.

This is an older Taoist style from the Wudon Mountains that predates and was one of the threads that eventually led to Tai Chi. Here's a video of Master Helen Liang doing it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pHDYutnNBB8.html Here's another video of her doing it faster at a demo: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cFnTi8bxAGk.html

he may not be fast or young by comparison to the more spectacular performances on you tube, but he understands something most of the masters and competitors on you tube don't. he moves in a way where he doesn't risk cutting himself. His Kung Fu has real, practical comonents.

It’s a Hakka lion 🦁 not a China lion
@ChineseOpera8
@ChineseOpera8 3 года назад
well , Chinese in general...it is also in Taiwan. Different people and villages in China , including Hakka. :)
@ic3385
@ic3385 2 года назад
i think a hakka lion is more boxed shape.. this is a hokkien green lion.. i get the confusion both are green and they have the "wang" character on the forehead.. however the difference is the head, one is flat and one is boxed shape
@ChineseOpera8
@ChineseOpera8 2 года назад
@@ic3385 Hakka uses the wooden box shape Lion as well as this flat face. Depends on the kung-fu school...a lot of variations. :)

@@ChineseOpera8 ohhh.. but it looks so much like a hokkien green lion, the flat one
@ChineseOpera8
@ChineseOpera8 2 года назад
@@ic3385 I agree! Right'...it is, but if you listen to the video again, I mention that it covers Taiwan, FuJien, (Hakkien),& Hakka. It's even performed in some Southern areas of China proper. Just depends on the family lineage. :)
