I drove WMT buses in early 1990s until 2011. I was at the long closed Quinton bus garage then Yardley Wood garage. Fleetlines were bloody hard work on a long shift, great in the snow though unlike the Metrobus. Lynx was magic, fast too but full of rattles and bangs especially the drivers cab window rattle, had to stuff with cardboard to silence the rattles. Wonderful days that cannot be repeated, not ever.
So many of these buses I remember, especially in that bus station. I'd have been 6 at the time and I hated it. I just remember it being loud, dirty and really dark. Disappointed I didn't see a "Little Red Bus Company" bus in this. Must've only ran a handful of times but we got it going to school and I thought it was so cool because the driver had the radio playing!
Travelling on West Midlands buses has become an absolute nightmare. Almost EVERY journey there's someone kicking off or blasting out music on their phones. Making the journey utterly miserable for every other traveller! There used to at least be signage up asking people to respect other passengers. Did they take them all down for fear of upsetting those creating the nuisances?!
I've been on E062 on the X1 last month, the bus was really crammed, these EVs don't suit the X1, the also only go 160 miles before change and very frequently has to be replaced by another
Why have National Express withdrawn thier 880 Eurolines route to Dublin from Leeds/Bradford, Manchester, Manchester Airport, Liverpool, Chester and Holyhead? And on the connecting route via Birmingham to connect with the 871 from London Victoria to Dublin at Birmingham, why are fares on this route twice the costs of SailRail? There is a strong need for direct services to Dublin from Manchester and National Express should be operating services from Manchester Shudehill to Dublin via Liverpool (using P&O ferries) direct to Dublin Busaras in conjunction with Bus Éireann/Transport for Ireland
Good video National express Coventry your new electric zero emission buses in Coventry and i will miss your normal buses but still good to see the new electrics join in.
