One thing about this scene, or actual i think its right before this part, Tony is eating the lemon out of the wash cup. Those cups are used by elites to rinse but he is eating out of it. It shows hes still directly from the gutter , unsophidticated, and hungry, and no one else is. Very interesting small detail there
The whole movie is great. It it hard just to choose one scene. Sosa to Tony ''I like you Tony, there is no lying in you''. Sosa to Tony ''I only tell you one time Tony, don't fuck me Tony, don't you ever try to fuck me.''
Tony knew this was his chance to make his move. His ambition was what saved him, wanting to be a partner shows he want there to make a business deal. Where as Omar was so insistent on buying 200 keys like a snitch would do even though Tony was moving towards making a huge deal.
The snitch just wanted to do the deal for the bust. Lopez could see Tony was in it for the long game. I never noticed the guy behind them was the guy who killed tony. Wonder if he's in more scenes.
It's ironic that for all of Tony's ruthless ways, his morality in the end was his undoing - not assisting in that assassination was what angered Sosa to commit fatal revenge but then again wasn't Tony just a rich disposable pawn to him in the end?
Tony knows his shit. He is rambling off specifics. He could have said, “Planes, helicopters, and soldiers.” But instead he laid down specific aircraft nomenclatures and military personnel capabilities. It’s the difference between “we have a few” and “we have 4.35.” The former says you are accurate, the latter says you are precise.
Its the best cause feels rhe most real of sll scenes cahse sound design camera angles and all those details also actors playing extremely relaxed and good
Definitely on of my favorite scenes. But I also like a little later when Mr. Montana flip tosses the binoculars back to Mr. Sosa and tells him to make a move lol.
From the looks of it, Tony (respectfully) told Sosa the truth. Sosa knew it too. It seems like Omar just wanted to agree to whatever price Sosa said. He probably wantsd to make the deal and rat him out once he got home. That never happened of course.
Tony is from Communist Cuba. Affording a lemon to eat is luxurious. Etiquette is far from survival. Can't say things are any better than that anywhere else now. Haven't had a steak in awhile. 4 years ago my grills were virtually non-stop smoking. Sorry. I went political. FJB
To me, the scene was ambiguous. 'You want me to believe Omar was a stoolie because Sosa said so?' These guys are are so ruthless they may have made that up to get a deal. Then again, Omar was a snake.
