When I finally got smart and bought a nice Gretch, what really surprised me was how playable Gretch is, versus what I thought. Poor access on the high frets are the only exception from my experience. Really great guitars. Expensive Guitars are better, but the improvements slight of return per dollars spent. My opinion, have one great guitar, rather than 10, ok guitars. Enjoyed the video.
Sounds great dude. Excellent eq work imo. I feel like it’s a hidden secret that a lot of great guitar recordings have very little low end. Great playing as well
I have a US Professional, a hot rod Partscaster Tele, and a Player series. I love all three. The Player series is awesome and as good as the others. A great deal!
If your guitar looks cool, you pick it up and play more. If you’re playing more, you’re getting better. If you’re getting better, you’ll sound better. So yes, the nicer headstock actually does make you sound better 🤣
Agree 100%! The difference is quite subjective, maybe in the long run since the American one has more Stainless steel hardware so it would be likely to be more resistant to wear and tear but then again, it depends on the player.. Also, I know the Mexican and American ones use Canadian maple and American Ash or Alder for the body. So given that the QC control on the Mexican factories is quite good, choose the one you can afford and you'll be fine.

On this end I felt the falcon had a brighter tone. I could hear a higher quality for sure. Idk about a 3000$ quality jump, but maybe a 1500$. It's kind of a difference between the player and professional strat. I play my dads mexican or player in today's terms, and my American feels and sounds leagues above. I never noticed until I had one. The ampro has more sustain, its brighter with more tonality. They do sound simular, but it makes all the difference when playing.
Literally bought a 15 today. Really like it. Don’t know if it’s close to a Bassman/JTM45 or a BluesJnr as I’ve never played them. But I picked mine up revalved and freshly serviced for £300. I’m happy. The neighbours not so much 😂
Played both in store and while the player series is a killer guitar the fit and finish on the pro II is definitely noticeable. Not quite worth the price though. Thinking of going with the American performer! Awesome intro btw
They ALL sound GOOD Benno! I was surprised with the Hilo'trons. A bit more scooped than the Dynasonics! And the Filter'trons just had tons of mid PUNCH! Nice 1 mate! Where about in Oz are you?

My favorite Gretsch is the Brian Setzer sparkle green Hot Rod. Holy crap I bonded with that guitar. But it's 3,200 bucks so I'm going to go with a 5420 instead at 800 bucks. Not the same, but still, it will scratch the itch and sound pretty good!
that jazzmaster sounds great! do you know what pickups does it have, or what model of Jazzmaster it is? Because there's jazzmasters that sounds like trash and others very good... this is a good one...
Unique moves, Ben. That's a welcome thing on RU-vid, where guitar cliches abound. I've always been able to tell Jazzmaster from Jaguar instantly, and your demo shows why: Jazzmaster gets deep vibrant tones that are great for blues as well as clean jazz. The Jaguar is a plinky sounding surf guitar with no sustain and no range. It would be interesting to add a Strat to the mix next time. In fact, swapping Strat, Jazzmaster and Jaguar pickups into the same guitar body. That would tell the tale.
The Falcon is so much more open and expressive. Sounds like the Electromatic compresses quicker, doesn’t have the top end clarity, and minimal difference between positions. Think about this.. if you’ve got mates going into studio they’ll be calling to borrow the Falcon… no one will be calling to borrow the Electromatic…
Yeah good take! As many have pointed out in the comments and I mentioned in the video, the electromatic has humbuckers which will definitely be more compressed and less open sounding compared to the dynasonics in the falcon 🙏🏼
Money wise and affordability I bought the MIM Fender Player Telecastor, and I don't regret it. I prefer it over my USA Fender 40th Anniversary Stratocaster for playability and sound.
That's a hard question to answer... Without having all of my gear and my hands it might not be possible... A good place to start is having your amp/amp sim just on the edge of breakup. So not fully clean and not fully overdriving, but somewhere in the middle. And then a touch of hall reverb and I think you're off to a good start! Might have a gear rundown video at some stage so stay tuned 🙏🏼
It’s a great little “bedroom” amp. Or practice amp. It will do everything. Literally. I own this amp, my favorite setting is low gain stage, with gain and volume cranked. Everything else at noon. You can roll off guitar volume for clean, and roll up for dirty. The reverb is always at 2 1/2 to 3 for me. Cons are nobody will work on the thing.
Great vid, and great playing. Great combo with the White Falcon and the Dynasonics. Just the right amount of break up. I Have a WF with TV Jones. I love it, but may have to look for a Duo Jet with Dynasonics. Are they single coil or like a mini humbucker? Anyway, thanks for a great vid. 👍🏼

It’s a good question! Neither sides of the pedal are super mid heavy. I’ve never had any problems with not cutting through. I guess if you’ve got a strat into a deluxe then it might not have enough mids? Hit it with a tube screamer!
I currently have a 2014 MIM standard. It's fit and finish matches all of the USA models. No fret sprout, no finish cracks at the neck joint, everything is aligned perfectly. I made two changes, I installed Vintage 64' pickups, replaced stock tuners with slotted shaft (no lockers needed) and it is perfect.
