Hiiii :) my name is Paige, you can expect to see a little peek into my life through vlogs and some beauty videos here there on this channel. Subscribe so you don't miss anything that is still to come xx
Hi Paige my fiancé and I love your video and are looking into booking here. Dreams recommended going through a travel agency for a larger room block and better rate for our guests. Did you do this for your wedding? Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!
@@MichaelMeeks-u7g we used a travel coordinator - Vacationeeze (seen in description) and loved them. The owners were super knowledgeable of Dreams too which was so helpful!!!
Hi! I'm late to this vid but I've been looking into this place for a wedding lately. Do you know if you need a certain % of guests to stay there to have your wedding? I'm trying to avoid that stipulation as some of my guests might want to stay somewhere cheaper
Love this! How many days did you stay before the wedding? What freebies did you receive, any upgrades with the room? What was a deposit like and that process?
Hello! Thanks so much for this video! I am interested in planning a Dreams wedding in Punta Cana! Do you have a list of questions you brought to your wedding coordinator for the resort you wouldnt mind sharing?
Hi 💖 congratulations!!! I do not have a list of questions saved unfortunately - we definitely asked as we went while planning (via email) and our coordinator was always helpful!
Congratulations @janm5170! I am just starting my wedding planning process and would love to hear how this turned out. I would be very stressed with no contact within 2 weeks of my wedding.
Hey Paige thanks for the video it was so helpful im getting married dec 2024 at dreams cancun! I was wondering if you upgraded for flowers and how much that was? Also how much was the dance floor? Did they also provide wedding welcome signs?
Hi - congratulations!!!! So exciting! I can’t remember the exact price of things at this point but I do know that the welcome sign(s) we’re around $200. I did update my bouquet - it was not cheap but I did love it! I think it was ~$300 to upgrade it! The dance floor was somewhere around $1k - they give you options on size etc too so it can vary of course :) I hope this is helpful! If you all do the beach for the reception, the dance floor is a must for sure with the sand! It would have been not so great without it so I have no regrets there!
Yes we are doing beach for all 3! Thank you so much I’ve asked and they haven’t responded so I wanted to see how much I should expect to spend. Thanks again ☺️
@@MichelleMorales-qu6dd no problem :) We definitely didn’t get a direct contact for questions etc until a couple months before our wedding! Also, our prices were mid-Covid times so I would expect them to have varied since then!
We just got reimbursed for every 5th room! No upgrades lol. But the day before we arrived they did upgrade my husband and I’s room which was nice :) this is based on availability I believe though!
Not sure on the exact amounts for that as our guests were from all over the US and their flight costs were all different. We definitely kept this in mind when choosing a destination - we figured Mexico would be easiest for most of our guests compared to further countries from the US etc!
Hi, our wedding is on March 3rd, 2023 I have a similar guest count of 22 rooms, with around 47 guests. I was wondering about the amount of your reimbursement for every 5th room (if you don't mind me asking?) A majority of our guests selected Garden View. I love the video so helpful your wedding was beautiful! <3
Hi!! Congratulations 🥰 You will have a BLAST! We definitely did get every 5th room booked reimbursed about a month after the wedding - I can’t for the life of me remember how much exactly (and we had some guests do the pool view cheaper room so those rooms where refunded first) but whatever the cheapest rooms are will be x4 (for 22 rooms!) back to you! Hope this helps a little bit :)
@@paigeelizabeth8723 this is a long shot but would you be willing to jump on a quick call with me for a few questions? We're two months out and the nerves are definitely setting in...
hey paige can you tell me how you initially provided wedding info to your guests? did you put your travel agent contact info on your save the dates? did you wait until the travel agent created the room booking website to send out save the dates? any tips? thank you!
Hey Sarah! We just sent out the booking brochure to each of our guests separately via text! And we also included it on our wedding website that we listed on our invites for reference as well :) Hopefully that makes sense!
Hi! We did do the 3 hour reception - I know there was an option to add an extra hour on for an additional cost but we did not do that and it was perfect for us! I’m not sure if you could trade the hours around; you would have to ask a coordinator! Hope this is helpful :)
Hi! Thank you so much for the helpful video. Did you have someone you worked with at Vacationeze? I’m looking into a travel agent? Also, how was room rates?
Hi! No problem :) We worked with Jack and Sharon directly - they own the business I believe :) Room rates were alright when we booked because it was mid Covid - they have likely changed since then! Vacationeeze would get these prices for you and provide them
Hi:) Congratulations, and Thank you so much for your videos, they are very helpful:) Can you please tell me how the "Every fifth room free" works? With all inclusive packages, each person staying in the room is paying around $2500, so how much would you get back for the free rooms? Does this money come back to the Bride and Groom? Also, is this option available only in the Beyond package? Thanks so much:)
Hi! Thank you! Yes - literally just every 5th room you get reimburse to the bride and groom (a check, 2 weeks after everyone is back home!). We had a handful of people do basic pool view rooms (not preferred club), so those being the cheapest in our group were the ones that got reimbursed for! But if everyone in your group got preferred ocean view - you would get every 5th one booked back unless things have changed since last year :) And yes - it is a perk of the Beyond Memorable package; other packages may include it also though - I can’t remember! They provide a brochure that lists out all the benefits of each package though :)
Our initial deposit went towards our room (so technically, no) but it felt free because it was 6 months after our deposit lol. And no to flight either!
When are the payments due? Also, I know you mentioned you invited 90 people and only about 50 went. Did you have to initially commit to 90 and pay the difference when they didn’t show up?
Outside of our initial deposit to secure our date etc, we paid the full remainder amount the day before the wedding at the resort! As far as the amount of guests - our package was set for a specific amount of people (I can’t remember exactly but I think it was like 49-79?) so we based our invites off of that max amount but also had a list of “for sure yes’s” and just planned accordingly! In the end, we definitely didn’t “have” to pay for every person we invited. Only the people that were all signed up to go! By that 3 month prior mark you should know 95% of that confirmed # of guests and just plan for those :) Hopefully that makes sense!
Not sure what you mean by this exactly? But it wasn’t busy for us in Jan! Although Covid was a bit ramped up during that month post holidays so could have made a difference maybe!
@@paigeelizabeth8723 did you feel safe there?? Thats my biggest concern. Want to book our wedding but being young parents of 2 young boys it's my biggest worry
@@jadejones9708 We did, yes! Coming home after our trip, we had no concerns and didn’t hear any from our guests either! Dreams Playa is nice as it is off the main strip of resorts/busy areas. Obviously it’s still Cancun, but we definitely didn’t have any concerns!
Hi Paige! Currently planning my wedding here. Did you go with the recommended DJ or choose an external DJ? If you did go with the hotel DJ, how was your experience with them? Thank you!
We went with the hotel one! NO regrets - they were awesome!!!! Verified all our songs and song lengths. He was so fun and did a GREAT job with the playlist! (We just chose the first and last dance song but said usual wedding dance music for the rest and it was great!!!)
Tysm for the tips! I have a questions about tipping for the entire wedding, how did you go about tipping for like outside vendors and included vendors? I’m assuming this isn’t included in the total price? Also when you paid everything did you have any last minute surprise charges that you were shocked about or everything was clear? Currently looking into having my wedding here thank you ☺️
Our guests tipped our wedding day staff accordingly (definitely important but the staff don’t expect it but of course they deserve a bit.. But we didn’t our wedding day but did throughout the rest of our trip!). For outside vendors, I googled each of them tbh because i wanted to do right too - we did 20% for companies and $100-$200 extra for self owned vendors (ex. Our photo/video was family owned!) We didn’t have any last minute charges that surprised us - they’ll go through your entire excel sheet with the budget attached a day or two before your wedding day to ensure everything looks good to go and that’s when you’ll do the full payment too :) Our experience was pretty up front and clear
Nope! The resort pays them after everything’s complete I believe :) and yes they helped our entire group book rooms and then the airport transportation in MX! Our guests booked their own flights and sent over the info to vacationeeze
@@marikazabat2935 we had to have our resort reservations in and confirmed with vacationeeze 3 months in advance I think! But the invitation process we started about 9 months before so our guests could plan accordingly!
I need HELP I don’t know where to go or what steps to take I’m planning to get marry around April next year, what are the websites to look at packages and all that
Congrats!!! I’d start here www.amrcollection.com/en/resorts-hotels/dreams/mexico/playa-mujeres-golf-spa-resort/events/weddings-honeymoons/wedding-packages/ And then make sure you email the wedding team (it’s listed on the Dreams Playa website somewhere!) and get the process of contacting them started (we found it sometimes it can take them awhile to respond so be patient and ensure you follow up if you don’t hear back!) Hopefully that helps!!!! Xo
I posted a video all about our day! See 2 videos prior on my channel 🥰 Hope it answers any more questions you may have - but no, all of our flowers were provided through the resort and our resort coordinator ordered them for us!
Thank you for all the info! So helpful ! It lead to us booking our wedding here for December 2023! What location at the resort did you choose for the cocktail and reception?
First, congrats!!!!! You will have the time of your life 🥰 We did the beach for all 3 (ceremony, cocktail, and reception!) as we didn’t want our guests to be walking around everywhere all night - worked out great! But I think if you did a different location for the reception etc it would work just fine!
Hi! Thank you so much for this video! I am planning on getting married there next year! I’m just waiting a respond from the hotel so I can finally figure out everything.
Who was your officiant in Mexico? Did you use the minister that they provided or did you have your own? I already asked one of our guests to be my officiant but I saw we were charged on the spread sheet for a minister.
My dad was ours! If I remember correctly, when we filled out our spreadsheet the fee was only for the resorts provided officiant. Could have changed since then! I would def recommend using someone you know as we felt it made it more meaningful :) but of course totally up you y’all!
Was that because everyone was staying at the resort? Also did you have any guests stay at surrounding more affordable resorts that didn’t have access to the all inclusiveness?
@@jenw7959 not exactly sure the exact details on the requirements or if there are any… we were never given an option so my best guess is it’s just given when you book a wedding there regardless of guests reservations etc. (since it is an all inclusive resort). We had a few that looked into staying else where close by but ended up at the resort in the end so not sure! I’m pretty sure they get access to everything for the day if they pay the $150 entry fee for the day
@@paigeelizabeth8723 ok that's good to know - they mentioned that but I was nervous when they said they'd provide one a few months before the actual wedding day.. but it seemed it worked out for you!
@@ashleygolebiewski8406 I had the same worries! And they told us we’d hear from her 3 months before and it turned out to be 2 so i was stressin a little! But she got everything done for us no problem! I think as long as you have all your stuff picked out (or just ideas w pictures etc) to send to her, as well as the excel formed they send you filled out you’ll be set!
@@paigeelizabeth8723 What about lights/vendors, etc on the beach? Did you shop around outside of the Dreams or did you just pay the fees for this without shopping? I'm on the fence with obtaining a wedding coordinator to handle all without extra $ nor stress. I just wanna show up, get married and party LOL
@@roband2000 we just paid for any specific lighting we wanted! Ceremony was still daylight so for the reception with did a fairy light tent (my dream and I thought it was so worth it!!) and to my best memory everything else they kinda lit if needed etc. The coordinator they provide with the resort does the work once you pick out what you want - I wouldn’t recommend getting an additional imo! We wanted the same (no stress, pretty, party ready etc) and our day worked out perfectly! Marcela took care of all the set up, rehearsal, our wants/needs, everything!
Loved you wedding and story! I’m actually going to plan my wedding here. Do you think it’s necessary to hire a wedding planner (excluding the coordinators on site). Do you think it’s beneficial to have some more hands the day of the wedding besides day of coordinators?
I would say no! We only had Marcela and she took care of EVERYTHING for us (from the resort so excl. Photo/vid, hair/MU for us). Granted our wedding was only 50 people so definitely a bit smaller - if you have a larger guest list then I’d maybe ask your resort coordinator if they think it’s needed at all. Seemed like they know how to handle huge weddings though, in my opinion! Hopefully that made sense!
