I love this interaction between them two cause it's really funny, I love the fact Emu can tell her smiles are fake so she's terrified of Mafuyu when she fake smiles lol- it leads to such heart warming interactions!!!
I think people are like mirrors sometimes, at least in my opinion. If a person is being nice to someone, they would usually respond in a similar manner, and have no reason to be sassy (unless if it's their whole personality) An often tease and poke fun after him, and Ena is often mad at him. On a different case is Emu. Even though Emu acted so cheerful and happy to Akito, he finds this bothersome, so he became sassy. In this case, Kohane's just asking a question, and she did it nicely. There's no reason for him to be sassy
