We are not under tithing (Matthew 17:24-27). That was for the Levites so that they would be taken care of. God had given them his portion, which is called the 10th. The Levites did not have a land inheritance, so they received 110% from their brothers in total. Of that, they gave a 10th to the priesthood so that it could perform the work of God and be sustained. This means the tribe of Levi also gave tithes. But the priesthood never tithed because priests do not tithe to one another. If you are in Christ Jesus, who is a Priesthood of his own like unto the order of Melchizedek, how do you tithe to one another being that you are all are of the same priesthood? Functioning and laboring for the same high priest. We Are A peculiar people of a royal priesthood. Not just those who Shepherd but also the sheep. Every last one of us is of this priesthood in Christ Jesus. Your job title doesn't change this. Priest don't tithe to priest. Every saint and every believer is in Christ Jesus and is of his priesthood. We are Priestly people. We are not Levites who birth priests after the order of Aaron. We are the children of the almighty God and the bride of the resurrected king. Brothers, you get the free will offering and nothing else. If you want more, go to work for it. God's children are not under a tithe. We have our portion and all that we need in Christ Jesus, and so do you. You can't be more blessed than what you already are in Christ Jesus. The tithe was a shadow of what was to come. What we have in the Christ is the fullness of the Law. If the priesthood has changed, so to the law has changed (Hebrews 7:12). We in Christ have the spirit of giving. Who could have the Holy Ghost and hold back from God what he has moved them to give and still believe they are righteous? We are told to give according to what is purposed in our hearts and not out of necessity to gain anything (2 Corinthians 9:7). Have God not already made some who are givers to give (Romans 12)? We are required to give (Matthew 5:42). It is our free will giving that shows the spirit of our heart. Not tithing. It is our free will giving that shows our submission. Tithing is not the perfection in Yeshua. Tithing is a tax. Even when its pledged. Its still done in Partiality. It was A 10th given to teach. But now you are in the perfection of Yah in Christ Jesus. The fullness thereof. We are all 100% all in. You should believe Romans 13:6-8. It is just and true for the body of Christ. Not tithing which is a shadow; which is not the fullness in Yeshua. This is made clear all through scripture, even in Hebrews 7. Especially verses 11 and 12. But we the church, are all one in Christ. Did Christ pay tithes? Are you not his body? We freely give to build and nourish the body. We do not collect a tax from one another. That was a shadow for instruction. Even before the law of Moses. But it is Not the fullness thereof. .
Thanks for the dialogue. Your feedback with scripture to back it up is appreciated. However there are several men on the Bible study and we don’t know which brother you’re referring too. We understand the kingdom principle of the tithe and how it’s a spiritual law that exists before the 10 commandments were written in stone (the entire hebrews 7 explains) tithing is the physical reflection of what inside a man in direct relationship with TMH (access to direct relationship unto repentance is why Christ called us priests revelation 1:5-6), only Yah knows your heart. The tithe is a physical act, that with understanding, reflects your heart for Yah. Yeshua doesn’t need money, nor do his disciples, money is a thing that is added (Luke 12:30-31) to you in the kingdom and isn’t worthy to be sought after in that context. The disciples that are assigned to lead called out assemblies only receive guidance for what do with the tithes from Yeshua by way of the Holy Spirit. The word tells us clearly where to give in a general sense, the poor, the widow, the orphan, and to the lost sheep of the house. Anybody claiming to be disciple and using the tithe for personal gain or sustenance is in error and has to answer for that with The King of kings. If you ever find yourself delivering a message on behalf of the Kingdom that expresses to not give the first fruits of your increase to the TMH of whom allowed you to have a harvest, you are in error. If Christ didn’t believe in the tithe why did he use that woman’s tithe of “1 or 2 mites” as the basis for another example of the spirit of the law superseding the letter of the law, which the Hebrew’s of that time were carnal about. They thought it was about who gave the most in monetary value and what Christ showed them was that in the Kingdom the weight of value from the tithe is based off of the purity of your intentions, your faith, your obedience. As a royal priesthood, your are to lead the way of those who have yet to be granted their eternal robes, to the Lion of Judah, Yeshua, The Messiah. In the Kingdom we lead by example, faith by works not just with words that are not needful to the body. (James 2 breaks it down). Tithing is only one way to do so. In this bible study we are open to reproof, saints striving for the high calling of Christ. We stand on 2 Timothy 2:15, John 4:23-24 Ezekiel 33:5-6 & James 1:22. I encourage this type of dialogue about the word and appreciate the way you express your thoughts. I encourage you to go back to those scriptures you referenced and ask the Holy Spirit for more revelation. Each one refers to the body of Christ and the priesthood, I understand why you pointed those out. After taking time read each one, I see how without reading those passages in their entirety, how they can be used to explain away tithes. I’ve learned that context is everything. @@SpiritTruth16 Brother I too stand on all of scripture. Timothy 2:15, John 4:23-24, Ezekiel 33:5-6, and James 1:22. Especially 1 Peter 4:11. I believe what the scripture says, that there was always law and order and always will be. Even in heaven, and we know this without doubt by Satan's iniquity. Even in earth in Genesis with Adam we see the 10 commandments clearly. Not through their obedience but in their disobedience we see all 10 commandments broken. For there is no law judging the obedient but it is for the disobedient. Then again we see law given in Genesis 9 which the whole world that we have today was given by Yah, even Christ. Then the law of Yah given by Moses to Israel in Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Duetoronomy. Which is coined "the law of Moses", but it is the law of Yah, also Yeshua, which was relayed by Moses. The law is God's expressed nature in heaven and earth. Which is eternal. Which we still must obey daily. So yes, the shadows, even the tithe, was always in the earth until the fullness (Yeshua) had come. For Yeshua is the fullness (Colossians 2:9). I was clear on the question, "can we tithe into men." This is why I wrote. I believe I have studied sufficiently and sought God in this. I thought that was clear since I have only used his word and gave explanation. Not my own interpretation. But have given line upon line. I agree with James 2. He makes it clear that you are saved by faith, but that faith is unto God and the heart can only be seen by God. Your neighbor can't see what's in your heart. Therefore you express your faith to your neighbor by your works. But unto God by our faith in submission to Yeshua. So for my neighbor faith without works is dead. But for salvation, for justification, it is by faith alone (Ephesians2:8-9 & Romans ch 4-5). By this understanding our brothers Paul in Romans ch4 and James in James ch2 are not in contradiction with one another but are harmonizing the word of God by his one spirit. Showing the two Royal Commands of God (Matthew 22:36-40). But to the unlearned they seem to contradict. We are not such.... For we are his disciples. We know as in James 2 Free-will giving is a work brother and can be done to completion. Tithing is taxation and is done in partiality. It is not the fullness of the spirit we the church of God are of. It is a school master. A small measure, a limited means, and a restriction on the body of Christ. The body which we are in according to Matthew 17:24-27 and are all heirs. The tithe is a former thing. What we have in Yeshua is the fresh, the new pouring of the spirit unto new works by the same commands (Ezekiel 11:19, Ezekiel 36:26, Isaiah 43:18-19, and Romans 8), and we give cheerfully, even to our elders. You finally open up to God. God is the reason we change for the better. What happens is you fear hurting God. That is fearing God. Afraid to hurt Him because you finally realize we were created by our Creator God. Thank you for waking up to the truth. Your life is instantly better. You might still be hungry and homeless; moreover, the emptiness of love subsides and you become a real human. A nobody without God is gone. Whenever you study scripture in the English translation in order to understand the context and meaning of a word/ sentence get the Hebrew word and definition it was translated from for the Old Testament and get the Greek for the New Testament. The English word translated to “kill” in both languages is actually “murder”. So, that is not a Contradiction. Christ makes the spirit of this commandment you referenced, plain right here.. ”You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’ ”But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother without cause will be liable to the council;…,” Matthew 5:21-22
