Great video as always! How do find the F360? I’m struggling to get hold of any seekers from the shops around me and am tempted to grab some of these instead. How would you say it compares to the seeker?
At the time of making this video I would have said I preferred the F360 but I have now used it in more different situations and the seeker is in IMHO a better all round lure. In fact probably one of the most versatile ever. The F360 is great on the spin stop unfortunately I’ve lost it now but I shall be getting another. They are available at angling direct or veals mail order. In the UK
Great videos, was out this morning in Pembrokeshire and only manged a small pollock. I was the same climbing all over these rocks to try and get to a mark 😅 My white savage gear weedless did the trick. Can't wait to try out my sandy andys next week
Entertaining as usual , everyone has a bad period when fishing , bought a white seeker and still can’t catch on it , put on a sidewinder and caught a 38cm bass , small but welcome , I know there’s bigger

Got one as a back up. Haven’t used it in anger yet. Maybe this year. Prefer to use my Certates when I get the opportunity. Lost a good fly reel last year. Feel your pain.

Glad I tuned in for your mid week video as you suggested in the other video comments, the pencil does it! Good job! This conditions look bang on for that type of lure, love the emulsion finish, can't beat white.
Yeah they were perfect nice bit of surf and overcast but terrible amount of weed was getting about 3 or 4 meters before the lure was full of weed. Luck was on my side 👍🏻

Hey Raymondo thanks🙏 To be honest I thought it was going to be easier than it is ! When you have lures you know and love it’s difficult not to fish them. It’s certainly made me think more about where I’m fishing and what I’m using hopefully I’ll be a better angler by the end of the season.

Hi Dave, Yeah we fished on I think it was about 5 hours until I got another fish Kev didn’t get one but had a hit but didn’t hook up .. very tough! full of weed but we had driven 3hrs so had to stick at it !
I didn’t know what reel to buy for under £100 so I went for the Shimano Nasci and dead impressed with the quality for the bucks, your reel must be heaven 🏆
Been using red flying-c’s on the Lougher estuary here in Carmarthenshire. Caught bass to 9lb and if the bass aren’t biting I retrieve really slowly bouncing it off the bottom and catch flounder with it. Caught 8 in an hour and a half last week testing a cheap 9’ 15-60 gramme gx2 ugly stik that I bought for my grandson to use.
Thanks for the info When you say bouncing .. slow as in it’s not spinning? I’d like to catch a flattie next time I’m in that sort of environment I’m going to try it 👍🏻 How was the ugly stick ? Good value I guess ?
@@chuckitandsea Very slow retrieve so the spinner blade disturbs the sand as I skip it over the bottom. You can feel the flounder plucking at the lure as they chase it. I found the Ugly stik very floppy without much feedback, but it’ll undoubtedly be ok and pretty much bulletproof as my grandsons first rod.
Yeah the ugly sticks appear to be unbreakable from what I’ve read sure it will get him on the fish and hooked 👍🏻 Deffo give that a go when I’m in the right plaice pun intended 😁 🎣🎣
When you say 5000 it's actually the same body size as the 4000 just bit bigger spool and handle had the 4000s myself but moved onto the twin powers now a little tip get yourself some quality grease l use quicksilver high performance it's actually for saltwater use before using any reel handle off and opposite handle cover cap few drops of red rocket fule then cover the bearings with the grease same with line roller strip factory grease off if there's any on lol re-greas after a few trips re-do line roller never had one bit of problem with sticky bearings over the years 👌
Nice real and good choice. I switched to shimano but the saragosa because it has anti wind knot feature. Got 3 knots in one session with the penn, not a single knot yet with the shimano. Still early days but much lighter than the penn also. Happy fishing.
Fished with my Vanford c3000 for two seasons, lost count how many line roller bearings I replaced and bearings in the handle, even though she was washed down with fresh water after every session. Line lay and silky smooth winding was and still is hands down superior to my Penn Slammer 2500 DX.
Tbf im not the best at washing off every use I must try harder with this reel !! Looking forward to trying it out 👍🏻 slammers are work horses no doubt.
Yep I’m back In Lanzarote in November so that is part of the thinking ! Also plan to fish some very deep water off the paddle board wether permitting 👍🏻
Fantastic video as always Paul, I really do enjoy your channel. So honest and well presented. What lovely fish bass are but it’s not all about catching is it? Great location and your dogged perseverance paid off. Have only just dipped my toe into lure fishing with no success at the moment 😢. Must be a great buzz when you get a take. I have caught some nice bass on big lugworm baits in shallow water and tend to lure fish in between so perhaps I should concentrate on one or the other! Hi, enjoyed the video and watching your seeker technique, gentle sink and draw looks like a winner. Have you tried the Savage gear Pencil with the same sink and draw technique, I remember a guy last year doing this and had two Bass. On straight retrieve they fish very shallow, but if fish are deeper maybe worth a try letting it sink a bit.
Thanks for reply, yeah I guess if you are going to do sink and draw might as well use a seeker anyway. I can relate so much to only have 10 chucks with the unknown/mission lures and wanting to go back to the tried and tested ones. I'm the same with the weedless savage sandeel, it's a consistent catcher for me on my marks. I need to find some cleaner ground alongside the rocks so I can unleash the seeker, lost too many of them at my usual spots. I will look forward to the midweek video.
@@BYF1 yeah we certainly have our favourites but the only way to get new favourites is to fish different lures I guess all experience and hopefully making us more successful in the end 🤞🏻👍🏻
Lovely funny session fella. Seekers are the drug for bass I think. I've used them in tropical waters as well and the same, fish love them. I do prefer blue though so you can keep the whites. 😂

Another great video mate ..👌🏻how good are seekers !! Whenever I’m having a rough session .. trying lure after lure with no joy ive put a seeker on and hey presto .. ! Not everytime obviously but there a very safe bet that’s for sure .. can I ask what waders you use and what wading boots ? I take it your waders are the stocking type with neo socks attached ?
Thanks Mark, They are good plenty of ways to work them … if the fish are there and you work seekers in a few ways you will get that hit I’m sure. They Can’t resist. I’m starting to like the F360 tho maybe it will surpass the seeker 🫨 who knows.
Love the vids. Funnily enough seeker and flying c are my bankers lures. Love the way you make challenge lures to force yourself to diversify and try something new. The seekers are hard not to use very addictive, lost a black pearl and a white pearl today 😢😢😂

Or over known sand.. yeah the lure challenge had certainly changed my outlook it’s interesting how when they are on I just want them off and then like now I love a Toby !! The SG sandeel pencil and the Westin Goby v2 are two of my staple baits for sea run brown trout. They are always reliable catchers for me, but bear in mind that they are designed for shallow water, 1,5 to 3 meters maximum depth up to 20-30 cm sometimes. A couple of points: The SG sandeel pencil has different actions between the 13 and 19 gram versions. I don't use the 19 grams because it comes in like a dead stick, no movement at all. The 13 gram version has caught me a lot of fish, especially in brown and sandeel colours. I think it may be mistaken for both a ragworm and a sandeel by the fish. The line-through versions are all fantastic. The Goby V2 (or Moby) is great when there's strong wind or when you have to cast far. That, and the Westin Salty in 18 grams is what I use when I target big seatrout. Both the SG pencil and Westin Goby should be controlled by frequent spin stops, more than rod movements. And if you add a dropper fly, the chances of catching increases dramatically, but they work a charm on their own. So, if you translate that to bass fishing, save them for when you fish in shallow water or over snaggy grounds and the fish feeds in the surface.

Most of my Welsh bass fishing is done in very rough shallow ground I just need to up my confidence in them to use them more 👍🏻
@@chuckitandsea I look forward to it! All three baits are great, tried and proven baits. But as you mention, confidence is key to any bait, and that can only be gained by catching your first couple of fish on them and learning their quirks.
I'm from Cornwall, grew up lure fishing for bass before it was cool. Live in the Caribbean now where I can wade the warm flats outside my house and hook (and lose) big tarpon, bonefish or jacks but I'd rather be clambering over slippery rocks in the cold chasing bass then a pasty for tea on the way home.
Hey there,.. nice to see a real surf fisherman,... I'm saying that because I despise fishing with bait (it stinks) only lures & flies is how I fish.... Out here on the Westcoast stateside the surf is quite rough very unruly at times be we perserver and keep casting hard for Stripped bass,... there's just something about hooking big fish in the surf 👍😎🤙 Cool video,... they're not so big , but you are catching and not just fishing..👍👍👍
Thanks for the comment 👍🏻 I agree it’s nice to hook up in the surf it’s hard work standing waist deep getting battered by the waves but that makes the tug more worth it when it comes 🎣 tight lines
