I smoked 99% of all cigars from Cuba, including these two and the Behike line. Wide Churchill and Behike 52 are my favorite cigars. But considering that the Behike costs 10 times more, I find the Wide Churchill to be the best cigar for the price.
Although I have not tried the lancero the Montecristo Especial No 2 is an exceptional cigar. Super smooth with wonderful taste. It could be my only cigar if I could find them regularly.
The Montecristo Especial is also my favorite Lancero, but it's also the only Lancero I can find, and the only one that I can find around...I have smoked only two Fundadores in my life and I have never even seen the Cohiba Lancero..
Trinidad Fundadores is the best lancero in terms of flavor complexity and build quality at the moment, in my opinion. I also consider it a better comparison to the Cohiba Lancero in price point and flavor profile, vis a vis the Monte Cristo Especiales. I have yet to try Davidoff Signature No. 1, though. Cheers!!
Funny how cuban cigar lovers make excuses for Habanos SA. The price they charge should lead to a flawless draw and much lower overall defect rate. A Davidoff Signature No. 1, to me is vastly superior to any Cuban lancero. And I have tried them all over my decades of cigar enjoyment.
That was a really informative review, thankyou for taking the time to do these videos. Will you consider doing a non-cuban Lancero review ie Oliva Series v Lancero?
I’m intrigued to know why you don’t do a cold draw before lighting the cigar? Everyone has their own way when it comes to cigars I respect that, just interesting to know your thoughts on this. Great video 😊
Honestly, just never really been intereste din a cold draw. I don't think they're mush information to gain but that's just my own personal thoughts on the matter. If you get something out of the cold draw please don't think I'm saying you shouldn't or whatever, I'm just I don't personally care for it.
Generally really chocloatey cigars cost a bunch lol. I'd say for me chocolatey is Padron maduro cigars, they're very chocolatey. Cohiba can be too and maybe Partagas maduro. Unfortunately these are all relatively pricey cighars :(.
Couldn't wait to click on this. An MC Especial and Cohiba lanceros were literally the first two cigars I've ever smoked and hold a dear place in my heart. What I found most interesting with my experience with these two cigars is actually a mirrored opposite from yours. My especials definitely had a much tighter, harder to draw situation, which only improved after the halfway point. This happens more commonly than with the lanceros. With the lancero however, I found more them than the MCs that had better draws that were near consistent from beginning to end on more than one stick. In terms of flavour, the MC Especial was rich cocoa, coffee, and cocoa, cocoa, cocoa all the way. My own opinion is that the Lancero has a slight upper had in overall complexity. Bliss in milk and honey, buttery creaminess, vanilla hay and lightly peppered grass. If price wasn't taken into consideration the Cohiba wins. Include price, and MC takes the cake by far. Just goes to highlight the often 'hit or miss' construction of every habanos cigar in conjunction with our own subjective tastes! Thanks to you Cigar Inspector for putting out such great videos! Cheers.
No. Cigar aficionado works like this. They have several reviewers all over the country. They go buy the cigars, smoke them, rate them, then send in there results. The mag takes all of there ratings and comments, and averages them, and writes up there findings to sound like its one review. Sometimes the reviews the mag writes and short and sweet cause everyone responded the same, or without much variance atleast. And sometimes the mag hams it up cause its a huge release. Instead of just averaging the results, theyll put in history of the brand, story of how the cigar came to be, and sprinkle in the reviewers findings throughout to make the average read like its ALOT more then what was actually reported. This is exactly what happened with the Pledge. They are absolutely plain, and nothing special.
I really enjoy the libertador - as you mentioned the price in Europe is 245 for a box of 10. I really miss my Trinidad’s but even in Europe it’s just priced in a crazy way.
I can see why you got problems with those cigars, them baby hands are the problem 😂😂😂, man up and smoke an asylum 13 barber pole. You'd be crying your eyes out.
People talk a load of nonsense about cigars, but the people who smoke them at source have no time to be talking nonsense about them.. I am 30yrs in the cigar world❤
If you haven't been, go to Number 6 Cavendish. I'm from the states and went to London for the first time this summer with my family. Going to cigar shops was a priority for me on the trip. By far and away, Number 6 was the best shop. I went to. They had a main humidor with every Cuban imaginable. Additionally, they took me into a separate humidor that has hundreds of vintage cigars. That's not normally available for the public but the employees appreciated my love and knowledge of Cubans. I've never seen anything like it.
I know this was a year ago but here in Canada, more specifically Ontario, Cubans are become more scarce. Maybe a 3 year pause could help but the risk is, folk would turn to new world and then those customers will be lost. It would be a massive gamble. I personally feel Cuba are prioritizing China given they own a large share and need to meet their demands before the rest of us get our scraps. Could be totally wrong but that’s my guess.
Thanks for all the great reviews! . Is there any new world cigars you would trade for Cuban cigars - I have access to almost everything from the new world . Thought I’d throw it out there !
