The mission of the Henry Ford Innovation Institute (HFII) is to enhance patient care and research, training, and commercialization opportunities within Henry Ford Health System through innovation and creative ideation.
Established in 2012, the HFII is the flagship of Henry Ford Health's commitment to innovation and serves as both a physical and virtual resource. It provides healthcare innovators access to an array of intellectual asset-related resources and programs that include technological opportunity assessment, engineering services for prototypes, seminars designed to convey opportunities, programs aimed at developing specific medical products and broad educational offerings in the realms of translational medicine and the entrepreneurial arts.
HFII's operating philosophy is simple: Use innovation to improve healthcare and the patient experience.
Continuous suturing can cut through, and have a purse string effect. Interrupteds are ldeal, but time consuming. Thanks. Dr Barnabas Mathew Thiruvathira kalady road Desom Aluva-Kerala State India
*There is usually air inside the anastomosis, but this doesn't usually cause any problems for several reasons* : 1- Usually the amount of air is not large enough to cause air embolism. 2- In most anastomoses, the distal end of the anastomosis is released first to test the patency of the anastomosis at a low pressure, and then the blood at the site of the anastomosis displaces air from the seams of the stitch line, and then the proximal end is released to test the anastomosis under pressure. 3- the anastomosis is not air-tight until fibrin is deposited on the stitch line, and by that time, blood from the circulation would have displaced any remnant air.

I did this small procedure here in Canada, I felt Ok after 2 days, I started moving my finger normally. BUT, it is a temporary solution, because after 7 months I gradually started to feel that the trigger finer is coming back (for the same finger). Now, I have the same issue, and I think I need to re-do it again.
As a frequent flyer in the hospital, I love this gown but I am also a cardiac patient. I have to wear a cardiac monitor at all times. Most gowns have a big pocket on the front with a hole that feeds the leads through. Add that to this gown and you have an absolute winner!!!!
Dr. Draxler, I hope you showed how to sew the posterior wall first (from the inside of the vessel) going to the anterior wall, instead of flipping your graft model. By doing the flipping, it is not any more representative of an actual suturing.
i thought the same, it would have been better if they showed that is preferable to suture the posterior wall first, in real life we cant flip the graft.
@@siradolf . . . . . How come the stitching doesn't weaken the vessels? Essentially make them "perforated" for easy tearing? And how come blood doesn't leak out of the area at the join? Do vessels heal that quickly? Won't clots form there? Are the clots small enough to not cause embolisms? I have more questions than answers! Why didn't I go to medical school?! : )
Vascular patch is produced from polyester-urethane and is characterized by an excellent biocompatibility and provides long-term mechanical stability. The vascular patches market has a developing potential owing to the continuous technological advancement in the healthcare sector and growing geriatric population.
Hi Dr. Thank you for this video! My middle finger has the same problem. (Click and stiffness in the morning). I'm from Southern California. Where can I get this type of treatment in Orange County, California ? Please let me know...
Frank Kwok hi sir. i had the same problem last year. i had a trigger finger, actually fingers because i had it on my ring & pinky fingers. i underwent trigger finger release last december 10, 2016. the whole procedure only took more or less 15-20 mins.
I was treated by Dr. Ditmars one year ago after finding out about it here, and I am very happy with the results. I was able to continue working after only a couple of days. I carry tools and turn screwdrivers. I did not experience much pain related to the procedure. Most of the swelling subsided fairly quickly, but it was about 7 months until I could actually touch my finger all the way into my palm again. It was never close to being as problematic as the trigger finger was. I would do it again.

Hey bro, im a fellow lifter just like you. So how did the treatment go? was u able to lift with no pain after the injection immediately or did u have to let it rest? only 1 injection u had im assuming?
In 2006 I had my thumb flexor tendon cut and my radial collateral ligament torn. Later I had tenolysis and some tendon sheathing removed near the MP joint. My IP joint seems to be almost completely stuck now, scar tissue still continues to form on the face(which I remove), I can fell a lump inside where the A2 pulley seems to be and I can force some flexion in the IP joint with a frap strap and the thumb gets stuck there, joint jack wont break it loose either. Could you all fix my IP joint ?
