Do not post videos when you are clearly drunk unless its for comical purposes. The dirt road off of pedro clisante that you were referring to was bought and is being developed by a Russian guy in which is trying to sell many villas for around $289,000. Not to mention names but somebody gambled on the "pink zone" and lost about a million around the area you refer to.
This video should have way more views. People say that the justice system in colombia is very lenient in these crimes and the people who are caught are released after an unsatisfactory(by the court of social opinion) amount of time was served. They said they they are also scoping local colombians too now not just tourists It's getting really bad. The most frightening part about it is they were some of these tourist's who were kidnapped and robbed had been dating for months. Learned that from Red Beard's rants youtube channel he was an expat that lived there and threw parties but his friends starting getting kidnapped and robbed and he was getting infamous because of his parties but he left colombia now but his videos are still up. I wonder if the dominicans justice system will deter that type of stuff coming here.
I firmly believe that the government has grown tired of all the negative publicity surrounding Sosua Beach and the Main Strip circulating online. The turning point was when the President himself, along with the Ministry of Tourism, visited Sosua. Funds for development have already been allocated, and numerous outside investors are eager to get involved-it's clear that change is coming. Additionally, let's not forget the cruise ship visitors they're keen to attract once the town has been revitalized. Unlike previous presidents and politicians who only made promises without action, this time, the funds are in place. While I don’t think it's the end of Sosua, it’s definitely going to undergo significant changes.
@@GregBrown-gj3xg This is a great post. I see things the way you do. I am seeing the government doing the same steps they did with the first chrackdown, I've. Clearing the streets of chairs and motos, meeting with owners and police and fiscila from Puerta Plata in town. The first chrackdown had RU-vidrs promoting pay for pal like now.

If Dominicans dont want Prostitution, start enforcing the Law. If Prostitution is legal, dont say Vloggers are misrepresenting Sosua, and dont worry about it.
@@bipolarpunt5721 thank you for your comment. What you are not understanding that promoting prostitution isn't allowed. Many people have been thrown in jail for that. I don't want to see anyone get in trouble like that. That includes online channels. They can be held accountable as well.
This is why I’m just going to move to Punta Cana. Puerto Plata doesn’t really like gringos making money. There is a ton of envy, shake downs. Old money that wants to keep things with the old guard and their families. How dare a gringo expect to make money in their town.
@@thewhitedevilfromthebible5899 I’ve been here for a decade, have Dominican family and speak Spanish fluently since I was a child. Every city is corrupt but Puerto Plata has an old guard that hates gringos. They like to control everything. Punta Cana is corrupt too but Puerto Plata has their own brand
I like the idea of a pink zone, it keeps things "PEACEFUL" downtown while still eliminating the problems on Pedro, I don't know about you but I got tired every time I turned the corner on Dr. Rosen they would preposition you at every step all way up to Baliees. one girl followed me all the way to new garden.

Good info as always and lets see if the current government will invest in the area that will be the biggest question instead of lip services. If money has to come out of their pockets then this process will take longer then usual. I am very concerned about the roads, water quality and electricity. Those are more important in order to have better growth for now. Fingers crossed.
@@wysemanacc84 I am happy you made those very valid points. The pink zone will be all private. It is the government zoning that makes it unique. I did a video about the electrical problems.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R90qml7Mxzs.htmlfeature=shared
Yeah this all sounds good but the fact of the matter is, this is a Third World country by definition that breeds inefficiency wasn’t Sosua beach supposed to be closed two or three years ago for development it’s still going nothings changed I’m not saying it won’t, but it won’t be anytime soon you’ll be talking about this 10 years from now and nothing will have changed. American hood culture. You might as well say Black people and be done with it but not all Black people act the same and also if you’re talking about in the Batey. There’s tons of non-black men there are doing the same thing I guess they’re ok Iadmit, all the filming must stop but make no mistake. You ruin it for the brothers the batey gonna go to crap we bring lots of money into that area and all this development they talking about is moving at a snails pace. It took them about THREE YEARS to fix a bridge that heads towards downtown Puerto Plata a bridge that wasn’t even that big !!! like I said, this is a Third World country and things don’t move fast
@@shirleytwsw thank you for you comment. Let's understand, not once did I ever say hood culture or make any reference to any race. I agree with a lot of the points you make about being a developing nation and things go at a different pace. I have also seen things move at a fast pace when the authorities want. If you look outside the downtown area lots , lots of construction, two new cruise ports. Tourism is up year over year. Things are changing and all of Sosua will change. I honestly believe in 18 months the pink zone will be up and the pay for play will be better for the people who want that.
appreciate hearing your view. My plan is to relocate, potentially to DR north coast within 5 years, so I'm just keeping my eye on the property and will be looking to buy probably within 2 and use it as a vacation/winter location until then. Not really concerned about interest rates or loans for myself, just for how it effects the markets as a whole. Likely cash purchase for myself. I'm wondering if you think the same things are happening to the whole north coast? or is Sosua being effected one way or another more than others? I've been keeping an eye on the infrastructure projects in the area, specifically the Bergantin project and would be interested in hearing your thoughts on any effect that it's having on Sosua and other areas. Went to Las Terrenas, but had to rule it out. It's beautiful but I can't be 3 hours from an international airport that has reasonable routes to Boston. Flights to Puerto Plata are currently a lot more expensive than Santo Domingo, but I'm thinking that that'll change with the open skies agreement. The one thing that really frustrates me about the north coast is that lack of places to keep a boat. I think puerto plata has a marina. Other than that it's Luperon, but I'm not sure Luperon has enough of a "modern" town for more than a short stay vaca (no idea. haven't been there). For the most part it seems like Sosua/Caberete have the infrastructure, proximity to an airport, reasonably close to modern amenities that you'd want if you are there for more than a vaca. Seems like Sosua needs a little upscaling (relative to Caberete) before you take your wife and teenage kids? Am I wrong here? So tough to tell from youtube with all the "mango" talk.
I hate to say it, but when I see these videos, it’s almost always, ppl who look like me (black Americans) doing all the dumb foul $hit, making it too hot and overexposed. I wanted to go to Sosua, but now, I’m gonna just go to higher end places in DR.
I hope MORE crackdowns take place! In the early 2000s, there was a guy on the internet named JimmyDR. I'm surprised he didn't get arrested or banned from the DR for the material he had and shared
The problem is and have always been these Passport Bros...they started all of this nonsense with their pay-fo-pay crap...this is happening in Colombia...Brazil...It's so sad...they have really messed it up for men who just wanted to have a nice vacation with all of the red tape

Here's another issue that probably has flown under the radar but Dominican health officials are most likely aware of. There's is an exponentially higher STD rate within a certain population in the US. STDs infections in US urban areas have exploded in number. Not only are people getting infected it also affects pregnant women, "A pregnant woman with untreated gonorrhea may have an increased risk of miscarriage or preterm delivery. A baby who is born while the mother has an active infection can develop blindness, joint infection, or a life threatening blood infection." I'm sure Dominican medical officials are seeing this and are alarmed....
@@CompaiExpatChannel that's not something most people would see or be aware of unless they work in the Dominican health industry. And to have it being brought in by outsiders who are the ones creating these issues you address makes it all the more urgent to stop. Going on vacation and coming home with an STD is bad for the tourist industry.
I was born and raised in the Cibao region. When I was growing up in the DR, Sosua was a family-oriented beach town. They had a few resorts like Jack Tar Village, Sand Castle, Sea Horse Ranch, etc. I am sure that "adult entertainment" existed, but it was not visible at all. Since those days, it had been my desire to one day retire to the North Coast of the DR and invest in some property. Like many people my age, we wish for those good old peaceful days back. Sadly, I think there is no putting that genie back in the bottle, so might as well keep it the way it is so those who like that atmosphere have their own spot to call home and the other island spots (hopefully) keep their identities. These days, I just fly into Santiago from where I do shopping and the eco-tourism stuff with my family, visiting the mountains (Jarabacoa, Constanza, Moncion) and the country. If I want to go to the beach/ocean, I go to Punta Rucia or other out-of-the-way spots where my family doesn't have to see a constant parade of working women or deal with pushy/aggressive hustlers. People may disagree with my opinion of Sosua, but that is fair, we can each have our own opinion. Right now, in its current environment, it is not for me.
Sir, I’ve been coming down here to visit family since I was in my single digits, now I’m 47 years old. Those “Crack Downs” your talking about, has been going on countrywide since before I was born🤣 Just say what you really want to say, You don’t like how Black Americans impacted the North Coast. I’ll see you next month👌🏽
I absolutely agree with you. As a brotha, I know it's difficult for you to say on here without judgment, but the demographic of people that comes to sosua and post videos are the problem. I don't feel sorry for these guys if a crackdown happens. Protect your country at any cost from these guys.
Content creators on RU-vid have really messed up Sosua . Too many of them making videos about Sosua in a negative light. What happens in Sosua should stay in Sosua!😉
I haven't been to DR but the same thing happened to Pattaya. RU-vidrs are all over the place like cockroaches. I'm just glad I got there during better times.
Saw the "shutdown" video which made me subscribe. I am retiring in December and was looking at Sosua or Los Cherimicos. Those are now out of the equation - thanks for the heads up.
I've never heard of your channel until your last vid about the possible shutdown. Thanks for speaking on these selfish RU-vidrs who are ruining things for everyone. It needed to be said.
I started my channel for the same reasons. I looked at too many videos of so call gurus and said they are going to get people in trouble. Better colors on this video. Check your focus. The back ground was more in focus than your face. You using an overhead mic?

@@DuaneWalters-x8u thank you for your comment. I have Dominion neighbors in my gated community. The tourist industry is mostly directed to foreigners. The locals are already getting very angry about the rising rent prices from underfunded expats renting in local communities driving up prices. Please subscribe.
@@CompaiExpatChannelwhen you say "underfunded expats" what do you mean exactly? Just curious about how expats with less funds make things more expensive?
@@kgkg4118 ithe expats renting in Dominican Barrios raises the rent for Dominicans. Lots of resentment coming from this. No different in the states when wealthier people buy into lower income communities and raise the property values. Here it's foreigners driving up prices. Medellín is having the same issues.
@@CompaiExpatChannel gotcha...but what does that have to do with expats being underfunded? I would think expats with less money would look for the lowest prices possible. But yeah, they recently had some backlash in Portugal about this same thing
This man is pointing out that the chaotic atmosphere in Sosua is coming to an end. The Dominican government is preparing to implement new regulations and security measures, including the installation of street cameras. With the development of new plazas, hotels, and the increasing number of cruise ship arrivals, it's likely that Sosua will undergo significant changes. After all, the government gains nothing from the working girls, who don't pay taxes, while hotels and cruise ship guests do contribute. Puerto Plata, for instance, is strengthening its cruise ship industry, expecting 71 vessels in December and 42 in August.
