I read What I Talk About When I Talk About Running by Haruki Murakami and Yellowface by Rebecca F. Kuang. I learned a lot of interesting social media tips from Yellowface, especially the part about using Google Alerts. I want to read Surrounded by Idiots by Thomas Ericcson, which looks very interesting and The Honjin Murders by Seishi Yokomizo.
Your planner looks really gorgeous😄 dark green is my favourite color of all times😍🥰 thank you for taking time to make a video for us. Love the planner layouts...impressive!!
I have requested The Remains of The Day from the library as I feel like I really want to get to it FINALLY. I loved Prophet Song such a great book. I didn’t realise Vikrem Seth wrote poetry. Going to buy that after!! Thank you for the heads up. 📚📘❤️ You read some wonderful books this year.
You will love The Remains Of The Day. Yay to Prophet Song. And also, yes, Vikram Seth actually considers himself to be a poet rather than an author of novels 😅 Haha it’s been a year of me reading whatever I was putting off 🤞 ❤❤📚📚
I’ve been meaning to get to Remains of the day for a while. I think I’ll pick it up soon… You read so much nonfiction! Some really interesting sounding ones!
I love your all your ideas😍 I got myself a petite planner too and yes the quality of the pages is just amazing. I'll take this as a sign to begin book journaling with my planner❤ PS waiting to see how you use the yearly layout :)
I thought How High We Go in the Dark had some interesting and ambitious premise but the book felt lukewarm to me. It didn't seem to offer something fresh, some stories felt bleak in a kumbayah way, and the last story felt like a cop out.. when you have something on a cosmic level like that suddenly all the humanity stories in the beginning felt meaningless..
I had not heard of "Mafia Queens of Mumbai", sounds very interesting and reminds me also that I have to look for "Age of Vice" again that I had to give back to the library before I really could dive into it. Interesting list!
@@JyotsnaS no, i have not ordered it again. It starts really very powerful, but as someone who has never been to India, I wondered how real the world she describes is.
Omg! So glad to see Punjabi widows and Taylor Jenkins on this (who is one of my fave authors currently) list. Loved all your recs! I am particularly intrigued by black butterflies and the Poisonwood Bible. Thank you for this video ❤
I love that list! I am a huge Michael Connelly fan, he is such a talented plotter and I have read almost everything he has written so far, all the Harry Bosch novels, the Mickey Haller ones and the recent Bosch & Renee Ballard ones. Demon is amazing and Wandering Souls is as well. Not forgetting Black Butterflies which people say could remind of the current Ukraine war. My favourite book in 2023 was The Shards by Bret Easton Ellis.
I agree, he is a seasoned, timeless author 😃 I am also happy you love his works too. I have read his Harry Bosch + Mike Haller ones, not the Bosch series. Saw your video, I have added The Shards ❤
Loved the recommendations. My favourite books of 2023 were: The Eighth Life by Nino Haratischvili Greenwood by Michael Christie Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow When We Cease to Understand the World by Benjamin Labatut Kafka on the Shore by Murakami Last Train to Istanbul by Ayse Kulin The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
I liked "Fire Rush" and it got me hooked on the playlist of that book and made me pick up Bob Marley again. I have often visited both Peckam and Walworth Road in London where a lot of Caribbean Londoners live and this took me back in time to the end of the 1970s. Also, I really liked Yamaye and her development.
So good to see your video! We read almost the same amount of books. I need to work more with Storygraph, still using Goodreads do not give me the same kind of statistics. Excel is still a huge mystery to me. Cudos for having read "A History of Seven Killings", my edition of it is so densely printed that I would need magnifying glasses.
Good to see you too ❤ you know, I stopped using storygraph because it was not sustainable at all. The excel I use gives me enough info already and I have a template in the description you can use 😊 hahaha don’t read it, I didn’t like it
I think you discuss books with so much depth and wonder if your journaling may have something to do with that. I certainly have books stick with me more when I write about them and it helps you process the book you just finished too.
It does help me process the book much better and keeps me accountable with my reading. Also it makes me aware of whether the book is working for me or not m, DNFing is easier 😃
Good to see you after long. I’ve read Mafia Queens of Mumbai…actually listened to the audiobook. It’s quite interesting. Have been seeing these Japanese thrillers all over…ordered two in recent Amazon sale.
Wow, love your hauls. I love any video you post🤗Prisoners of Geography is also on my tbr. We can do a buddy read whenever you are ready. House of Blue Mangoes is absolutely amazing.
