Hello! I am trying to activate the Apex Classes and Triggers but it's not validating it seems and I'm not sure what I am missing here. The error we receive " System.DmlException: Insert failed. First exception on row 0; first error: REQUIRED_FIELD_MISSING, Attempted to add a campaign member where either the member id '00QRl00000L4yfz' or the campaign id 'null' is null.: [] Stack Trace: Class.MCSubscriberActivityTriggerHandler_Test.testCreateSubscriberActivity: line 25, column 1" The flow is up to date and activated in both sandbox and production. :(

Hi there! It sounds like the test class is failing because the MC Campaign record is missing a value in the Campaign field. Did you update the permissions for the Campaign field on the MC Campaign object? Does your user have the Marketing User checkbox checked? Can you turn on the debug log and confirm if the MC Campaign record is being created with a value in the Campaign__c field in the logs?

Hello, these tutorials are so amazing and wish more resources like this were available. This is wonderful, thumbs up! Keep doing what you're doing. Question- I see the how-to step guide (Sync MC Campaigns to SF Campaigns:) is slightly different than the video. Which should be correct truth? I'm noticing this at the Stats Modified decision where the video mentions the operator should be record and is changed vs the documentation says it should be prior record value. It seems like the they mean the same thing and it all varies based on personal philosophy?

Thank you so much, we are glad you find them helpful! You are correct, either option should work but they are different - I never noticed that! The Prior Value <> Current Value is probably a better solution in my opinion because if the values are out of sync, they will get updated.

This was an excellent series! Thank you for putting this together. Very easy to follow as someone who hasn't built flows before. I did have a question on the Primary Campaign Source Model. Do I need to build a flow there as well so that it populates on the contact/ opp when the contact is added to a campaign? It currently doesn't populate for me.

@RickSeastrand We are glad you found this helpful! And nothing makes us happier than introducing people to flow, it is such a powerful tool for us admins!! Great job! The Campaign Influence records for the Primary Campaign Source model should be created automatically as long as you have this model Active in Setup -> Model Settings. If it is not the default model, then these records are only visible from a report. Can you confirm the model is active and whether it is the default model or not? If its not the default model, can you see the records in a report - the report type must be "Campaigns with Influenced Opportunities (Customizable Campaign Influence)".

It's not checking the box in that influence report to indicate it's the primary campaign source. So, for all the tests I run, I can't get opps to appear in the campaign statistics under details. The only way I can is if I manually add the campaign the primary campaign source field on the opp

Let me know if I understand your question: If you have the Primary Campaign Source Model set as the default model, then the Campaign Influence records are created automatically by Salesforce in two ways: (1) Via the Primary Campaign Source field on the Opportunity. (2) Via the auto association rules you have setup under Campaign Influence. The concern is more the # of Zaps the entire process takes than having to build a flow to make the Google Calendar Event Id set to null. I took our client's use case and made it more generic for the demo by using a custom object named 'Google Calendar Events'. The use case is being able to create and update data in Salesforce and have this trigger the actions to create, update and delete events from a master Google Calendar the team uses internally. The team was spending a lot of time updating the Google Calendar manually after updating dates in Salesforce and wanted to automate the process. We are trying to find the most cost effective process by building these automations in Zapier and n8n. Let me know if this answers you questions. We appreciate you watching!

This is so amazing, thank you for sharing. Two questions for you -- Since MailChimp only has four statuses -- unsub, cleaned, subscribed, non-subscribed -- why did we do Archived and Pending? The definition wasn't in the linked document above. Additionally, how would you handle sitations where the contact in mailchimp updates their email from a cleaned to a subscribed or even a Salesforce contact with multiple emails where one email is unsubscribed?

You are very welcome! Mailchimp does have statuses for archived and pending. Here is a link to a Mailchimp article that shows these other 2 statuses: mailchimp.com/help/about-your-contacts/ You are correct, the article from chimp essentials does not contain these 2 statuses. Let me know if I am following your other questions. In the scenario where a Contact updates their email from cleaned to subscribed, this would update Salesforce accordingly. There should not be any issues with this scenario, is there a specific concern you are thinking about? In the scenario where a Salesforce Contact can have multiple emails, the processes in our series do not support this scenario. We assume you are using the standard Email field on the Contact and a Contact only has one email address. If you are storing multiple emails on the same Contact record, the free Mailchimp app cannot support this scenario. The paid Mailchimp app does support this scenario though. You can sync any email address field from any object with the paid app. It also has an object called Mailchimp Members that stores the status for each email address, so the Contact would be able to have one email that is unsubscribed and the other is subscribed. Let me know if this answers your questions.

I am seeing some challenges with regard to campaign influence being created even when the opp is closed. Followed the video but it still created the influence.

I tried to recreate the issue in my org and I cannot, I will need more information to try and help you. I tested by removing the 'Opportunity is Closed = False' criteria from the Get Opportunity Contact Roles (Get Records) element in the flow called Campaign Member | Campaign Influence Record Automation. Then I added a contact to a campaign and checked an opportunity where they were in the Opportunity Contact Roles and a Campaign Influence record was created. I replaced the criteria 'Opportunity is Closed = False' and ran a 2nd test and a campaign influence record was not created. If you could record a loom video or send screenshots that would be helpful in troubleshooting.

Curious to know ...how do you find time to update yourself in SF ecosystem ? I get overwhelm with so many updates by SF in a year ...reading thru release notes and testing out them is daunting as we need so much time after our 9 -5 job to understand it ...

Honestly, I don't try to keep up with everything, it's impossible. I don't think I've ever read all of the release notes in their entirety. I focus on the core features our customers use or are asking for. I have been working with SF for 14 years and have a lot of experience to draw from which makes things a lot easier too. I focus on keeping up to date with new flow features no matter what they are. And I work every single day including weekends, I absolutely love what I do so it doesn't feel like work.

Now you are getting fancy! Currently the out of the box features only support quotas by Product Family, not the individual product. I suppose you could get around this by creating a Product Family for each product you have. For quotas by account or partner, this would have to be custom built using custom objects and flows to relate the opportunities and/or opportunity products to the custom object records.

Thank you so much for all these videos. I am having some troubles though. I have to create the Apex classes in sandbox due to license limitations, but I cannot deploy them due to low code coverage. And I can't figure our how to properly test the classes in sandbox since the sandbox is not a full copy (I don't have the date from my production)

@MCF-Admin You are welcome! Low code coverage could be due to variety of reasons and we would need to see the exact error that you are getting when deploying to production. It may be simple fix if its due to a validation rule firing that is not covered in the test class or it may be due to other apex classes within your org. Can you share the error you are getting?

@OS-ST A U-shaped model would be similar to the weighted distribution model we have not recorded just yet. It is on the list to show you how to create a flow that will allow you to specify weighted percentages depending on whether the campaign was first, last or in the middle of the campaign influence records related to a Contact and Opportunity.

Does the old Mailchimp Integration App not connect Person Account? My clients only work off opportunities... but the report concept, could be interesting if it works off any object?

@kf2084 You can sync any email address field from any object in Salesforce to Mailchimp with the new app. If your Opportunity object has an email address field, you should be able to sync it. The ability to sync using a Salesforce report is my favorite feature, it makes segmentation so much easier and simplifies the process of tagging contacts in Mailchimp too.

Great tutorial! Thank you so much for doing this. I have a DLRS rollup that counts child records. The count doesn't go down though when I delete a child record. I tried to run it both in Realtime and Scheduled with no changes to the counter. Any ideas?

@PiaRoeser You are welcome! I tried to recreate the issue in my dev org and I am not able to recreate this issue. I setup a a DLRS rollup that counts the # of Contacts related to an Account, runs in real time and when I add a Contact the count increases and when I delete a Contact, it decreases. Would it be possible to share more details or a loom video so I can recreate the same scenario in my org?

Hello, yes, this is a great app, I have a question about the Legacies Campaigns previously set up, is there a way to update the statuses for those with the new statuses created for a particular Record Type?

@user-ds2bh1fz6c This is a great question. You can update the Statuses for the Campaign Members in legacy campaigns but it is not that easy. Salesforce does not allow you to rename a Campaign Member Status record if it is assigned to a Campaign Member. You would need to create the new Campaign Member Status and then update the Campaign Members to have the new Status. Then delete the old Campaign Member Status record. You can import the new Campaign Member Status records using Data Loader which will be faster than adding it through the UI. Let me know if you have further questions on this.

trying almost same scenario but constantly getting 'null' in recommendationoutput. The decision and filters debug showing all correct values. @umeradil I think the issue is in this part: {!outputRecommendations} Add {!currentItem_filterumer} -> Instead of choosing the 'currentitem' variable, select the variable for the Record Collection from the Collection Filter. See minute 11:58 in the video and see one of the Record Collection Variables are chosen, not the Record (Single) Variable. Let me know if this is what the issue was.

@blzawii You can send emails to 5,000 recipients per day. Here is a link to the article on List Email Limitations: help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.limitations_email_list_email.htm&type=5 If you have setup the appropriate DKIM keys, this will help to prevent Salesforce emails from going to spam folders. how can i handle this with serval audiences in Mailchimp? And a contact could be in serval audiences and just opted out from only one list?

Instead of updating a field on the Contact, you would need to update a record in a custom object. The custom object would be related to the Contact and there would be one record per audience. Then you could have multiple records per contact and could manage the opt outs separately.

The tag clear via import wizard is actually because of a mailchimp API limitation. B12 said they are adding invokable actions for tags soon, as well (at the Fort Wayne Nonprofit User Group meeting that demo'd it this month) You can add contacts one at a time via the lighting web component you can put on contacts, leads or person accounts. The Manage list button there will subscribe/unsubscribe from any audiences.

There is a way to create new leads in this new app! Go to the MailChimp Audiences tab - click on the audience - Field mappings - in the MailChimp to Salesforce settings update #2 to be "When no record match, create a Lead". Then make sure to update the mappings for the Lead object.

Hello! Thanks for the video! I have a doubt that you may have faced when using NBA, We've seen that our NBA request are being counted when no recommendations are returned ( and counted as "no recommendation returned" in the recommendation metrics report) and we are hiding the component when this happens as well. Is that normal? Is there any way to stop this behaviour? Cause it doesn't feels right to consume request when nothing is showing. Anyway! Thanks for all your content. It's been very helpful.

Thank you for the kind words so glad you are finding our channel helpful! We have seen this as well. I believe the intent is to provide reporting on how often no recommendations are found in case this indicates the need for you to modify the criteria for showing the recommendations. Some people may find this helpful if they want a recommendation to show all of the time. Also I don't think it counts as a request in your consumption metrics on the company information page. Are you finding that it does?

This is a custom field we created on the opportunity, you will need to create it manually. It is a lookup to the Contact object.

I stumbled across this as a client has the free version and we needed to reinstate the sync due to a change in credentials but it seems that we can't do that without uninstalling and reinstalling it, which I don't want to risk yet until I know we can install it! ROAR!!

You are correct, changing the user credentials requires a reinstall. I still haven't heard back from MailChimp on the request for the link. I would open a support ticket with them to see if you can get it.

Hi Cheryl, thank it for creating these great videos, I have a question - when I enabled additional campaign influence models setting, it automatically created the first touch, last touch and even distribution model. What other custom models can we create apart from all these and how to create those? Thank you!

Do you have Account Engagement (fka Pardot) in your org? If yes, this explains how/why those models were automatically created. We are working on two other videos that will show you how to do a weighted distribution based on type and position.

Our first touch custom model videos are for orgs without Account Engagement. We will not be doing any videos on how to use custom models with Account Engagement. We do not have expert level knowledge in Account Engagement. It will be at least 2 months before we have the weighted distribution model videos ready.

Absurd. So many customers left hanging. My team found out when we tried to install for a new client and realized we lost support for around 15 implementations we built out and charged clients for. EoL is probably coming... I can't imagine the feeling after creating all of these great videos, yet you guys still voice your opinion professionally. Thanks again for these videos... They helped me learn a lot when I really needed it.

Yeah, it's tough when products make changes like this. I understand it's inevitable but I don't understand why it has to be done with complete disregard for your customers. We are glad you found the videos helpful! Looking forward to making many more!

Can we track the list emails like the HTML Email status report? In list emails i wanted to show data isOpened? Opened date?

For List Emails, you can only track the opens if you have Sales Engagement or Account Engagement. Here is the link to the API documentation for the ListEmail object: developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.object_reference.meta/object_reference/sforce_api_objects_listemail.htm - go to the TotalOpens field and it says: "Users need the Sales Engagement User permission set or your org must use Account Engagement and users need the CRM User or Sales User permission set." Sales Engagement fka High Velocity Sales is a paid product for Enterprise editions, it has been added to Performance and Unlimited editions as a feature. Account Engagement fka as Pardot is a paid product for all Salesforce editions.
