I think another reason why people don't like Boxtrolls as much as simply how they're viewing the movie. I think this movie might have the most Easter eggs in a Laika film. The amount of detail that is hard to see on a 30 to 40 inch display versus a 130 inch projection movie screen.
I saw a few weeks ago when it's released my movie froze halfway in maybe it's something wrong with the projector the same day it froze on is where Miss spank and Miss forcible are reading coralines tea leaves and I miss halfway through the movie due to me trying to get a small popcorn but still I enjoyed it and I can't wait to see it again this Friday.
I agree Boxtrolls shouldn’t be rated so lowly, the movie has a great message about the hardships of fitting in and how social classism works. I love Archibald’s arc however I thought his death was too extreme as I found it disturbing as maybe a different outcome could’ve happened to him for a kids movie however it was still a reasonable outcome for him ignoring his allergy in order to fit in and it exemplifies how far people go to hurt themselves to get what they want
True, I can agree with that, especially for a kids movie. His death is definitely the most gruesome out of all the Laika films. Thanks for your insight!
I collect them! So it’s similar to someone who buys an action figure but keeps it in its box. It’s meant to be played with, but worth much more and is more displayable if it’s unopened. I only really do this with vintage puzzles.
On the last book you showed… That last page was missed during the cutting. The pages were folded and then the folds were cut with a blade. Not uncommon to find pages that were overlooked. Thrift stores are fantastic places to find old books!
I enjoy the Dowdle puzzles as well. I did build the Niagara Falls and the San Francisco Pier and really enjoyed them! I don't know if you like Disney but Dowdle has a whole series called Disney/Dowdle and they look amazing, I can't wait to get those and try them 🙂Thank you for sharing! 🧩🧩🧩
Awesome vintage puzzle collection. I picked up a few vintage puzzles at my local Goodwill. One was with a photograph of Barbie dolls from 1989 still sealed for $3.
