man this just came up again on my homepage, forgot how much i loved it. such a cool arrangement and tribute to chris, this deserves a thousand times the views it has right now
Hey Wouter! I do think the score is correct. The main phrasing - when counted in 8th notes - is 3 -3 -2. i.e dotted quarter, dotted quarter, quarter note. Within that phrase, I'm not really thinking of septuplets. I just start with the first snare and make sure to land the kick on the right moment. So it's more like a six roll stroke sticking with an additional flam? Or a 16th note triplet + 4x32nd notes? Something like that... ;-) Thanks & enjoy! M

I've watched a few - you totally nailed it! I like the comparatively lighter feel to other heavier versions here on RU-vid, and GREAT to see the kick beater coming off the head.
You should count this last conga pattern for us? It’s completely different rhythm then the paradiddle groove and has different timing and you don’t count it for us.
