Brilliant turnout, I bet you were all so proud, marching behind the band, hairs on the back of your neck standing up. I did the same parade in April 1968, served for nine years, best days of my life! Thank you for your service…….. Per Ardua Ad Astra!
Remember it well PASSED OUT MY SELF FROM R.A.F. SWINDERBY BACK IN 1978. AND NEVER LOOKED BACK NOW RETIRED AT 60 AFTER 30 YEARS SERVICES WITH A GREAT PENSION. AND HAVE SO MANY GREAT MEMORIES. THANKS TO ALL MY FELLOW TRAINEES. AND FELLOW NCO'S AND OFFICERS THAT GOT US ALL THERE IN THE LATE 70'S.
Good start, RAF Swinderby was the RAF School of Recruit Training long before 1982, it was definitely where I went in 1979 for my basic training, although I believe at that time it was the No1 School of Recruit Training, nonetheless it was basic training, and to state otherwise doesn’t seem appropriate to all those who did their “square bashing” there.
