Those kind of prayers (asking the Theotokos to save us and St. John the Baptist to wash our sins away) are found more so in Eastern Christianity. Protestantism is a group of heresies that originated in Europe, which was ran by the Latin West. So lol
I have a serious question. This song says “I pray to” shouldn’t we only be praying to god or is it just saying it as a song? Can someone explain for me?
Praying doesn’t exactly mean to worship, especially in the Orthodox and Catholic denominations praying to saints so they can pray for us is a common practice, it’s kinda like if you ask your friend to pray for you except you can’t just teleport to heaven and ask Saint Paul to pray for you so you pray to him so he can intercede for us
