What a cool catch this was. My assumption is these were possibly resets of earlier versions with chassis enhancement includes the addition of the DXM independent suspension, a MaxxForce 9.3 engine, 570 amp alternator and driveline, while leaving a residual chassis with a beam axle that can be reused. The DOD ordered 2,000+ resets to be completed in 2012, those were to be done overseas. There was a later order for resetting vehicles in the USA and in other overseas locations not in Afghanistan. The neat thing to me is the 10 chassis without cabs or bodies @ the 5:15 mark. These are possibly for a US Army project that involved turning MaxxPro into a troop transport truck or another possibility is for use by UK as an upgrade to its Husky MRAP.
Every surface-level crossing with a significant roadway on a Class One double-tracked rail line needs to have crossing gates. Especially if it already has bells and lights. This is an accident waiting to happen. Get real, BNSF, CPKC, or whomever runs this sub.
