Thank you so much for this first of all :D I have a PC with a 9700k (Overclock to 5.2GHz on all cores) and 64GB of RAM and I would like to use a Mac again for Logic and since the Mac Mini with an M4 Pro should be sufficient when it will release in the future I’d wanted to know if there are any problems you have with Latency or anything with a Gigabit connection. I was asking because I could buy a 10 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter for my PC and Upgrade the Mac Mini in the config to 10 Gigabit aswell would that make a big difference ? I only East West Opus and my template isn’t nearly as big as your I’d say I reach about 50-75 Active Tracks when composing at the end.
hello Johnmunstudios, I am new in Kontakt. So thanks a lot for your video and tips. It's helpful. I followed your video to add the 3rd party kontakt libraries. Those instrument's folders are successfully shown up in the instrument column in Quick Load section, however it doesn't sound anything at all when clicking the UI's keyboard (midi region). Meanwhile, after dragging or loading the instrument, the UI looks completely messy-around with "DEMO" mode. When checking other libraries that I downloaded from Native Access, they can be played with sounds May I have your help on this ? I am currently using MacOS 14.6.1 & Logic Pro 11.0.1 & Kontakt 7.10.5 (I literary run Kontakt as standalone to test these downloaded libraries and not under DAW) Thank you very much.
Steinberg needs to get rid of this feature in total because I've use the same plugins in other dawg and they work very well no extensive CPU usage because this is very annoying in cubase even people with high end computers have this problem and mine is very low end
Hi, Thanks for this. Really clear and useful. Just wondering if you can help me with a quick query. I am preparing music to give to my musicians. I have created a cello and backing vocal part, but find it looks a bit odd as the two staves are not joined together at the beginning of each line as is usual in a score. This makes it look a little unclear that it is two instrument parts in the same bar, not just the following line of music. Is there a way I can sort this out? Thanks for reading!
From my perspective its also great for desktop "analog" gear, as the knobs n pads can be assigned to MIDI channel, CC values and other from the device it self. Sadly the big con is really gitchy, not musical in any way arpeggiator that do not work from midi out (whaaat?). Its really bad... but I think that Synido could make it right by firmware update. There is also no tempo signal from midi out. Look for yr self: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F2KvK69hRQM.html Keys are springly and wobbly but overall quality can be verified only by time (Novation Launchkey also seems little flimsy but works great for over 3 years). With better arp I probably could recommend this kb to someone. More probably I will sell it cheap on used market and won't risk another Synido gear in the future.
Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed. I purchased the Nektar Impact LX61+ and wanted to set the pads to drums sounds. This video was quick, to the point, and easy to follow.
Thanks so much! Thanks to your video I was finally able to set up my Maschine Studio for proper use with Cubase. Funny enough I found that assigning Start to a button with the intention to pause on second press, you need to set Toggle to "off", not "on". Kinda counterintuitive but it works. The only thing I haven't found out yet is how I can use the jog wheel to move the cursor/marker forward/backward. Apparently that is not possible?
Hi john , why in the connection box when i click connect to my slave pc ip session is showing (native ) [what that means] connection , i have giga bite switch all setup as shown in vienna page network , but when i press on my midi i am.having audio spikes
Hi John, thank for making this video. What if I only want to import bar 10-20 of a certain virtual instrument track, how do you do that? I am kinda new to Cubase, I just found your channel, lots of good lessons here, you really know how to explain it well. Thanks.
Thank you soooo much i just bought yesterday this midi keyboard Question can you turn of the sensitifity and play whit out sensi?Greetzzz from holland victory of the light❤❤❤❤❤
Click in the name of the rack instrument (in the right panel) and then in the drop down select No VST instrument. It isn't particularly intuitive although it does make it difficult to accidently delete a rack.
Thanks, this is by far the best tutorial on this topic that i have encountered. Not unneccesary long and very well explained! I notice that i always turn to your channel because it's always to the point, tempo is perfect, content is tailor made. You are one of the best Cubase tutors on YT.
Hey, I’m in the verge of buying VEP7 + The whole MIR 3D package.. I just wanted to ask you a few questions: How often do you use MIR 3D, Is it a time saver for your workflow? And what is your general opinion on it? Same about VEP7, do you find it faster than a *Deactivated Cubase template? Thanks, in advance 🙏🏻 and thank you for the tutorial! When I’ll buy it I’ll watch it again:)
I have a lot of faders and Knobs in my midi controller, but I can only add up to 8 qc options, and I would like to also control volume and other options in the plug ins
I know I’m going to subscribe to your channel. I’m learning Logic Pro and why to compose, even at my young age of 77. Can’t afford the $1400 one, so I’ll just use the 2i2 for now. I see you use cubase also. I have an iMac and Logic was what I could afford. Joe to hear from you. Going to keep watching your Logic lessons.
This is NOT the way to go. With this method you are creating a new instance of whatever instrument plugin for every single pitch after the dissolve. Got a Groove Agent loaded up with, oh, I dunno, 16 pads fully loaded and programmed into an event? Dissolve Part will create 16 additional instances of Groove Agent. Do it from within a rack instrument, then after dissolving, assign the tracks to a seperate output (after activing the required amount of outputs ofcourse).
I got this one shortly before a massive stroke, I re-recorded 200+ tracks on it and still haven't utilized a single knob .. I was quite an expert in synths before so I get back to this video once a while :)
One question I have not been able to find the answer: do you need to have your VSTs/Plugins installed on the second [networked] computer ? Do you need to have two licenses, i.e. one for the main computer and one for the second [networked] computer or just one license for the second computer ? Thanks !!
If your using a second computer they will be on that computer. All of it connected to a network via Ethernet so both computers can communicate. You only need one license for everything.
