@@Mach5Johnny the tolarances are much much more smaller and this is basicly a dirty fuel. It can plug up all the small holes of the newer injectors and pumps etc. older diesel injectors and pumps has much larger tolerances.
@@TENMILSOCKETGARAGE I see… but what about newer military vehicles? They got newer common rail engines and they’re capable of running on more than just diesel.
As a waste oil enthusiast I agree with most every step you have taken. However if you are going to mix it with diesel fuel you can skip the addition of gas and just use pump diesel. I tend to run a 70/30 mix of oil to diesel. I live where it gets very cold in the winter and I adjust the mix accordingly but gas is not a needed step in the mixing unless you want to run pure waste engine oil. when it gets cold here (-40c) i run a 50/50 or 60/40 mix as it will be to thick to run properly.
Ahh gotcha gas is used only when you wanna run pure wmo? Ok ok now i know. I tought it was too thick to add to diesel at first. Thanks for the info. My favorite batch was used hydraulic oil filtered and ran it 70/30 no gas added.
I haven't been able to get my hands on any hydro oil yet. I assume it ran just like trans oil? Also BTW if you have lots of trans oil you can just run it straight with zero gas or diesel. It won't smoke like engine oil.
It definitely works. I used to work in a fleet truck shop, all the used oil was mixed in a machine and pumped right back in the tanks. The only occasional issue if not mixed right was clogged fuel filters.
My friends have watched me cut up more stuff than ever since I bought my 7.3L... its kinda like Ford wasted money on useless crap that would eventually fail and at the same time charged for doing a crappy job and were proud of that crappy work... Keep trimming the fat buddy!!!
I know this is an old video, but this is good stuff! The fuel pressure regulator is the most intimidating part of the e-fuel upgrade for me, and the most expensive. You made this look pretty easy, but only because you are a surgeon with that grinder. I don't know how I feel about no mounting bracket, but you say it works in your truck and I believe you. It actually looks quite good, and way less messy than that stock fuel bowl. Thanks again!
@@TENMILSOCKETGARAGE yeah I think that is good advice. I would probably go with something like the OEM pump, Bosch, Walboro or something proven. Did you add an inertial shutoff or oil pressure switch?
You're smoking pretty good at WOT. I would recommend (if your tuner allows) to increase your AFR. You're putting just a bit too much fuel into the engine, causing it to smoke, and it can gum up your intake and turbo with all the soot.
