Hello! I'm Lavinia and with my cat Peter, I make tutorial videos to teach some of my favourite board games quickly and easily.
Most of my videos include some tips. These are tips generally to help you get started or things I felt I would have liked to know when I started playing the game.
If there's a game you want me to teach, let me know in the comments and I'll definitely check it out.
If you enjoy my content there a number of ways to support the channel:

I love that you actually do the actions as you're explaining them. It makes it a lot easier for me to understand. But I'm still confused about how train stations work, so I must be an idiot 😭 I don't know what they actually do. Do they 'steal' a route that another player has claimed?
Thank you so much! The train stations can be a bit confusing. The train stations essentially gives you access to a city that is already be closed off by other players. It lets you finish the destination ticket by using another players route. You don’t get points when you place it but allows you to get the destination ticket points. Players who don’t use the stations get points for each of them at the end of the game. It’s something you use when you absolutely need to complete ticket/s. I hope this clarifies :)
Question about Haunt 32 on special edition 3. When referring to the traitors new traits given via the traitors tome, how do you calculate these new numerical values with the character board if the character is considered “dead”? When attacking the bakenecko and they lose the fight do they lower their numerical value of the bakenecko’s traits or from something else such as a character board?
Thank you VERY much for your easy explanation of Ticket To Ride Europe. We were having difficulties trying to understand how the playing of cards for tunnels worked. 🙂
Thank you, I’m glad you liked the video. I was taught English and Spanish since I was quite young and I’ve lived in places where people have different accents, that may contribute to the mix :)
Could you do a video combining catan, sea farers, cities and knights and also traders and barbarians? (I really enjoy your videos, also was wondering your thoughts on catan treasures, dragons and adventurers?)
Hello! I’ve been meaning to do an epic Catan but it’s not easy to find the rules combining all. I recently bought a copy of Catan Treasures, Dragons and Adventures, I will be playing it soon and I’ll let you know.
Thank you so much for this wonderful explanation. Everything was on point and super easy to understand. P. S. Cat is an amazing actor - complete resemblance of a statue! Has he ever considered Hollywood? 🗿❤️
I’m so glad it was useful, it’s a great game. I agree Peter is a remarkable actor. As soon as I start setting up, he knows and he’s there in the box ready 😊 Enjoy Splendor Duel!
I've got a random question, non game related (lol). Are you an english speaking person that learned spanish? Or a spanish speaking person that learned english? Or..... was brought up with one english speaking parent and one spanish speaking parent? I only ask because I love your engish accent, and you speak spanish very well, so im just ciurious. I've seen most of your videos and I loved them, I am a very big fan of Catan, and hence, all of your Catan videos! Thank you!
Hi! Thank you so much, I’m so glad you like the Catan videos, I love Catan too. You are correct, I have one English speaking parent and one Spanish speaking parent, I learnt both from a young age.
@@GamesMadeEasy Unfortunately the water tiles were missing, but the person I bought it off had mistakenly put them in another box, so I still need to pick them up! Hopefully I'll get to try it this weekend :)
Hi Lavinia, always very clear explanations. I'd like to see a video about that attractive Star Wars Rebellion box I always see in the background. Many thanks!
Oh that’s a hard choice - I think both are very good games. T&B offers a lot of different variants, so you get a lot for what you pay and some of the variants are very good. C&K is a solid game - I love the aspect of building a metropolis and having that pressure from the Barbarian attack.
I know, it was a hard video to explain and I wish now I had done it when I had more experience explaining games. It’s not an easy game to explain. I do hope it doesn’t put you off, it’s a lovely game :)
Hello and thank you very much, you've helped our house a lot with your videos and we have an argument we're trying to figure out. In the nasty variant of C&K, if a player chooses not to contribute with one of his active knights to the defence of the island, does said knight still lose his active status? Half of us argue the knight's status should remain intact since he didnt contribute in the defence, half of us argue all the active knights lose their active status, regardless of contribution or not. Is the nasty variant strictly political?
