@@L0VEJ0NES that's really interesting! I found that when I moved to Memphis after growing up in Houston, I didn't think Memphis was really diverse. But Houston is a melting pot of so many cultures - so I really think it depends on where you come from that will help shape your view of the city. Thanks for watching!! 🙂
Nope! We Drive through Downtown Memphis on the way to Louisville Kentucky metro area. We tried to stop for Lunch ! It honestly was a nightmare downtown Memphis. The streets were empty and no traffic. We saw homeless people everywhere. We were not allowed to use the public bathrooms at restaurants. I am a middle class middle age white woman. I was Driving a 2022 new mini van . Memphis seemed like the hood. I was extremely upset . I ended up driving 2 more hours before stopping at a gas station to use the bathroom. That evening we stayed at a hotel in Nashville next to the arena. I can't recommend living in Tennessee . I would move back to Texas before living in Tennessee.
It can still be hot in Memphis when October comes around where afternoon highs hit mainly upper 80s but also lower 90s & 60s at night . November is when temperatures actually begin to cool
@@LifeWithShawn2024 I would say that's true in September still but definitely not in October. Do you live in Memphis because that's definitely an interesting take.
I’d like to buy a few houses in Memphis or a multi family. I’d like to provide them to supportive housing. How are the rental laws and I wonder how much these agencies pay for room rentals and house rentals
Yes ma'am - We know he's not going to live here. Just the site of the Supercomputer. Even since this video, there have been more community meetings regarding this move and concern within the city.
He will probably have a home here. He is a billionaire. Quite sure he has multiple homes. Either way doesn’t matter if he does or not. The website already has job openings paying more than $100 an hour in the city of Memphis.
I thought the project in Atlanta was a totally different supercomputer that was gonna be used for X, formerly Twitter but fail through bcuz of tax breaks. Memphis actually competed for this supercomputer and won over several other cities.
@@mari_j_mc oh wow I didn't realize the pay but I've already had a family call me from the channel that I will be helping move here because of working at the site. Thanks for sharing that info - I figured it would definitely bring opportunity in terms of work and surrounding housing but I also know there has been push back with unanswered concerns. It's definitely a wait and see to see how this affects us, if it does it all. Thanks for watching! ☺️
I'm a high end residential and commercial electrician that has worked in Memphis for 30 years. I have gate codes to neighborhoods most people don't even know exist and have done multiple jobs in Harbor Town including a complete renovation there I was in yesterday. I don't know these ladies at all and have ZERO connections to them at all but every word they said is true! It's safe and private but has a community feel and you'll get back whatever you put in a house! 😁😁
Looove it!! I've been working with Natasha to get a home in Tipton County and you can not go wrong with her! She truely does live eat sleep real estate!
@@mari_j_mc some things look different in the spirit world, I was born and raised in Memphis. The only way I would move back is if God himself told me!
@@shantawilliams9859 well I moved back after being away for 20yrs. I could literally live anywhere in the world and I chose to live in Memphis.. Just like Musk could’ve chose anywhere in the world and he chose Memphis. It’s good ppl like u that have a bad impression of the city have moved away but for some reason y’all won’t stop commenting ur negativity on the city at every chance. If it’s the spirit world, then just pray for the city and move on cuz there’s evil everywhere. Quite sure there’s evil where u r now.
I live in Memphis and moved into a 55and over community . I feel we a lacking in reasonably priced housing for middle income people. Plenty of housing for the poor and the rich but nothing for the in between. I live at Town Village at Audubon Park in East Memphis.and it is the best for you money but it is rental not to be purchased. Town Village tops any other rental
The population growth that Southaven is currently experiencing is from a particular demographic strata that you might not desire. Crime is increasing, and property values are about to drop.
You are definitely not from Memphis but I have to admire your attempt to get people to move to the area.... I will say that not every area of Memphis is bad....and Harbor Town is absolutely a beautiful area and a safer part of the city... I was born and raised out there and I actually build some of those homes right that in that very area you're doing your video in... and finally I will say that if you can actually afford a home in that area you will most likely not see a lot of crime or be exposed to some of the more dangerous areas of Memphis Tennessee🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
None of my videos state I'm from Memphis. I'm a die hard Texan but I've been in Memphis and a Realtor here for almost 10 years. The channel is moreso to educate who are thinking about/have to move. There wasn't a resource out there like this when I moved years ago and so I strive to be the person I wish I had when I moved. Harbor Town is beautiful and yep you echoed exactly what I said in the video regarding safety in the area! Thanks for watching! 🙂
My wife and love Harbor Town, especially watching the sunsets at Tuggs. The Wolf River trail is great for shorter walks. It gets interesting when the river is at flood stage. The downside which must be pointed out is Mud Island (Harbor Town is north side of Mud Island) is a sandbar. This is significant because of the high risk of termites. The traditional methods of termite protection doesn’t work. There has been several home which has gone through extensive repairs because. The other downside is the traffic during great weather. It is a big public park across the street on the Mississippi River side. Regardless it is still a unique and great place to live.
Wow I learned something new today and I just saw my termite guy at a home inspection! Very interesting stuff and I will be sure to keep that in mind when selling in Harbor Town. Thanks for watching! 🙂
Watch: PROOF Germantown TN does not enforce codes. If you buy a house here it is not protected by codes!!! And Code Enforcement will lie in paperwork so check and balances does not exist in our government!! The current Major has destroyed our community!!!
Hii just arrived to Memphis, im shock about the amount of houses we checked and still we can't find one that is not dirty and smelling like weed and cigarettes..any advice where to go?
Hello Natasha, your videos have been really helpful for those who are unfamiliar with the area. Especially, the info on housing and pricing are very detailed. Helps us gauge the cost and other factors associated with moving. Will definitely contact you when the time comes.
It definitely depends where you live in the City, but I tell people on the safe side, invest in a generator! Unfortunately the infrastructure is worse in some areas than others.
DON'T MOVE TO MEMEHIS OR SHELBY COUNTY TN. IT IS DANGERIOUS AND RUN BY FOLKS THAT DON'T CARE. WE ALSO HAVE A SOROUS D.A. AND THAT SAYS IT ALL. IF YOU MUST MOVE HERE GET A BULLET PROOF VEST IF YOU PLAN TO VISIT THE CITY. THUGS RULE IN MEMPHIS...
I do understand your sentiment regarding the leadership here and as a City, I know we all hope to see some real changes, but I never felt I had to wear a bullet proof vest. Carry, yes, and my head on a swivel, but that's anywhere because the world is crazy! Thank you for commenting! 🙂
Humidity over dry heat any day. Did basic training in Oklahoma in 2011 and that was definitely an eye opener for a youngster leaving Alabama for the first time. It brung one of my battles to her knees at 6am in the morning.
Common sense says homes that are priced well below the “average” prices for homes are priced lower for a reason. In Memphis crime and neighborhood instability is often the reason for lower priced homes. Memphis suburbs, such as Bartlett, Germantown, Arlington, and Collierville are safe, with good schools, excellent police and fire departments, medical facilities, and shopping centers. Most homes in these suburban cities are going to be priced in the $400,000-$750,000 range but there are older smaller homes in the low $200,000 to $350,000 range. If you’re moving to Memphis from another State or area, and you’re not familiar with Memphis, you absolutely must investigate the area you’re potentially looking to buy a home in. Memphis suburbs are safe and great places to live, but many areas in Memphis are not safe and are in fact dangerous. As a long time Memphis resident I would definitely not buy a home in Cordova. A lot of homes are for sale in Cordova for a reason.
@@fiver67jb It is one of the more dangerous suburban areas. It used to be one of the more preferred suburban areas because homes were less expensive. Burglaries, car theft, and gun violence have become more common and it seems to be getting worse. Cordova is part of Memphis so Memphis Police and Fire Depts provide protection. IMO, the only issue with Memphis Police is, IMO, that they are overwhelmed and stretched thin. Shelby County Sheriffs Dept also has jurisdiction responsibility’s there too. Germantown, Collierville, Bartlett, Arlington, & Eads are better options, IMO, but are also more expensive.
The Memphis suburbs are very, very, different than living in the city limits of Memphis. Collierville, Germantown, Bartlett, Arlington are upscale incorporated cities with their own highly trained, efficient, police and fire departments. Crime is low in those areas with excellent schools. Homes in the suburbs are generally from $400,000 up to million dollar mansions. No state income tax, property taxes in the suburbs are low compared to other similar size communities. No reason to even go into Memphis City limits unless your work requires it. Memphis has an NBA team. The University of Memphis sports teams are often nationally ranked. Winter consists of one or two snowfalls nothing like living in a Northern state. I know because I was born and raised in NW Indiana. Memphis weather nothing like that. The city of Memphis and Shelby county have crime problems but the suburban cities don’t. I lived in Germantown for 23 years moved to Collierville 22 years ago. I’ve never been a victim of crime and feel absolutely safe living in the suburbs.
