"See something out of the ordinary...?!" There are so many things that have nothing to do with crime and criminal activity that are "out of the ordinary." One of those "things out of the ordinary" is when a delivery driver comes to drop off something at a house, or it's a courier or visiting nurse. Sometimes delivery drivers have wrong addresses. Encouraging this type of paranoia just puts delivery drivers and couriers at risk of being misidentified as "criminals" when they are just doing their jobs. As a second shift, medical courier, I have been misidentified as a "suspicious person" many times even when wearing a uniform, driving a company van, with picture ids. Years ago, this type of paranoia would have you on a psychiatrist's couch.
I agree! I work as a caregiver through an agency and get sent to new homes all the time and get misidentified as “suspicious” simply by trying to navigate my way through the complex or neighborhood. This cop has a good point about being alert and aware of your surroundings but I think he’s over-pushing paranoia a bit too much. Anybody can “look suspicious” depending how you look at them. Also, criminals can make themselves blend and seem completely normal, so sometimes you might end up on the lookout for the wrong people.
Thanks for this. i live in Canada, had a (someone )break into my truck ( which I beleived locked). Next few days, installed 8 CCTV camera system ( SWANN) and changed door locks ( coded bluetooth and combination)and garage remote system. A few months later, here comes this guy grabbing door handle sets to check unlocked vehicles. Grabbed my boots and pepper spray and ran him down accross the road at my 80 yr old neighbours back yard where I beleive he was trying a B&E. The little prick got away, but Scared the shit outa him. Wish I was 20 years younger. Anyway, thing is, the neighbours are aware now, and paying much closer attention to their doors , cars and each other. Its a shame this has to be like this, but thats what it is. I only wish we had the same gun laws in Canada that you have down south. Be Diligent and stay safe!

This is exactly why Suspicion has turned into my number one mood. I am suspicious about everything based on what’s been happening in my life and based on what I’ve been seeing in life. It’s going to take a lot to get suspicion out of my number one mood. People got me having the ninja mindset and acting like one.
