As an avid fan of live music I like to visit music clubs and pubs in my local area. My tastes are generally blues and roots music as you will gather if you watch any of my video clips.
With the purchase of a new camera in March 2013 I discovered that I could share some of the music that these wonderful musicians play. For many of them, the financial rewards are small and so they play mainly just for the pleasure of creating music.
I always check with the band or artist before recording and usually let them view the videos before they are made public. If my videos can help the artist or band to 'spread the word' then my job is done.
As of June 2014 I have an HD Camcorder and external microphone so the audio-visual quality is further improved compared to my earlier video clips.
I hope you enjoy the music but please support the artists by going to their gigs ........... or as my guitarist friend Robin Bibi would say "Keep it Live"!
I have seen Rag Mama Rag a couple of times but, unfortunately, was unable to catch them locally on their recent UK visit. Many thanks for uploading these videos, subscribed👍
Yes they are wonderful - one of my favourites. There are a lot more videos to come from this gig (and another 30 odd on my channel from two previous gigs). Unfortunately, Ashley had a very sore throat that n ight but his guitar playing was amazing.
Jess really belts it out. Wonderful. She's a tall drink of water, isn't she? What a great band. The horns, the lead guitar, the whole band in top form.
A couple of months ago, I had the good fortune to see Paul Jones and Dave Kelly, and it there I discovered this song. Just love Dave’s bottleneck playing. There are other good versions, Eric Clapton, Brownie McGhee and Sonny Terry are worth a listen also.
Forminable groupe .
@@geoffwebber381 Thank you, I'm glad to hear that he still plays, but a little sad that it's only occasional. It's some while since his Sonny Black website disappeared. It's only a couple of weeks ago that I bought one of his Dukes albums from Ebay
Well you certainly did me a favour! Matthew came over with another guy the following year (can't remember his name). Not as good as Dan but Matthew was in fine form. If you haven't seen his version of Death Letter Blues give this a try. Best version I have ever heard. studio.ru-vid.comQ1GgfBL6GtU/edit?o=U
