I own the MT 48 I've had it for less then 3 weeks now the screen flickers none stop sold my Apollo solo and purchased the MT48 new I'm returning it and going with the Apollo twin x the MT48 sounds great but the screen malfunctioning after just a few weeks just do work for me after the price tag of almost $2,000
Used both side by side. MT 48 is a clear sonic winner, andd the headphone amp is a MASSIVE improvement over the Twin, Well worth the money. The harshness of the UA top end is hard to notice at first, but over time it's a massive literal pain to deal with.
I had the ME6 and it was garbage although it could be I didn't know what I was doing. I still have it somewhere in my closet so maybe I should pull it out for some 80's vibes.
Awesome shootout! I thought I’d enjoy the 18v version but I actually preferred the 9V v6 surprisingly. I just bought what I believe to be v6 because it has the smaller rectangular board, hockey puck knobs, and pots dating to 1980. However, it has 2 battery clips for 18v operation so I assume it might be a transitional model? Like maybe one of the first v6 to be produced? Have you heard of this? Any info appreciated and awesome shootout!!
Thanks! I've tried a few other 18V mistresses besides the one in this video, and they were all pretty much the same as the one I showed. Honestly, I still prefer my good old 9V Mistress over any of them :)
I have the UAD. The UAD is super colored sounding compared to the RME. Sometimes that's great and I do like tthe sound of the instrument individually. The issue sometimes comes into mixing when all of that warmth just starts to feel cloudy and muddy across the entire mix, so even though it can make the RME sound what some would say is sterile, it probably translates to cleaner source tracks and overall a stronger clarity once it comes to mix time. I'm thinking about switching to RME for good because the UAD drivers SUCK and the computer has to wait to detect the interface every single time. It doesn't help that I also see that the latency on the RME is way shorter. It may be time.
That has been my question too, why does violins have soundpost but guitars don’t? However, this video shows that there isn’t any noticeable difference.
@@nd_efx It really should sound good. It looks like the "same" circuit as the original. They even used a discreet transformer. I wonder what went wrong..
Incredible times we’re living in where we have such great choices at reasonable prices for what these devices are capable of! Imagine if Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and other rock bands had access to such interfaces in their day.
