used the auto harness for reverse lights and just picked random wires for speed sensor. the 98 auto does not use speed sensor. then connected the speed sensor wires to speedo output from ecu to dash so i didnt have the run extra wires
BROTHER, Tell us all about it! What manual transmission did you use? How difficult was the switchover? Did you use the same Master model’s master cylinder? How many error codes did you have to solve? Did you get any good help from anyone? I badly want to do this exact thing for my odyssey! YOURS is the First Bit if information I’ve seen from someone who actually did this! You should become an Automotive Icon for Making Minivans Great Again! Please, Please, make another video or publish some information on what you did! My Transmission just crapped out and it’s now time to make the change.
I am going to be doing this swap shortly but with a twist, doing a g23 for the engine, converting to obd1, and turbo. I built a k piston engine and dropped it in but because the head wasn't reman'd properly I had to pull the damn thing. I'll have to pick your brain if I run into an issue. I have 98 as well.
Nice! What ECU did you use? Do you have to use an Accord engine in order to use the Accord ECU, or can the Odyssey ECU be reprogrammed for a manual transmission?
Hey do you mind sending me the parts list needed for the conversion. I plan to have my mechanic do the swap once my auto transmission breaks. I'm on the RA1 Odyssey owner's FB group page and see tons of 95-97 manual swap info but not much for the 98's.
vss on 98 odd went straight to speedo so i inputed for computer then spiced in to output side for speedo. the 98 auto doesnt use speedo output like 5 speed
GREAT memories! I was selected to be one of the starters on the starters stand in 1984. Incredible experience. Neumans first win at the runoffs ever. His comments after winning DP was "This is the highest natural high that I've ever experienced"! Typical P.L.. Met him and he was a real racers racer.
I think I enjoyed Speedvision's live coverage of the Runoffs as much as I did F-1. I remember watching this very race live, and I enjoyed watching it again 19 years later. I definitely remember this car, one of my three favorites to watch during the Runoffs. The other two were Duane Davis' tube framed/rear drive Celica and Tom Patton's Sunbeam Tiger, that duked it out in GT-2. Thanks for posting this.
You used to work on my Honda's back in the late 90s and into the 00s, thanks for posting these videos of your races! I hope things are going well for you.
