Currently hailing from a basement shop somewhere in North Carolina, Wes, a.k.a. Geeksmithing, creates geek and nostalgia inspired projects of all kinds using any new material or technique he can get his hands on including anything from 3d printing, CNC, laser cutting, prop making, robotics, electronics to even a bit of woodworking.
I do accept commissions on occasion. If you would like something unique built for you, hit me up at any of the social media platforms below.. Thx!
Oi! Por favor, ative as legendas no seu "RU-vid Creator Studio" em "Video Details" e "Subtitle and language certification". Assim consigo acompanhar suas instruções. Foi o @FurtherFabrication quem me enviou para seu vídeo. Thank you man!
They are all broken ones found on eBay. I want to incorporate some in some future projects and am only willing to permanently alter them if they were broken first. 🤓
I don't have a raspberry Pi, but I do have one of the NES: Classic consoles they came out with several years ago 😂 It has far more data space than what it utilises, so you can attach it to a computer and inject any NES game you have the software of. I've wanted to somehow install it inside of the Lego NES.
Do you know if its possible to do this with an iPhone for an IRL stream? I am looking to have a 3d model placed in a specific gps location and then when I walk to where it is IRL I will see it
Definitely. Google has "Geospatial Creator" which is a powerful toolset to do what you are describing. There are some tutorials on it on RU-vid. I'm looking forward to playing around with that myself.
Very helpful video! Have you ever been in a situation like this, where you want to make this project, but don't have a 3D printer or the proper tools to align the rails evenly, or even access to a hacksaw to cut the rods? My first DIY rotary was fudged by modifying a cheap manual tile cutter! like this one: www.google.com/shopping/product/14706010976083019055?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=tile+cutter&prds=eto:8423689674602402750_0;14964676468005019102_0;12404096926844394144_0,pid:10961048084714379866,rsk:PC_16325872588208512986&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjXzNbZkdKEAxUFkYkEHWvFCScQ9pwGCAg
Raster engrave is like coloring in a picture with a crayon, moving side to side slowly working your way down the image. The vector engraving, i.e. scoring, is like tracing an outline with a black marker on and around your drawing. You can use it to draw the details. It's often way faster than doing the same operation in a raster engraving mode as it's not limited to just side to side. Hope that makes sense. Good luck!
I do not know for certain (as I don't have one like that) but I would just recommend trying a modest setting and working up from there in order to not wreck the tube. Maybe 60% power at the time settings recommended in description/ video?
I'm going to use this idea as a clue in a scavenger hunt. Do you have other ideas on your chanel that can be used for a scavenger hunt clue or in a escape room?
@@Geeksmithing I shouldn't use it in a scavenger hunt! Way not? And when do you think you will post the next project? (It's bin 11 months since your last video)
I recently acquired a K40 machine and downloaded the K40 Whisper program and the Inkscape program as well. Do I need the original program dongle to operate the machine?
Great question! I wish I had a solid answer for that for a project that was over five years ago. This was a very early project with the CNC and I'd hazard a guess that I didn't know or want to do a tool change. Good idea to revisit this project! 🤓👍. Thanks for watching!
Well, thanks for this. It has reassured me that I can DIY this thing up to snuff. I've been tinkering with 3D printers for a bit over a year now, upgrading them beyond recognition. I think I'm going to get the Vevor K40 laser cutter/engraver to tinker with and hopefully build a reliable machine out of it!
This is the cutest little robot I need one, You definitely did the right thing by just repairing it. But I want to upgrade the hell out of it, I would fully automate. Great video!
Pick one: 1: It hadn't been done before. 2: It was fun. 3: I like creating things. 4: It was a challenge. 5: People's reactions to it have been amazing. 6: It was picked up and published in a prominent magazine. 7: You must be new to my channel. 8: Why not?
