This is a rhetorical statement to prove a point. It doesn’t negate the rest of what Jesus said about himself or the simple fact that he was crucified precisely because he said he was God and the fact he accepted worship as God and forgave sin as only God can do.
Jesus asked that question, for the same reason that God asked Adam who had told him that he was naked. Jesus wanted this man to recognize that he was seeing God in flesh just as God want Adam to admit that he had sinned. and when Jesus mentions the psalm about humans being gods it is not in the same sense as deified gods but in the sense of rulers, judges and magistrate. every single reference in the bible where jesus makes a reference to his equality with God is a direct statement that he is God there is no argument here no matter how many different ways you twist the scripture to fit the agenda

Jesus claims he can do whatever the Father does and only him cause if you know Christianity, they are One and share the same will. This is why if you read the rest of it, you must honor the Son as you honor the Father because you don’t get the Father without the Son.
@@yaridaskale4851 wrong. Jesus DID speak greek AND aramaic as greek was the common language back then same as English is the common language of today. The New testament was also written in greek. Again because it was the common language during the 1st century AD in Israel.

For one it was the old Greek (koine Greek) that was a common language and not everybody around that time spoke it. For two Jesus was send for the lost sheep of Isreal which means he would have ministered in the language they could have understood which was Aramaic. Semitic language is a branch that is hard to understand let alone to write a book of over 700k words.
