It's a real shame this accident happened. Was quite keen to go on this ride when it opened as I had followed its progress, but the crash put me off. Despite all the safety measures i'd be too nervous to go on the Smiler. Glad lessons have been learned from it.
This might help: The restraints on almost every rollercoaster today uses hydraulic powered pistons that are used on airplane spoilers, and one restraint has two of them so there literally two airplane spoilers holding you in the spoilers can hold up easily on the airplane that weighs like 20 tons and in the air traveling at 800km/h so im sure it will keep you safe and on the seat.
I can understand why people would get scared as im a massive roller coaster person and i have had a time where i collapsed in the queue for a rollercoaster due to fear (granted this was caused by a friend who none stop went on about how brand new the coaster was), but out of every single roller coaster ive rode i can say without a doubt that Icon at Blackpool and Sik at Flamingo Land were the 2 that I felt safest on, and you may think "why is he mentioning Sik and Icon" well both Sik and Icon are Mack coasters which have Lap bars and not over the head restrains Reminder: I've rode every single coaster at Flamingo Land, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, yes that's not loads but its enough to give a decent judgement about the restraints and what feels safest
Ok, somthing i wasn’t worried about i am now. I am a larger lady, could this meen it wouldn’t. Be safe? I am blind so can’t see how the seat and restraints are and i am going go on the new ride in a week. Very excited but i am a bit worried now
Its not called the marmiliser anymore, and amy references to it were removed. It means 'to destroy someone', and references were removed for... pbvious reasons after the horrific smiler crash which left people amputated and scarred for life
Thank god our line was only 10 minutes in the rain at Nemesis reborn 🤣 it was Wednesday and was raining so no one was actually there except from me and my mum.
I’m terrified of roller coasters and got in this one at six flags to try and overcome. My safety harness did not come all the way down so I had to hold onto dear life for the air time. Found out an old woman died from the same thing a few years prior. So yeah I’m still scared of roller coasters
Start of May went to Thorpe Park, some D*CKHEAD on Stealth threw a 3" rock. It obviously hit _ME_ on my head, broke and bounced off me to hit my mate's boob. 😬 (Yes, my head hurt for the entire day) (She was okay as her chest is rather large. Plus I took the brunt of it 😅 )
I once had that someone was recording, and i think they dropped it or sum but the ride went crazy and we got stuck, for 45 minutes🤦♀️ they did give us vip passes for the time we got stuck
