question... my own dmv cant even give me a straight answer.. i have a cdl class A with restrictions E,L and O. which is clearly for pickup and gooseneck, but i was thinking of getting the restrictions removed but the question is. Do I have to go to school now like i am starting new or can i just get another permit and take the tests in the correct setup?

Idk. I get paid $30 an hour plus overtime. 70 hour work week. OTR you don’t get paid unless the wheels are moving. Hourly, I can wait 2 hours to get loaded and STILL be getting paid. Oilfield is the place to be if you have a cdl. My hometown is 2 hours away. I’m home every weekend. I guess depending on where the person lives, it might not be a good option.
I’m a truck driver in the Texas oilfield. 100k+ a year, housing and food provided, I don’t sleep in my truck. I stay in a man camp! I’m home every weekend. I get paid hourly $30 plus overtime! Plenty of oilfield jobs in west Texas for anyone who’s interested in that.

Most of your points were incorrect. You’re not stuck where you’re training. Breakfast is provided as well as a hotel, where you’re in your room ALONE. You do sign a contract that’s different depending where you go. Everywhere I’ve researched that you’ll have to pay back is $5k - $7k. It’s actually a great decision for anyone to go through these programs. I made around $1,000 a week starting out on my own after training and once you get some experience you can leave and make a lot more than that!! For example you could get around 2 years experience and drive for Walmart starting out at $110k a year. This is a great option for people who don’t mind putting a little time in, to get their CDL for free and get experience along the way.
