Hi Rebecca. Thanks so much for your comment. That video is just a teaser. I have 8 more coming from the spectacular Rockies in coming weeks. Look out for those videos. Maximo
Hi. It looks like busses replace trains some of the way until the end of November. ※From 4/19 to 4/24, the bus will operate between Unazuki and Sasadaira. ※From 4/25 to around 11/30, the bus will return between Unazuki and Nekomata. Check their timetable here....> www.kurotetu.co.jp/en/timetable/ Maximo.
It’s all relative! Cost was about 1/2 to 2/3 the cost of other hotels in the region when we booked. It’s very expensive to travel in Australia. Almost on par with the US given our poor exchange rate at the moment. Maximo.
My self-technique is eating only a specific type per day so I don't get bored with breakfast. I understand food wastage if so many different menu each day for breakfast. Besudes, even 5-star hoteks all over the world have similar foods served at breakfast, instead if simple continental breakfast in Europe.
Thanks for your comment. Interesting way to go about breakfast. I've just come back from the US and given the somewhat limited options with some 'complimentary' breakfasts there, I have a newfound appreciation of some of the breakfasts i've had at some hotels in recent trips. Maximo.
I'm Japanese and live on the Gold Coast. I came across your video while checking out some videos for my trip to Hobart next month. I'm glad to see you enjoyed Japan so much in this video. I really laughed when I saw you say "meccha oishii"😂
Thanks so much for your lovely comment Moamao. I hope you like Hobart - bring plenty of layers as it can be cold that time of year. I'm going to Japan again in November and considering an other longer trip there next year. Look out for the next Japan videos after my Us and Canada ones have aired. Maximo.
I wouldn’t know as I’ve yet to find gluten free melon-pan but Jo is addicted to all things Melon-pan. Even found a Japanese bakery in Melbourne but she said it just wasn’t the same. 🥲Not even as good as the 7-11 variety in Japan.
We rode the Shinkansen in Gran Class On The Hokuriku Line. Gran Class tickets on this line to Kurobe-Unazukionsen Station cost ¥21,240 each. A reasonably large premium over standard tickets. The Shinkansen part of the journey took a 2 hr 17 Min for a distance of 336 km at speeds of up to 260 kph. We got off at Kurobe-Unazukionsen Station just in time to see an express Shinkansen rush by. We only had a few minutes to proceed to the regional station a couple of hundred meters away and buy tickets on the regional train. Check out my other video that covers this journey. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qG9B0cbhuck.html Maximo
I didn't know that - thanks for sharing. Enjoy this beautiful part of Japan. I'll be back in Japan in October as well - just Okinawa this time. Side trip from Taiwan. Maximo.
We had just stayed here last month. Apart from the dark lit atmosphere in the room during nighttime, we experienced something unexplained during the 1st night of our stay. We think this hotel is haunted. Has anyone experienced something that don’t feel right? Please comment here 👻
I have just completed the two day tour from Hervey Bay.I agree it was wonderful.Pristine , beautiful and peaceful. It was great to take the optional plane trip too.
Hi. Thanks for your comment. We were there in April. The Monsoon season starts in December. November is the second wettest month - so bring a rain coat. It is always hot and humid. Thanks for your comment. I can't recall If I had any soy sauce at either restaurant, however both claim they are gluten free and vegan. I can tolerate moderate levels of soy sauce, so it did not really register with me. Maximo.
Looks like a nice tour. I enjoyed our visit to Port Arthur years ago pre kids. We took our car on the spirit of Tasmania and spent a couple of days cruising about the area. Thanks fo another enjoyable video Maximo
We went there in September so not a peak time. We stayed in the town overnight and bought tickets one the same day without any issues. You can reserve a seat up to 3 months in advance online to guarantee your seat. Use this link: www.kurotetu.co.jp/en/reservations/ Maximo.

THANK YOU FOR THIS! This was just one of the hotels I have shortlisted for my forthcoming stay. you have provided exactly the key overview information , visuals and geographic proximity that one cannot get on Google maps. This video deserves a higher view count but RU-vid isn't perfect. Thanks again.
Thanks for the encouraging comment. I’ll keep doing my hotel reviews as they seem popular. You can support my channel by hitting the like and subscribe buttons. Maximo
I just checked their website. It’s still closed and expected to open in Autumn 2024. Looks like you have missed out. Just one more reason to book another trip to Tokyo! Maximo
Virgin australia just announced the closure of this route citing poor demand. They stop flying in Feb 2025. Demand poor due to a substandard product in my opinion, especially in Business Class.
Catching a train to or from the airport involves a surcharge of around $15 a trip. Thats why it costs so much more than other public transport in Sydney
Thanks for your comment. Probably more to do at Malcesine but Lazise does have a more tourist but nice feel to it. Bardolino was a great base to stay in and explore the region. Maximo
lols thats not typical business class. thats a crap premium econ flogged off as business class. anyone who pays for this product at the rate virgin charges is just dead set stupid
Great video, thanks for posting. Will be undertaking your journey in October 2024. Already decided to book a covered carriage due to wifes bad back, sheesh so good you did.
Enjoy and I hope the weather is kind to you. Also thanks for your kind support of the Channel Mark. Let me know if you have any questions. I’ll be happy to respond. Maximo
The hotel doesn’t look like a 5 star hotel at all. At most a 4 star. Also it’s too expensive for what you get, which is at a 4 star level at most. I was checking this hotel, but I decided to avoid it.
Thanks for your comment Paul. It is expensive now - we booked it a couple of weeks after Japan re-opened to foreign tourists after the pandemic and hotel prices across the board were low. There are less expensive hotels in the area but with smaller rooms and you can't beat its location. Also if you join as a JR Hotel member, you get a discount. I've stayed there twice now and would stay there again if the price was right. Maximo
Your video is helpful. I’m looking for the full review of this hotel to make a decision. Even I read a lot of reviews in Google maps claimed that about the darkness, i still go for it to stay. 😍
