Welcome to my humble channel. I'm The Viking General and as my name implies, I like to play strategy games, although I'm not the best at it. I want to offer a more laid back and relaxed viewing expierience during gameplay, without shouting and almost no swearing.
Right now I'm focusing mostly on Shogun 2, but I will probably also make 2-minutes explanation videos on the Rome 1 Total War remaster, and in the future Warhammer. I am not naturally short and concise in my natural way of speaking, so these 2 minute videos are a great way for me to exercise how to be to the point.
My favourite strategy games are virutally the entire total war franchise and all paradox games. So if you like to see something from one of those games, let me know!
Since we reached the goal of 250 subscribers, I have created a discord where we'll be able to share ideas and interact! You can find the link to the discord in the links section, or in the description of videos.
Idk why but i see the general having some sort of unique splash attack that affects everybody. Compared to other cavalry, the general can be awesome in bottlenecks like a bridge. i ve recently got 300 kills in a single charge for no reason lol.
Does this archer bait tactic not work anymore? Cause I keep trying to do it, ashigaru starting to get fired at and then just backing a little bit back, but then when i try and take my archers around all the enemy archers start moving too
I' m doing a domination campaign as Tanegashima (XL Modded Map) and noticed a nice interaction. When I was simply focusing on Kyushu, my Resources Value capped at normal values. But then...i decided to send a ship to unlock all clans on the map...and the chaos started. My Resources values are increasing each turn, snowballing without even the use of a single Trade Route. I think the increase in price is directly influenced by the number of provinces...a bit OP hidden mechanic i think.
Great vod. I know I am late to the party but a perfectly valid strategy I have been employing to great effect is running as fast as I can at the enemy and then at the last possible second going into yari wall and ordering them to attack, or even just ordering them to move the yari wall to the other side of the enemy unit. This is the best way to turn a hyper defensive unit into a really cheap and surprisingly competent offensive unit.
Hypothetical question since im playing vanilla, but what if you just played shimazu and converted to Christianity really early on. 2 turn imported matchlocks until the ashigaru/samurai unlock mid-late game.. would that be a decent firearm-centric campaign? Importeds don’t have to be amazing as long as they’re the only matchlocks on the field right? lol
I really don't get how any of these Shogun 2 youtubers are not capitalising on the hype around the TV series Shogun. You guys are literally sitting on a gold mine
