What kind of hobbyist would make 5 vehicles of the same type? I mean hobbyist, not a professional. I thought this video will compare the two brands. Waste of time.
There are different variants,Tiger II initial production, Tiger II Main production. T34/76, T34/ 85, and so on. As cutting as your remarks are, your comments are useful. Thanks for taking the time. ✝️
Szia Rick! Ahogy én tudom a magyar tankokat nem vonták be zimmerittel.A járműveket 1944-től egységesen sötétzöld színre festették.A színük Humbrol 114 Russian tank green volt. Most melyik szín felel meg ennek azt nem tudom. A fehér kereszteket gyakorta a fronton átfestették szürkével vagy a jármű alapszínével.
You're absolutely right. The Hungarian tanks did not have zimmerit. The 44 m TAS design I think, took some tips from the German Panther tank after Hungarian tank crews trained in Germany. The 44 m TAS never made it to the battlefield so this is a total what if on my part that their German allies would have shared their zimmerit recipe with their ally had the 44m tas made it it to mass production. Just having some fun 😁
Sorry to be the stickler, but this turret is not a Porsche turret. This turret is an “early production turret” actually designed by Krupp (not Porsche) and was planned to be used with Porches proposed hull design that were never produced as the Henschel hull design was chosen. These turrets were never made my Porsche but were instead made by Krupp. The “P” actually stands for “Production” as this was the first turret design for the two competing hulls (Porsche vs Henshel) until Henschel later made their improved version (which is what we see on almost all King Tigers). I usually just call the two either the Production Turret, or the Henschel Turret. Sorry to be the nerd here about this 🤓 Cheers!
Don't be sorry at all, you're completely right. Most people and model kit producers label it Porshe turret. If I label the video production turret it won't get as many views. So for me it's just a business decision ( such as it is) . I hope you liked the video and thank you for taking the time to comment. Rick
I know the box probably said porsche turret, but they had nothing to do with manufacturing them. All turrets made by krupp...it's early and production turrets. Kit manufacturers should get this right by now. Superb model though.
I'm glad you liked it, it was a good project. Your right on the turret but history frequently gets things wrong and what history gets wrong tends to stick in people's minds unfortunately.
Nice work Rick. 1/48th unfortunately isn't a very well supported scale but search around for 3D printed track sets, there's more and more on the market lately. Another issue in 1/48th is figures, Tamiya figures are too small which is disappointing. Good to see 1/48th stuff being built, keep the videos coming. TJ
@@Ricksarmoredmodels8539 henschel turret is better armored but it's just a box honestly, porsche looks more smooth especially when you look from the front
@chesse_spell_book perhaps your right, I always thought they were too heavy ( for most bridges) and consumed way too much fuel. But as modelers they have fantastic lines and I love them.
Early turret tank that survived until 1945 Germany. I just like the paint scheme, for me it's just all about having fun and I hope you enjoyed it anyway.
Looks good. For me I find it easier to roll out the putty to the desired thickness , then I put it on the model and finally cut away the excess putty and use that in my next section of zimmerit . I find it easyier than trying to spread it out on the model. Keep the vids coming. Cheers
I completely agree, my video " rare zimmerit tool" ( in regard to the lion roar zimmerit tool set) I demonstrate the method your talking about. Thank you for the kind words and I will keep the vids coming.
Hi there. I do love to see a comparison video, sometimes the differences between makes are miles apart. One thing I would ask though (being an impoverished pensioner in the land of the Great British price rip-off) is how much each of these kits actually cost. (Including additional accessories.) Basically, what I'm asking is whether paying more for the expensive kit is actually worth it. Anyway, have a nice one. my regards...
1/48 scale is a good budget scale. You build them straight out of the box and you can have a great result. It's a personal choice for me that I buy metal barrels and metal tracks. You can make your own grab handles out of spare stiff wire, that is an easy upgrade . Dig in its a great hobby, good luck and thank you for watching. Rick
My guess is that the 0.7 is for tanks with a larger pattern, like the Tiger I, while the 0.5 would be for tanks with a smaller pattern like a Panzer IV, both in 1/35 scale. But that's just a guess.
Nice models! I have always liked the look of the KV-2 and I have recently built the old 70's Tamiya boxing, a very dated kit but plenty of scope for adding detail. I remember reading about when the Germans first encountered KV-2's and nothing they had could penetrate the armour so they would attempt to disable the KV's by damaging a track and then keep their heads down until the KV ran out of ammunition and the crew would eventually surrender.
Yeah, I always wondered how the German spies didn't find out about the kv-1,kv-2 and the t34/76 before their invasion of the Soviet Union. Thank you, I appreciate it. Tamiya got me back into the Hobby from my childhood. So much more fun now with all the products they have now.
I do not make videos, so please take that as an observation not a critique. Just getting back into modeling, so your media hit my timeline. I wanted to hear what you had to say, but I could not. Not a slam. Good luck! @@Ricksarmoredmodels8539
@jeffreygeorge219 my father in law only want short footage for each thing he cooked. Unfortunately, because of that you didn't get to see the bowl of butter that was mixed with liberal amounts of garlic that he cooked with. We also had sauces to put on the food that was in front of me and possibly out of frame.
Me gusta el panther de solido que tienes ahi, esta muy bonito pintado...tengo casi todos los modelos y como tu me he hecho mis "propias creaciones" los tengo mucho cariño a estos modelos que buen complemento para los dinky toys ❤❤❤
They're all kinds of things you can use. Check out one of my other videos where I make a zimmerit tool out of a fabric cutter tension nut (round). Imagination is a great thing. Liang tool is very good and cheap. 8.00 when they first came out.
@@Ricksarmoredmodels8539 I'll check it out, last night I bought 2 small bags of of wheels and sprockets in the jewelry craft department . There is a few in there I can see that could be used for Zimmerit . I'm going to practice and see what results I get from them . The problem is finding proper scale, I would think .
@zachbowman9396 just use what you think looks good. In the end, we only need to be happy with the results of our work. It's great when we get outside appreciation, but we're our own worst critics right 😁.
