I Gotta Say, I started getting into Geppetto "Getting Down!"...But as far as FairyTale Forest goes,..I don't think Santa, & Especially "Jesus!"; Should be included There! "Just Saying!" But,..You Guys are Awesome!
I know this fun house since the mid 1960s. It had many gags and fun things to do at one time. The original downstairs was opened and where you went through the maze in the beginning, there were mechanical floors… one moving forward and back; the other side to side. Eventually those floors were removed and replaced by a blacklight mirror maze . There was a time you could spend hours sliding around in the barrel, but a child got his fingers caught on the mechanism so from that point, it was walk through only. In the back corner was a spinning tub. Recently mechanisms were found under the fun house floor indicating a human roulette wheel once operated there… way before my time. The moving staircase was always fun. Heading to the second floor, the main attractions were the climbing animals and silly mirrors. It was always fun to yell to people outside when passing the roller walkway. But the slide. That slide was the high light as it was waxed for speed. No need for a burlap sack to ride. I remember long lines going up the stairs to ride that slide over and over.
Awesome video in November of 23 my daughter and I visited Alice's restaurant and the church and had the opportunity to meet Arlo Guthrie's grandson Moe what an awesome time every year my family as well listens to Alice's restaurant 12:00 noon on our local HJY in Rhode Island
You guys see the neatest places! This is way better than regular TV. This reminds me of being a kid. Ringling, barnum, and baily and shrine circus. I think my favorite is the circus organs and the neat toys I'd beg my parents to get. I guess the flying trapez and the clowns. I love clowns! I like the horse shows and lion training. Oh and the elephants are so cool!
Someday I would like to visit there to see and interact with the stuff and see the audio kinetic ball machine I will film it for my channel and get all tracks
Absolutely wonderful vlog! Thanks for this! Would absolutely love to go here!! So much amazing history of such talented people. Praise to Greg for keeping the legacy of clowns going. Phenomenal collection. 🤡
@kristinel6352 it is always weird when you live close to something and rarely go. I can relate living so close to NYC, and whenever we have friends in town they are always surprised by some nyc places we have not gone to yet.
My family went there every summer back in the 80s. Great food. I didn't get back there for many years but around 2010 my family all met there because that's kind of central to where the interstate takes you. Nothing was the same. They already had so many corners cut that the next year it was Golden Corral. Our Golden Corral went under but the Paul Bunyan's turned me off so bad I won't drive 2 hours to eat there. I have made a 4 hr round trip for great prime rib, 6 hr round trip for beef jerky my wife wanted and around 4 hours for 2lbs(all they had) of Landjaegers that my whole family loved. I would drive an hour each way for 1985 Paul Bunyan food but what they had the last time was not worth it.
It was a farm, a small air port for the old canvas biplanes. Then in the 1960 that land was bought out by Modells, a big box store that had in the back a small movie theater with tiny benches constantly playing old black and white cartoons for the moms to leave the kid while shopping, yes they had a female matron at the entrance to the theater to watch the kids and make sure no one abducted them. Then in the 1990's Home Depot moved into the Modell's lot in Commack.
Usually overeating is a trauma response 😢 it’s not as simple as just someone being greedy. So sad, he was a handsome man and seemed like he was loved and a sweetheart.
@HelloIAmClutch we knew it would be amazing. But we were blown away. When you stand in those rooms and see how massive they are it really is breath taking.
I was wondering if you'd been there yet...well, you have! I've been there at least five times over the years. It has such an eerie yet mystical aura. Truly a collection of collections. Not being sure of your itinerary you weren't too awfully far from the grotto in Dickeyville, WI. That's a great attraction and has a gift shop as well. Note: The Burma Shave signs @31:06 brought to memory an elderly fellow(George Preston) who used to own a former gas station on the main highway through Iowa. The building was covered in old signs of all kinds. He produced a 'Burma Shave Rap' cassette in the late 80s or 90s which was amusing and he was also a guest on the Johnny Carson show. I believe he passed away in the mid 90s. Speaking on roadside America(if you don't already know) there was a series back in the late 80s - mid 00s called, 'Rare Visions and Roadside Revelations' for Kansas City Public Television. These three guys travelled around the country looking for unique roadside attractions. Well produced and quite engrossing. Sometimes you can find the DVDs floating out there for sale. Great video, thanks for sharing!
@jarlsoars1150 thank you so much. That was our one and only time to House on the Rock. The Grotto is on our list for our next trip to Wisconsin. Thank you for telling me about that Kansas TV show, we did not know about it but now we will find it and check it out.
Not family friendly at all. No strollers (umbrella) allowed inside and only paid golfers on course. I have a three year old who needs assistance with golfing. I had to pay for us both ($12.95 regardless of age) to do the course, in addition to my older child and husband. Staff is rude and unhelpful. There are many other better mini golf places on the boardwalk! Midevil fantasy golf was so much better!
I'm making Wisconsin Dells one of my stops on the next trip to the Midwest... Market Square Cheese and the Root beer museum are very high on the list 😁
@@JoeJoyHaveLanded what's fun about wall drug and the corn palace, are the old style giant billboards that go for miles on the interstate. By the time you get there, they have you all worked up that there is no way you can pass it. I've traveled all over the usa and lived in several states, coast to coast. I love attractions. So after I go through your videos, I'll share some neat places for you to check out. I'm 8n my 60s and had the travel bug since I could walk 😆. In fact, I just bought a new place in the mountains and preparing to move again. I can't wait to watch all your videos! Both of you are just a perfect match for this. Traveling is hard on relationships, I've been through a few tough ladies. I'm sl9wing down, but used to get the travel bug after a month or so. I wish I had youtube in my prime. Best of luck!
@JackStrap-dx5gf thank you for all the kind words. And suggestions are always recommended, we love learning about places we do not know of yet. The travel bug has bit us bade. Lol
I can imagine the world’s biggest rideable carousel at a theme park that’s a 60-foot-wide two-story model with a selection of rideable animals of various species along with chariots, spinning tubs, and some vehicles such as motorcycles!
The first time I ever was there, I was 12, my uncle took me there. It's one of my favorite places to stop at or I do anything else anytime I go to Wisconsin dells
