A legit tire shop doesn’t use rope plugs like this. They use a different kind of plug and they patch and apply a sealer on the inside. Most shops won’t repair a flat in that spot, Bc the puncture is too close to the sidewall of the tire, Which jeopardizes the safety of the customer
Here in America, a shop could easily be liable from patching side wall/shoulder damage if the customer is in any accident that the tire may have caused. We use patches that stick on from the inside and these patches will wear if its on the inside shoulder, basically ineffective. These rope plugs can be great for a pinch but really the tire should be replaced if its too close to the shoulder.
@@Camska427 you are right, most tire shops will refuse to make a repair on the side of the tire, but if tire was to blow it will by the time it got damage or go flat.. replacing (sidewall) damaged tire with a new one is the best course of action.
