As a Muppet fan, I respectfully disagree with the recent direction of the franchise. While I have no issue with individuals identifying as LGB individuals, I feel that the push for representation has become excessive, prioritizing pride over other important values. I believe that gender is binary, and non-binary is not a legitimate identity, but rather a form of narcissism. Gonzo's original dress-wearing was comedic and lighthearted, but the recent portrayal feels like a political agenda targeting those with different values. I understand the desire to challenge norms, but I think Gonzo's character could have been expressed in more creative and fun ways without confusing children about gender. As an adult, individuals can make their own choices, but pushing this ideology on kids is inappropriate. Jim Henson was open-minded and empathetic, but also had boundaries and common sense. I'm concerned that Disney and The Muppets are heading in a direction that will alienate fans and betray Jim Henson's spirit. If this continues, I predict a decline in popularity and a loss of the Henson Company's integrity.
the muppets already have a t4t couple anyway. floyd and janis are both canonically trans and are dating. in the muppets take manhattan, janis wears a suit to a wedding. this is nothing new, it's only just now happening with a main character. the joke with gonzo is that he's a "whatever". he's not anything except Gonzo.

I hate the ending of this video, the interpretation is more valuable than the intention but that doesn’t mean that whatever is said by a big group of people on the internet has to be true bc that’s the result the movie had on them. If you have an idea and u don’t know how to properly write and end up sending a bad message then that’s obviously your fault for being a negligent profesional and you deserve the criticism. BUT if you write a great store with beautiful messages but a political group decides to demonize your work in order to impose their political agenda (which is what’s happening with Cinderella) then it’s obviously not your fault, it’s that group who is to blame for not understanding and properly analyze your work before talking and taking advantage of that ignorance to impose your opinions on others, this is so simple to understand, the author deserves to not be used as a scapegoat whenever someone misinterpretes their work
Cinderella is not my problem with the movie, in fact I feel other characters are just a lot lamer than her. I am just not a big fan of the villains, because their only motivation is vanity and they are jealous that she is beautiful, forcing her to be a slave. These are such pathetic reasons to be villainous.
I'm a hetero guy, but I was really bullied from a young age for a long time. I never felt like I fully belonged. Gonzo on muppet babies back in the 90s was one of the first ever characters I could connect with. As an adult with the majority of my friends being queer I see so many of us can relate to the "weirdo" of a group. Gonzo will never not mean the world to me. Kermit was always the supportive friend I needed.

This video made me realize that, once I graduate, it’s feasible to start a theater company, and I think I can gain the resources to make it happen.
I just got into muppet babies unironically, when I found out, that Gonzo is voiced by the same voice actor who voiced Shoutmon (Ben Diskin). I just have Shoutmon in my mind everytime Gonzo speaks lmao Personally I don't mind baby gonzo wearing a dress. *But yeah! Companies and potential creeps should stay away from children if they're going to have such wild takes! Such as trans panic and child queerity*

to be honest i wasnt really suprised they made gonzo wear a dress i mean....... he wore wierder stuff .....im unsure if gonzo is even have a gender i mean he is married to a chicken.......he been struck by ligthing many tiems..........and its confmried he from space
This is exactly what I needed thank you! Also, I know this video is from 2 jears ago, but if you still have tea stains in your sink you could try removing them by rubbing hand soap on the stains! It's a trick learned from my mother to remove tea stains from ceramic mugs and porcelain cups. So maybe it also works on the sink?

This was very helpful. As a bigger older guy, I went with a thobe. Which is lightweight middle eastern robe that men wear. With some post apocalyptic (Mad Max) style larp, I feel good on aging and distressing the cloth. Your ideas on accessories were very inspirational.
There have been plenty of adaptations of Cinderella, over the years. The Grimm's version, for instance, gave the stepsisters their comeuppance, by having them suffer physical abuse, either at their own hands, or from the birds. There's another version that suggests that the ball lasted three nights, and that the birds had presented Cinderella with different dresses, one for each night of the ball. But the Disney version doesn't deserve so much criticism. She had never intended to meet a man, anyway. All she really wanted was a night off, from her abusive stepfamily. In fact, other Disney heroines, such as Ariel, Princess Jasmine, or Tiana had also never intended to meet a man. Ariel's original intention was to explore the land. Princess Jasmine wanted to explore life outside the palace walls. She had also said that if she married, it would be for love, not when she married. Tiana wanted to start her own restaurant. For them, romance was a subplot, and it was Cinderella who paved the way, for these characters. Plus, the Disney adaptations of the original stories don't follow the books that they were based on, anyway.
I will say that clothes can really affect a persons appearance. I’ve recognized someone on a cruise ship purely by their necklace before bc their outfit and hairstyle had changed so much from the night before. All that being said, loved the essay. Love Cindy! Even the animators are quoted as saying Cindy had more “piss and vinegar” than their precious heroines. Exemplified when she makes her comment about the music lesson and you can HEAR her verbal quotation marks
Gonzo's been canonically into hens for years. Gonzo's gender presentation is just catching up to the rest of his Iconic-ness. I'm not just saying this bc Gonzo's my favourite Dickens.

So is Cinderella in her mid twenties when she finally goes to the ball? Or did her mother die in childbirth and Cinderella has no memory of her mother at all? And how old was she when her father died? Did her abuse start while her father was still alive? I always assumed her abuse began after her father died. So if it had been 19 years, either her mother died in childbirth or shortly afterward, or Cinderella was in her twenties when she went to the ball.
I'm really glad you pointed out that Cinderella did not care at all whether or not she met the prince at the ball, let alone even realizing that she did in fact meet him. She just wanted to have a fun night out, and she makes that very clear in the movie. She only mentions the prince at the ball as an excuse to run away
