My name is Kata :) I'm customizing dolls since January of 2014. I have customized Monster High, Ever After High and Blythe dolls all around the world:) Customizing means: I change the look of these types of dolls; I reroot, recarve, repaint and redress them. I give a totally new look, a totally new personality to these dolls. They will be unique and more beautiful. They will be OOAK (one-of-a-kind) dolls.

@@LoriNicolls not every glue has this side-effect. I had glue which yellowed really bad, but its yellowness was visible at the first use too, every design become a bit yellowy. This is the "Antonio" version of E6000. It was also impossible to save the eyechips after some months and peel off the glue, even if I used glass. Now I have a version which makes the prints more vibrant. Interesting 🤔 it is simple E6000 glue🤷🏻♀️But I don't know how this will look like over time. So if you find a version that you like, try to buy from the same seller again, maybe they can provide the same quality.
@@sensitivecreative I always make the hair first, and the last step is the faceup. Maybe you can reach a similar effect with a hot tool (hair straightener or curler) by flattening the hair from layer to layer, starting from the bottom part. But I don't think that method is good enough 🤷🏻♀️

I actually used the hair extensions which are for humans😂 but it still worked well with the tutorial u gave ❤ THANK U MY DOLL LOOKS LIKE A SUPERSTAR❤❤❤🎉🎉
MSC is safe after drying, children can play with it. However, custom dolls become a piece of art after customization, they are not meant for children to play with. Some children are a bit aggressive with dolls, so they can't be gentle with the head and faceup. If you buy a custom doll for a child, they might ruin the new face fast.
The paint can't stick to the surface without the sealer, it is also good to protect the original skin/plastic from the paint stain if you want to change the faceup after a while.
Hi, thanks for this video. i am starting on my doll repaint journey and watching as many videos and tutorials as i can. I noticed you're the only one who sands the doll face before spraying. Is this really necessary? I plan to repaint only Barbie dolls and i think they are too small for sanding. Is it okay if I not sand them? Thanks!
Blythe dolls have a different type of material, not vinyl like Barbie's head. You don't need to sand Barbie, Monster High, etc heads, but it was a great question!:) I have many videos for Monster High dolls too, I recommend those to you instead of my Blythe doll tutorials 🤗
My carving knife is from an online store, but you can find similar in some bigger craft stores as well. The sanding sponges are from a hardware store. All of my paints were bought online (amazon, ebay, official websites, etc) so you can buy them online if you can't find them in offline stores around you. You can use google too to search for items if you can't find on Amazaon for example.
Only for plastic and resin (not for vinyl like Barbie/Monster High) I can recommend Liquitex Matte Varnish or Tamiya, but Mr. Super Clear is much better than those!! Not surprised why Mr. Super Clear is the most used spray sealant, simply because it is the best. Unfortunately not everyone can get access to it, but if you can, please use that! If you have an airbrush, there are techniques to make your own sealant, some people made a video about it already.
Terrific tutorial, especially for a beginner with Blythe like me. It's nice to see that the process for creating the exact eye chip color and style I want, is doable. Thanks for sharing!
These dolls are not always in stock, you need to contact them through their webpage or Instagram, but here is their webpage www.villagedoll.com/ you can buy in-stock dolls but you can always message them and ask a doll (but you will need to wait 3-6 months then so they can make it for you).
Is it mandatory to add a layer of Mr super clear before painting? I painted a monster High doll without using it first, will I need to restart? Thank you!
Hi! Could you use a plastic bag instead of nylon? If its just to protect the head from glue I think it would work but I would like to have clearance before I try it! Thank you for the tut! Edit: I tried it, it sticks to the glue but I don't mind it!
