Here is your homework- So many reactors know nothing about The Warning, or have gotten wrong information about these ladies so this is a brief history of the band- The Warning is made up of 3 sisters from Monterrey, Mexico. Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra Villerreal Velez. • They started early. Their parents loved all types of rock music and there was always music, or concert videos playing. They would spend Saturday evenings watching performances by Queen, AC/DC, Elton John, and many, many other bands. • In 2005 when Daniela was 5 years old and Paulina was 3, they were enrolled in music initiation classes- they loved it. Alejandra was only around 1 year old so she had to wait for her time but went through the same classes. • They all started classical piano lessons when they were between 6 and 7 years old. • In 2007 when Daniela was 7 years old their dad bought them the video game “Rock Band” and they completely fell in love with playing it. Dany played the guitar, Paulina was 5 and playing the drums, and Alejandra (being only 3 at the time) stood next to them and clapped along. They loved the aspect of performing on stage and dreamed of doing that. • In 2008 their dad asked Daniela if she wanted to learn another instrument (along with the piano). She chose the guitar. Around the same time Paulina chose the drums (she was 6). At that time Ale’ was still too young but when she turned 6, she wanted to play the bass but had to wait until she was 7 to be big enough to hold and play it. They then realized they could play those 3 instruments together and they began playing as a band. • In 2014 they were playing in their basement studio that their dad made (selling his Harley Davidson motorcycle to afford it) and decided to make a video for their grandparents so they could see how far they had progress. The file was too big to just email so dad uploaded the video onto RU-vid and sent the grandparents the link. The video was Metallica’s Enter Sandman and it went viral and was seen by millions (well over 25 million to date) include Metallica. Kurt Hammet shouted out Paulina on the drums. Here is the 2014 Metallica Enter Sandman cover from their basement studio affectionately called “The Warning Cave”: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1boUYB9LFJY.html • Another person who saw that video was Ellen DeGeneres and in 2015 the girls made their US debut on the Ellen show. They girls wanted to go to the prestigious Burklee College of Music to learn musical theory and more, and were trying to raise the money to do so. Ellen heard this and when they were on the show, she (and Target) presented each of them with a check for $10,000 so they could attend. • Because Alejandra was only 10 years (well below the minimum age to attend) they sent in an audition tape to show she was capable of handling the music and classes. Here is that audition tape of them playing Muse’s Hysteria at their school “end of school year party”. I think it was pretty clear she was more than capable. 2015 performances of Muse’s Hysteria (10-year-old Ale´ steals the show on bass): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fU26wmlF3yg.html • Here is the Ellen show visit, and a diary of their time at the Burlee College of Music, along with a surprise at the end: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3eV1VGel4lE.html • Here is a 2016 Ted X performance from The Warning: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dyJlh0tNK6Y.html • Here is a 2017 Ted X performance from The Warning: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pj5ue3M-v6o.html • Dany sings lead on about 75% if the songs. Pau sings lead on about 25% of the songs (either while drumming, or while at the keyboard, or just out front). Ale’ is a little shy about singing lead but steps in and sings lead when needed. All 3 can literally jump in and sing lead on any song if needed (with no drop-off in quality) and their harmonies in songs are simply amazing. • They have all given master classes on their instruments, and song writing, and performing (even at as young as 18 years old). • In 2015 they released an EP called Escape the Mind. It was a mix of different kinds of songs as they sorted out their musical style. • They released their first album in 2017 called XXI Century Blood (21st Century Blood). • They released their second album in 2018 called Queen of the Murder Scene. It was a concept album telling the story of a young woman’s journey from desire, to love, to infatuation, to obsession, to psychotic, to murder, to remorse, and finally to suicide. It was an amazing album and was up for, and won, many Independent Music awards in 2019. • In 2021 Metallica asked 53 artists to take any of the 12 iconic songs from their Black album and do a cover (any way they wanted to) for their Black List album, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Black album. Alessia Cara (Canadian pop star) was asked to participate but had no idea what to do. Because she shares the same management group as The Warning, she contacted them for help. It was difficult to do as Alessia was in Canada and The Warning were in Mexico and travel with COVID was not happening. They made it work and developed/recorded this completely re-imagined song in one week. They created the music video with the same logistical restrictions. Because of that you will see that Alessia appears as a projection on the wall in the video as she was not there. It was recorded in an abandoned textile mill outside of Monterrey, Mexico. Here is the official music video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9tKQgesCcTc.html and here is the live concert version with Alessia Cara’s background vocals: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vg9vNE7gm0I.html • In 2022 they released their third album (first since signing to Lava Records) called Error. It is simply amazing! • Here is a 2022 professionally shot concert to give you an idea of their skills, their power, their stage presence, and their writing abilities. Teatro Metropolitan CDMX concert. The actual concert starts at around the 2:00 minute mark and it is timestamped so you can see each song title. Entire 2022 Teatro Metropolitan CDMX Concert: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7hbBa1-1p7M.html • In 2023 they opened 4 shows for their absolute idols Muse in Mexico City in front of 60,000 fans. Muse was so taken by their performances that they asked them after the 4th show to go to Europe and do 5 more shows with them! • In 2023 they were invited to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards. They were the only band to perform that was not up for some type of award. Only about 6 people in the crowd even knew who they were but as you can see from the 2 songs the audience quickly fell in love with them- o More: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cZWSDsDsbZU.html o Evolve: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-97Pxe9KTgJc.html • In 2024 they released their fourth album Keep Me Fed which ushered in a new and more sophisticated sound. Here are some songs from the new album- o Automatic Sun: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PDFH9AcPpyA.html o Burnout: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HfLRHEuvOT4.html o Six Feet Deep: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-j13uxB6fDvk.html o Sick: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5IS53CZjT6o.html o Hell You Call a Dream: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s6b_FgQnXL8.html o Que Mas Quieres (co-directed by Paulina): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1lfb-280MhU.html

You should keep in mind that she is Pau, the drummer and she is not the main vocalist of the band. I'm sure that when both of you know more about the personal and professional stories of these 3 incredible genius artists you'll become fans of them because I think I perceive that you have enough sensitivity for it. Pau said: “...Well… This next song… I had said that I was never going to play it live… Because it’s a very personal song… But seeing you all here… Gathered together… It’s incredible to think that there are eight thousand people here right now… WHO CAME TO SEE US… And… Honestly I’m kind of sick, my voice is not so good… But… I want to sing this song to you…” And for some who didn't understand: Her first interruption when she was already singing was not because of a mistake on her part, but because she made the audience understand that if they sang it with her, then she couldn't do it, so she tells them: “...No! Necesito cantarla, oigan…” ("...No! I need to sing it..."). The entire video of this extraordinary and emotional song is a roller coaster of feelings and emotions. Pau's tearful smile is beautiful, as is the crowd singing along to the melody and at the end her name... "...Paulina!!... Paulina!!..." And the last thing she says: "...Muchas gracias... Los quiero muchísimo..." (“...Thank you very much... I love you so much...”). Anyone who doesn't get emotional at this is a heartless psychopath. Thanks and greetings from México!! 🇲🇽 🤘😁✌️ .

I know everyone wants you the witness the Pepsi Center show and a lot of the newer stuff, but to get a grip on a bit of their history and goals for the band, the "entire" 2017 TedX performance will put you more in touch with where they came from. I think a couple delves into their earlier days will allow you to appreciate how far they've come with their newer stuff. Their entire journey is on YT and it's more of a chasm than a rabbit hole...:) However you do it. Keep us Warned..... 🤘😎

This song was never meant to be played as a band! Only added as a bonus track on Error album with the express wish, by Pau, that she never would perform it live. A song written and sung by Pau, while playing the piano. 😊⚡️

The only difference between this and the studio version is that in this, the piano is tuned. The song was added last minute to the Error album. As Pau said in the beginning, she vowed never to play it live because as she described it "this song is intensely personal".

As you get to know The Warning more you discover that they have several styles of rock but they are invariably pure rock!! And I continue to reaffirm my humble but very own opinion that with its structure, its cuts, transitions, rhythm changes, modulations, choruses, pre-choruses, drum attacks, its endings… All of this is masterful. The great beauty of their art is in its simplicity but all of this always seems to be at the right time and in the right way, bordering on perfection and predominating sophistication. There could always be other options, but the ones they chose seem to be the exact ones to create a masterpiece of art. Also impregnating everything with a natural touch of inevitable sensuality that only adds improvement and with the feeling, sensitivity and passion of their blood, race and culture. Each of its pieces can be very different, but always with all the TW flavor. It’s very clear that these sisters have no limits. They have that gift that only belongs to the geniuses that appear among us every certain period of time. This is the youngest veteran band in the rock world. Without forgetting that there are only three of them, yes, but three true geniuses in their field. Melodically they are the best, without a doubt. They are the queens of the hook, the riff, the key changes, the contagious rhythms, the catchy melodies, the sublime voices, the unbeatable harmonies and the ambiguous but deep and powerful messages. And this happens song after song… INCREDIBLE!! The new masters of rock: The warning ⚡ I suggest that you both react to the OMV "Automatic Sun" at the "Tecate Pal Norte Festival", the performance, the video and the song (the band's favorite according to what they have said in interviews) is prodigious, to give it just one adjective. For now I'm subscribing to your channel because I hope to see many more from you to my favorite band of all time. Thanks and greetings from México!! 🇲🇽 🤘😁✌️ .

Just a heads up… You’ll likely hear a lot of stories in the comments about the meaning or origin of this song. Take it at face value. The only thing that is “fact” about this song is that it is very personal to Pau. Pau has never specifically stated anything publicly about why this song was written. Breathe seemingly was never intended to be released. Lava Records wanted a 14th song to be included on their Error album so Pau recorded this herself and agreed to put it on the Error album under the condition she never had to play it live. They did do a lyric video for Breathe but that was it. They had only played the recorded studio version of Breathe at the Teatro Metropolitan concert in 2022 over the PA while they were offstage at intermission doing a wardrobe change. It’s believed by many that this performance was spur of the moment decision made by Pau and her speech at the beginning of the song seems to back it up but there have also been reports that Pau was warming up singing Breathe backstage before the show. I think this was optional for Pau whether or not she sang it depending on how she felt both emotionally and physically as she was still having flu symptoms during the show. Regardless it doesn’t change the fact that this is a beautiful song performed beautifully by a beautiful person.

Thank you, I was about to type this out. Only Pau knows the meaning behind the song, and that’s fine. I have heard but am not sure if it’s fact, that Pau gave Lava a home recording of the song. They put it on the album - untouched.

This performance was on the extended play stage , recorded on Friday. Only a couple less than a minute clips were shown on the Tuesday awards broadcast. Each artist here played 2 songs. The Warning were the only artist to do both their songs in 1 take, and only artist not nominated for an award. As they were coming off stage, the show producer, over an open mic, said "Holy Sh!t, I'm a fan" "More" is the other song they performed here, lead single from the 4th album, Keep Me Fed. "Evolve" is from their 3rd album, Error, and is often used as their show closer.
