You are so brave to go on those straight down drop rollar coasters..and the Psyclone. I am going to Six Flags in 2 days and they have a ride called the Joker which is just a copy of Psyclone, and a rollar coaster that is called Dr.Diabolical it goes 150 ft in the air and then it freezes right at the top of the hill so you can see how high you are and just scream. It goes straight down..i am going to try both of them, maybe. I have been on crazy rollar coasters but they have never had straight down drops. Wish me luck! YOUR SO BRAVE!!😮💨🎢
hi, do you think your french improved?? and how was the sense of community? was it easy to make friends? how was the night life / party scene in the program?
Can't wait to be there for my 45th, first time to Cayo Coco. Varadero is also good but I love Cayo Santa Maria! I never go hungry, love the people there and beaches are in the top 10 in the world! Must bring all small Canadian bills, cash!
The first time I went to Cuba was in Varadero actually :) 10 years ago with my parents. Totally agree about the locals being so lovely. Gorgeous beaches as well 🏝
@@AnaVFindYourFire ello there Can you share the evntents and shows they have just to be prepared and plan our day and what other activities we should try to explore even in resort and out of resort please share if possible. Thank you in advance and very nice video
Hi Ana! I have just been accepted to participate in Explore in Chicoutimi but I'm wondering if I need to drop out of my single summer course (it's at 1:30pm every Wednesday). Do you think it's possible for me to maintain a summer course while participating in the Explore program?
Hi, I just applied for trois rivières. How did you get to the university? Did they provide transportation from the airport or did you have to arrange your own? Where did you fly into? Thanks!
Hi, no, they did not provide transportation. My parents drove me from Toronto but you can book a bus to take you from Montreal airport to Trois-Rivieres station. From the station, you can take a taxi to the campus. Hope that helps!
Hey I’m doing the summer program this year and I just had a few questions 1) How many days did you guys stay at Montreal? And Quebec City? Where did you guys stay and did you have to pay for those accommodations? 2) Also, when you bought your plane ticket, did you go to montréal or Quebec city and just take a bus to Trois-Rivières??
I loved your transition shots and music integration! I do have a couple questions for you if you have the time: -on the explore program website it mentions the residence has no cooking tools. Did you/your roommates coordinate and bring stuff from home or buy items when you arrived? If you bought them, what did you do at the end of the program, donate them somewhere? -Any items you were glad you brought with you/ wish you had though to bring? -Do you have a favorite activity/outing from the program?
Hi Keisha! Thank you :) 1) For my particular apartment, one of the UQTR students (not on explore) stayed in her room during the summer while her other 3 roommates left, so the apartment was already equipped with the necessary cooking utensils (pots, pans, plates, forks, spoons, knives, etc.) and she was nice enough to let me and 2 of my other Explore roommates use them. However, for other apartments, I believe they either coordinated what to bring from home prior to it OR they bought the cooking tools from a local grocery store/dollarama and just split it from there. 2) I brought a giant mug that doubled as a mini-bowl and I brought my own mini kettle as well (looking back it was not necessary to bring the kettle bc of the roommate that already had all the kitchen utensils but you might need to esp. if your apartment will be unfurnished). Other than that, if you forget anything there is a local mall nearby, a dollarama and grocery stores as well. 3) I do have a few favourites: the Montreal trip, Parc national de la Mauricie, and this adventure course that I unfortunately don't remember the name. But yeah, I most definitely recommend going to most of the activities/outings :)
Hi! I just got accepted to the spring session at UQTR! Just had a few questions: During which session did you go, and how was the weather? Also, would you recommend packing anything specific, considering the weather, outings, and residence (more specifically clothing, but everything else as well)? Thanks!
Hi Sewit! Congratulations :) I went during the spring session as well - the weather was more or less what you would expect during the springtime. Some days are chillier than others but I found that bringing a light jacket was enough and of course there were some rainy days as well so definitely don't forget your umbrella! Pack mostly pants and light sweaters. It typically gets hotter near the end so keep that in mind. My favourite activities were the Montreal trip, Parc nationale de la Mauricie and this adventure course that I forgot the name of LOL. But I def recommend going to most of the activities that they plan. They're a great way to make friends and experience things outside the classroom.
Hey would you say your french improved after doing this program? I’m thinking of doing it this summer so far I’ve asked people but all of them said they already knew how to speak French fluently
Hey Dakota! Sorry for the late reply - I was beginner/intermediate when I started and I would say being in that environment helped me get comfortable with speaking French, definitely. I'm better at reading/writing in French in general so being surrounded by native speakers/French learners all the time was really encouraging.
Ana V thank you for the reply better late than never!! And oh wow that’s amazing I’m basically at the same level as you were beginner/intermediate, I can read and write in French really well but I can’t really speak it I can only say small phrases so my french teacher recommended this program. However I won’t be going this year anymore my parents won’t let me lol. What was the age ranges when you went? I’ll be 21 by the time the next explore program comes around
Hey, Ana! I'm waiting for the draw for Explore and my first choice was UQTR. Would you be able to give an estimate of how much pocket money you recommend people to bring? - just trying to estimate how much I should save up for this July.. Thanks!
Hey there! It's been a while so I don't have an exact estimate but basically, weekly expenses would be groceries, going out to eat, some people went to clubs every Friday (not my thing, but do you!), we also had excursions to Quebec City and Montreal, and if you opted to stay there for the night, you could, but you have to pay & look for your own hostel/Airbnb. The hostels I stayed at were around $28-35/night. Keep in mind that they also give you a total of $500 throughout the program :) Pocket money is absolutely up to you, depending on your situation, but as long as you keep these things in mind you should be able to create a budget for yourself! Best of luck 💜
I reallllllly need to go on the Carnival Vista. I recently got back from the Carnival Liberty and it was a blast, but the vista is just so beautiful! Cant wait to see more!
