Bashers must be responsible. Vloggers should not capitalize on the "mistakes" of others. If the critics can bash they should.offer themselves as alternatives
That's kind of weird. I was just listening to Kris Kristofferson on RU-vid the day before yesterday, on the 28th. The song Highwayman was a great one. I just found out he had passed when I saw this video.
I am very sad. His song 'The Pilgrim: Chapter 33' helped me a lot with my battles with the Black Dog. Pilot, Rhodes scholar, actor and the epitome of Outlaw Country along with the other Highwaymen. I loved the vulnerability and authenticity of his lyrics. Rest in peace Kris.
I've spoken to so many Pinoys who find Arnel's story inspirational. It really is. I hope he continues his Journey and doesn't like the old guys up front force him to over extend
NO WAY should he quit!!! Give him a break! ALL singers have bad days. For me, Arnel Pineda has a great, beautiful voice... actually, he sings better than Steve Perry ... and a lot better looking!!! Stay put, ARNEL ... stay strong... don't you dare give up!!! 💪🫶 Love from Portugal 🇵🇹
Here’s the issue: I don’t know what tix cost in Rio, but in the US it can cost thousands for 2 tickets. When I’m paying thousands to see a band I refuse to accept the singer had a bad night. There’s no refund for a bad night. Arnel is responsible for 25% of Journeys appeal. 25% is the band and the other 50% is the fact the Journey is a staple soundtrack through most of our lives. That means we know these songs, we want to hear them played to perfection. To relive the memories associated with these songs. No excuses.
Arnel is the voice of Journey. He has been for seventeen years, longer than Steve. The keys these songs are written in are simply killers for the people who sing them year after year and no one has lasted as long as Arnel, and he's now 57 years old! His voice isn't what it was seventeen years ago, but for him to continue to perform at this level has been astounding.
I have a friend who rates Steve Perry as a better singer than Freddie but I disagree. I think I found some information about you on Google. Quite the polymath! Keep up the stellar work.
Thanks! Both were great singers. Freddie was a better frontman in terms of the dramatic aspect of what he did but Perry had one of the finest voices in popular music history
Thank you Adam for such an interesting and respectful commentary on Humble Pie. I am a huge fan of Steve Marriott, both with Small Faces and later the Pie and some of his solo work. I especially love Small Faces. I think they were brilliant and very far ahead of their time 1965-68. Sadly, here in the US a few years back, I had a hard time finding anyone who had even heard of them. I believe that now, thanks in great part to YT and music reactors featuring their works, they are once again (along with Humble Pie) gaining a new fan base. Keep up the good work!
Absolutely. I blame record labels for some great bands doing well in some markets and poorly in others. The internet has really ended that corrupt business model
@@AdamsMusicBox Thanks very much. I really appreciate how eclectic your taste in music is and how it is reflected in your content. Salutations from Belfast, Northern Ireland.
- Greetings from up north in Manchester - Good to see you have a conversation with one of my musical elders that is West Coast Kam earlier - All the best - 👍🏼
The first album is great. The music takes you to another place and the surreal lyrics are from another place - possibly London, Seattle or Denver. For some reason every copy of the album I bought skips at the end of the first track. Turns out it's not a defect, it's clever production. Also they deserve an award for one of the best song titles, "I feel better than James Brown".
Sorry, not interested in some middle aged bloke spending 6.21 mins rabbiting on about something I probably know more than him about. I suggest actually hearing the excellent Pie would have helped!!
On the contrary, I really appreciate it when a YT host does a deeper dive into the back ground and history of classic rock bands. I think it can deepen the appreciation and hopefully educate the younger folks who were not around at the time and have never heard of such great, but underappreciated groups like the Pie. I am fascinated by Steve Marriott. Not only was he one of the greatest of rock voices, but had an amazing life story - full of ups & downs, success and tragedy. RIP Steve & Greg💔
Saw them on the Smokin' tour. They did their earlier stuff, including a raucous I Don't Need No Doctor. For the newer material, the Blackberries appeared! They were great, one of the best shows I've ever seen. Marriot was all over the place, and belting it out like only he could.
the Faces didn't just add Rod Stewart to sing, they also added Ron Wood to play guitar. allaaaaa it took two major English Musical Studs to replace Marriott
