Brilliant video Angelo, can you do one about embedding video in html5, am just learning about indesign interactive functions. with no coding experience!
Hello Angelo...a really great job!!! 😍 I only have one small problem. When I preview the work, everything works fine. But when I go to publish, the buttons no longer work! :( 😡 What am I doing wrong?
A newbie question here, is this means that designers with no coding knowledge can create a whole new website from Adobe InDesign without using Dreamweaver/GoLive/etc? (eventhough of course it'll be much better to use the more appropriate app for creating website)
Thanks for the question! Yes, this packages all the assets needed to already host it to your site. It packages the HTML, javascript, images and stylesheets directly from InDesign. It's just a matter of adding the code to your hosted site, such as WordPress or Squarespace, for example.
Finally! So glad Adobe got around to adding this functionality. As someone who designs for clients that don't want their documents on a non=proprietary site, I'm glad to see Adobe gave us this option without having to use 3rd party solutions.
Ciao Angelo, could you make some other videos that explain how to create a multimedia brochure starting from indesign? Create something dynamic and eye-catching! Thank you always for your kindness and professionalism
@@AngeloMontilla Is there a link to running video in Animate? I would assume that you load a .mp4 (2.5 meg) file to an external server and then HTML5 link an 'auto play" snippet to the video within the Animate framework link we used to do in Flash? As to get the file size under 150K for Google. If no video, can you do one? Thanks in advance ... TG.
Thanks for your awesome Tutorial. one QUESTION! how or which format should we give the Project to Client, so that they can use this Interactive Infographic as a presentation? I appreciate your answer in advance.
Because without this step, the slider group will animate on page load. You only want the animation to be controlled by the button, not on its own. Unless of course you wanted it to.
Hey there! It is in fact a text frame. With the Selection Tool, hold Option (Mac) or Alt (Windows) and double-click the text frame to access the Text Frame options. You can also get to this by going to Object > Text Frame Options. In the Text Frame Options window, turn on the Ignore Text Wrap option and click OK.
24:43 - Dude, the text is duplicated, one on top of the other. There are 2 states on this page: state1 and state2. And both states are from the same text.
Thanks Monique. I agree. I was just starting on RU-vid and learning how to edit video content. I am not able to remove the music without effecting the other audio. I am sorry for that.
Hi there. If you click the link provided in the description, it'll take you to the full tutorial where you can download the assets. There's a word file called "Copy" that has all the copy for this tutorial. Thanks.
How would your workflow look to convert it to a 600x300 banner instead? :) Once you are done and you need to make it in 3-4 different screen sizes, what's the next step then?
Thank you so much for the helpful video! I’m currently creating about 20 interactive pages within a single document. I’ve been following the same steps to add buttons and object states to each page, but they only seem to work correctly on the first page. On the others, the buttons don’t function as expected. Do you have any idea what might be causing this issue?
Hi Angelo. I'm hoping you can help with a little ePub issue. I created a presentation for work, and have some roll-over buttons that fade-in some "call-outs" over an image only when hovering over the button, and call-outs fade out when rolling off the button. I have the call-outs set to fade-in when "rolling over", and to reverse the "fade-in" when "rolling off". This is perfect for a desktop computer using a mouse. There are several roll-over buttons to the left that show different "call-outs". But of course with a tablet or mobile device, the roll-overs do not work. Is there a way to make the call-outs work as described when on a desktop, but also show on a tablet only when touching the "bullet point" buttons? I hope this makes sense. On a tablet, I would like the button to fade in the call-outs when finger is on the button, but fade out the call-out when finger is taken off the button. Or, any suggestion for a solution is welcome. I considered "object states", but I like the animation quality of the "fade-in, fade-out". Thank you, Angelo, for taking the time to read this!
Hi Angelo, Thank you so much for making this video! You are an amazing Teacher & I'm lucky to have found your channel. I was wondering if it's possible to use the same technique for a video with an HTML I-Frame embed code sourced from the video's hosted site? The end goal being a publish online document that contains long videos without a huge file size. If it's possible, what would need to be done differently? I've noticed most of your tutorials detail steps for placing full video files. If you feel I-frame html embedding is an overall bad idea, would you please elaborate? In a perfect world, being able to provide something like you designed in this tutorial of yours - only with videos that are quite lengthy- would solve so many of the problems I'm encountering on the project i'm trying to finish. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H5USWd0zGms.htmlsi=Wz6R9VRlDoD_sxVS Thank you for sharing your knowledge & experience! I really appreciate you & the insights you provide.
@@AngeloMontillathanks a lot! if you're ever looking for tutorial inspiration, please consider sharing more video embed code ideas for interactive pdfs ...and if you have any contact with Adobe, PLEASE TELL THEM VERTICAL SCROLLING IS A BASIC NECESSITY PUBLISH ONLINE DESPERATELY NEEDS. Thanks again!
Hi Angelo, First of all, great video. Here it comes; however, InDesign 19.5 tells me that the interactive elements are not currently supported. What version are you using? Nor, am I getting any optional share methods.
Late to this video, but when creating buttons for an interactive pie chart, the hit detection state is always square so buttons overlap and it causes confusion when trying to highlight individual segmnts. Am I missing something obvious?
