I remember when I was 16, I smoked a pack of Marlboro cigarettes in one day. It took a week before I could breathe normally. I didn't smoke for a month after that. So my point is how in the world can people smoke 100 cigarettes in a day? That is insane. I have been smoke free for 15 years
I sat with Milton Berle in a breakroom at DFW airport due to his flight being delayed and the Admirals Lounge closing on time. I've written at length about the events of the evening in other comments sections but, in a nutshell, it happened to be the night Johnny Carson's last show was being televised. Yeah, he was pretty unpleasant and had no qualms about voicing his opinion of Bette Midler using very nasty terminology. I also ran into Faye Dunaway on two separate occasions and on both of them she was quite delightful, though I don't doubt these claims one bit.
Back in those days the dangers of smoking was well hidden. They had doctors and actors promoting smoking in ads and TV commericals. Cigarette companies sponsored many TV shows like The Andy Griffith Show he smoked in some of those episodes and promoted them. During WWII the cigarette compaines gave free smokes to the soliders to get them hooked knowing they were killing people but it made them filthy rich.
Pretentious video. I remember when the big push came to try and outlaw smoking. Mostly all driven by insurance companies because smokers can suffer lingering deaths that cost them profits. Joe Camel was out to get your children, was the angle they took. If everyone passing laws then was worried about kids maybe they would have noticed how many teens died every year from smoking vs how many teens died every year that were alcohol related. Kids literally over dose on booze, plus the accidents. This number was in the hundreds and would grow to well over a thousand every year. But this didn't cost insurance companies millions. Check your Farmer's Almanac. Tobacco and Reefer was zero. We ALL choose our own deaths whether we are aware of it or not. Where's this guy's "Actors that were boozers" video? Smoked like an old locomotive since I was 13. 61 now. I don't promote it. Never have or would. I hate being treated like a second class citizen. Not smoking in bars makes me laugh so f'ing hard man. BTW, why do bars still have parking lots? Answer that...
Different times for sure. They all lived their lives the way they wanted to. Jackie Gleason is a favorite of mine, he smoked heavily as well. God bless all of them. That being said, I am glad I quit smoking 13 years ago. To each their own, but it isn't beneficial in any way, shape, or form to poison your lungs like that.
So many think the character of the actor on screen is really what that actor is like in life. Entertainers are such phonies their egos are so over blown because of their public popularity.
Another stupid AI voice...Bette Davis' first name is pronounced with the E sound at the end, not like "bet." My mistake is watching this through to the end, losing precious minutes of my life!
Can't believe you left out Ronald Reagan. Raped a young starlet, gave SAG files to the F.B.I., and the hollowing out of the American middle class to enrich a few people.
If you could elaborate it would be interesting. I had a feeling that Mr. Stewart was not the image he portrayed in real life…. I have read some biographies of his…..
@@davidhazard512That's horrible. It appears the arrogance of some of those actors then and in some today give them a sense of entitlement. This is why I just view them as entertainers and don't place them on a pedestal. We don't know these people, many or not most appear to be narcissistic. I guess this fame nonsense is addictive🤔?
