Just installed 4 of the MC8. The first pair (ceiling rears) I did with out the backer box. The second pair (front ceiling) with the backer boxes. Can’t believe the difference. The sound is terrible with the backer box. Sounds like half the output and half the quality compared to without. Hopefully you tried with and with out because if not you might not know what you’re missing out on. Mine are in a fully finished and enclosed basement for reference..Enjoy the set up brother!
The center is extremely accurate and powerful. It beams the sound to you basically. Other center channels are good like Bowers and Revel but the way this one beams the sound is incredible. Thanks for watching
It's near silent with normal function. Only makes noise at full speed and unless you are in a closed function it doesn't break 80 degrees. I'm going to make a series of videos to give my experience on the products over the next few weeks. It's a great product, IT has a smart function that monitors the temperatures and throttles up and down. Auto just turns on and off but the Smart function actually will change the speed of the fan. I went back through my videos and looks like i missed adding that to the video. It was Paradigm room with Anthem products. I believe they were the Persona Bookshelves. Martin Logan Balanced Force still to me is the best Big box sub out there. The accuracy is just incredible especially since they still are using Aluminum and havent changed to Carbon fiber. They are still comparable neck and neck. I would go for Martin Logan Balanced force over all up to the 18 inch subs and then its a different ball game. My Harbottle Carbon 18s beat out the ML all day and the Perlisten Carbon 18 is another top end beast. Thanks for watching
I recently acquired a pair of ML ESL speakers last week that didn't come with any power plugs. I've tried like 5 or 6 different plugs and still there's barely any sound, if any, that comes out of either panel. ML support told me the same thing where they believe it could be the internal power supplies that may be the issue, they're scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Do you think it sounds like the internal power supplies need to be replaced? I just find it kind of suspicious that both speakers have the same issue. The original owner said they were working perfectly fine and have just been sitting in a corner of a spare room without being used. Both of the speaker's woofers work when plugged into an AVR, but I just can't get sound out of either panel. If you have any pointers or ideas or anything, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Yes it sounds like the power supply. First step is the power cord for them to send you. They did that for me and then power supply and then replacement. As long as you have the warranty your good. They will replace it
I realize you posted this about a year ago Jim, but can you tell me how the Infinity cooling fans have held up? Also, I noticed yours have blue displays. I checked Infinity's newest line and they don't state in the online manual whether or not you can select between white or blue. They all appear white. I like that soft blue because all of my equipment sits out in the viewing area. How are you liking the MCA 525? I just had my local A/V store order me one to use with my Anthem Statement D2. I'm also using Paradigm Studio monitors in my 5.2 system. I had been driving the Paradigms with Crown amps for years, but decided to update and do away with the three Crowns and go with all Anthem. Thanks for watching. I have soft blue I dont see an option to change to white on mine. The fans Auto mode is fantastic, the fans dont engage until the unit hit 85 and then its low speed and then at 90 medium speed and higher full speed. The units rarely turn on anyways but its nice to know they will engage automatically when it gets hot. The 525 is holding up well, definitely can hear the power difference between the 1140s 170 watts and the 525s 400 watts in the drivers. 525 is plenty clean and quiet and powerful and doesn't go past 80 degrees unless I close the closet door. Probably the best value medium power multi channel Amplifier on the market.

I will be making a video on it this week about fighting Anthems Room correction bass level. Eventually I would like to get Mcontosh 611 for the front stage when I get the Anthem AV90. The ESL on wall will match better to the ESL9s. I just didnt have the cash at the time for them so I got the FX2s. FX2s timber match with the ESLs so they blend right in for movies. In the future I will upgrade my main surrounds to on Wall ESL and use the FX2s for front wide and rear wide and then eventually replace all with the ESLs. 🍻

The FX2s FMT tweeter is very good very crisp detail but the Electrostats are higher fidelity. The Focus has both electrostat and FMT tweeter. The tweeter reinforces the ESL frequencies that's why in my opinion it's the best center channel out there at that price and the Illusion can't be beat with its huge panel and dual FMT and quad drivers.
@@jimthestargazer the illusion is a monster in many different ways but hard to justify that price when it basically becomes the price of the whole system 😂
Thanks for watching. The number is opposite so the lower number is thicker and higher number is thinner. My last car setup I was using 0 Gauge and the wire I was slaving my Seaton Subwoofers in my other videos also were 0 gauge. I didnt know about youtube videos like this back when I did my car or I would have made plenty. I went through two cars changing out the speakers and swapping subs from 10 in to 12in to 15in with different amps.
Heard those at Lonestar Auido Fest as well. They were one of my favorites. That open baffle design for the tweeter really made them sound nice and open. They are on my radar for an upgrade, after I finish swapping out my front end.
I’ve got the encore Stand mounts and it’s by far the best midrange speaker I’ve heard, they bring out a lot of the background nuances ( fire crackling over there, faucet drip over here) I love that shit, if these could or would be just 15% better that would be mind blowing for me anyway, I’m thinking a pair in near future, also xls/mtm, wish Danny had some TMM’s I really like that look the best, wonder if you could put these studios in a tower

@@jimthestargazer I asked several of the audio shows in North America if they censor or block new and emergent innovative technologies from being shown and ZERO replies. Several Audio Influencer types will not report and one manufacturer said "so what if they blocked you"
Ive covered the FAS 3x I believe and now Axpona 2024 and Lonestar Audio Show 2024 so I'm a pretty new youtuber. I think Jay from Jays Audio lab said something like you said but hes been to many, way more shows than I have. Maybe Ill see something in the future.
I got a new Speakerpower 4000 to power each sub individually now and found out that Marks programming was limiting the drivers severely and chopping off the extra 40-60hz bump that the Harbottle has. Also the limiting of the power was severe unless It was wired down to 1ohm and then it unleashed the full power of the Amp. I have sent the amp back to speakerpower for reprogramming and received back the Amp and wiped out Mark's programming and it's back to default and man what a difference. The Harbottles are just incredible vicious accurate monsters. Just one Harbottle is 6db greater than both of the F18s combined and at .25% distortion which is unheard of. I have yet to make the video on the story of the sub swap but will make it soon. Thanks for watching. 🍻

How do you think these will blend with the newer Gen 2 FMT of my ML XT speakers? I like the value of the MC6 much better.

Explain what you wanted to see? Ive seen guys who don't know anything giving reviews where I gave more details especially about the power protection. They don't know how the actual device works or its features other than specifications. I just did a quick unboxing and explained about the amplifier and posted about their sale which runs through the end of June. No ones paying me anything or providing any promotional media. Of course someone with a professional commercial or promotional media will look better. Im just a guy making videos in my spare time.
Nice video roundup, Jim. I spent all day Friday at Axpona and by far the most impressive demo was by newcomer Concierge Audio out of Minnesota. Powerful, fast, dynamics galore and yet they offered a sweet soulful sound. Wonderful active loudspeakers for streamers. 🎵

The industry they play a lot of 70s and 80s classic rock for demos not to many young vendors playing modern music. Would you recommend this center over the ESL C I have the ESL X’s? The 9’s are obviously more powerful but I figure the C18 might overpower the X’s. I ordered a set of them and they are coming soon, eager to set them up!
Are you planning on upgrading to the 9s or above eventually? If so then definetly invest in the Focus. The ESL C is still a top center channel but if your going to upgrade better off investing early

Yes I did that when my old Harmon Center channel Tweeter blew out. It works if you have ARC or Dirac for example but what it does is alter the surround presence because now your putting center channel sounds in your left and right channels. When its ATMOS encoding you really can hear the difference, same with the Bass. I myself want to start adding on surround subwoofers to give the subwoofer some breathing room to engage purely the LFE.
